Beautiful....I know!
This kitchen belongs to no other than the sweet
Miss Sara.
She is the author of Augustfield
I just have to be honest here..
I love every inch of her beautiful home!
Sara's kitchen had me dreaming....
a lot!
I love the soothing gray dont you?
I know I just painted my white cabinets not long ago...
but wouldn't gray cabinets be so forgiving?
If I could just package up her style and go with it I would.
I'm thinking maybe I could get away with paint...
It's pretty inexpensive right?
Ohhhh but her counter tops....
Hello!
(dont think I can get these just yet but a girl can dream) right?
Sara shared with us that her inspiration came from the photo below.
This kitchen belongs to Sally Wheat.
Both Sara and Sally painted their cabinets
Benjamin Moore Fieldstone!
love it~
So are you loving gray now?
I know I am!
Want to see a little more?
How about a peek into Martha Stewarts kitchen?
More wonderful gray!
Martha's gray is
Bedford Gray MSL246
You can find her paint at Home Depot
Look how Martha's white pottery just pop's here.
This color works well with stainless too!
So today I visited two stores.
Picked up two paint swatches
Fieldstone and Bedford.
Why oh why do I do this to myself...Ha!
For now I will just dream about those beautiful kitchens...
My husband...I bet he will be dreaming about the normal wife he wished he had...Ha!
Susie~
(the crazy paint lady)!
Simply, beautifully, gorgeous! I have been looking for a paint color for my bathroom cabinets and didn't want more cream, but something with a little color. I think I will go grey! Thanks so the inspiration Susie!
ReplyDeleteLove the gray, but I must admit, your title had me thinking I was going to read about the to-color-or-not-to-color that gray hair dilemma that plagues so many. I'm fastly approaching a decision here. :)
ReplyDeleteSo tell me what you think - I love the brown floors, the grey cabinets...what color of carpet would you put into a large family room right next to that (think basement/Utah/cold winter so I can't do all hardwood everywhere!)
ReplyDeleteI'm picking colors right now and you've got me thinking I need to make some changes already!
I love gray too! Great inspirational images and beautiful kitchen! Thanks for sharing the colors! Have a wonderful day! ~Lulu
ReplyDeleteGray is the new hot color and it looks incredible in this kitchen! Wow, I would love to have that. I so enjoyed looking.
ReplyDeleteLoving the gray! It's so clean and classic looking. Absolutely beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSusie,
ReplyDeleteYou had me laughing...then drooling. Ha! when i first read your blog post title I thought you were talking about your hair...then I read on and saw the pictures. All the kitchens you posted are beautiful. I just love that white subway tile and the gray really does make the kitchen look lovely.
Happy painting!
I'm LOVING GRAY right now too...not the ones that my sister points out when she's "accenting" my hair with low lights and high lights, but the other ones...like the gorgeous ones you showed! In FACT we just bought 3 gallons of gray paint for our masterbedroom! YEEEEHAAAAA!
ReplyDeleteOhhh BTW, I have a GREY island in my BLACK kitchen and I LOVE it with all my heart! ;-)
ReplyDeleteGray looks good everywhere except on your head!!! I think gray is becoming a classic, like black and white.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures.
Sherry
Hi Susie! I saw your blog and title from My Uncommon Slice of Suburbia and I had to come see you! I just went to Home Depot yesterday and picked up some color samples to paint my cabinets! I choose a gray green and I am loving it so far! My husband thinks that I am crazy because I have changed the color of our kitchen so may times! :) It is a big project but what else is there to do!! :)
ReplyDeleteI am following you now, you have a beautiful blog and shop!!!
Oh, Susieness! What a gorgeous kitchen! I do love the gray color! I've just repainted my kitchen cabinets white!!I could sleep in her kitchen! :) I'll have to go and look at her blog! I'll bet you're gonna go gray! :)
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
I like the grey but I'm not sure about it next to the wood floors. I have wood in one half of kitchen and dark black and brown fieldstone in another (tarkett really but it LOOKS like fieldstone) and I'm not sure the grey would look right in here.
ReplyDeleteSimply gorgeous! I had always thought I wanted to paint my cabinets a taupe but this gray is looking mighty good. I just feel guilty because my cabinets are in great condition and a beautiful wood but I am hankering for painted cabinets. Dilemmas.
ReplyDeleteMy vote....Fieldstone! Love it!! Can't wait to see your cabinets!
ReplyDeleteI just painted my kitchen Bedford grey in MArch and now with my shop moving I am doing the whole space bedfored Grey... it is so sublime... it enhances white perfectly it awesome... I giggled when I read it was Martha pick too... woot woot... Thanks Susie.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful kitchens! I think your cabinets would look great either of those colors! Love it!
ReplyDeleteHey lookin good, That is a beautiful kitchen your friend has...
ReplyDeleteThis is kind of funny. I was just catching up on my blogs via feedly.com (love it). Here, http://www.uniqueprop.com/index.htm , Joni, Cote de Texas, just did a post about gray being such a forerunner in homes right now. I am on board with it. It's such a great neutral that can be "perked" up if needed or just calm as well.
ReplyDeleteWow! Gorgeous!!! I'm on my way to look at her blog!

The color is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOh! I'm in LOVE! I was just thinking that it looked a lot like Martha's kitchen (from September's M.S. Living). I loooove grey.
ReplyDeletesusie...thanks for the sweet compliments on our kitchen :) my love for fieldstone has not faded one bit! :) we paired it up with BM vapor trails on the walls.
ReplyDeletegrey is very versatile with so many colors definitely the new neutral! :)
thanks again....can't wait to see what you're up to in your kitchen :) :)
I love them both. I am not kidding you when I say I was just looking at Martha's Kitchen from he Sept. 2006 Magazine. Yes, her kitchen was done 4 years ago and it still looks amazing. The woman knows what she is doing.
ReplyDeletehttp://cotedetexas.blogspot.com/ Sorry! This is Joni's blog. I copied and pasted the wrong address.
ReplyDeletei have been wanting so much to paint my bedroom gray before the baby comes and these are the perfect colors. now if i can only get my husband on board.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty. I can't wait to see what you decide to do. I bet your husband doesn't mind as long as you are happy...(and as long as you do all the work) :)
ReplyDeleteIt's soooo soothing! I can't decide what to paint my kitchen, and you're not making the decision any easier! :D
ReplyDeleteIt's just stunning!!!!
ReplyDeletexo,
LuLu
I love these kitchens. They are gorgeous. I had never thought of gray. RIght now our cabinets are getting painted in antique white. I can't even look at another color. I am pretty sure if I change color halfway through hubbie will not be thrilled. LOL

ReplyDeleteO Susie...these grays are amazing. It isn't one of my favorite colors so not sure if I could actually live with it or not...but they surely are pretty in the photos.
ReplyDeleteI am so with you Susie, I just painted my cabinets white too but I love this gray. Oh, my.
ReplyDeleteWell I thought I was going to repaint the kitchen white but maybe gray would do the trick.
