Pottery Barn VS Wal Mart....

Aren't these just the prettiest lil lanterns you ever did see! They are from Pottery Barn and of course they have the darling lil price tag to show it.

Take a look see at these lil darlings. Wal Mart! I bought the small one for 11.00 and wanted the daddy one for months....

I let the house know I needed the daddy one so Kaylee bought it for me for Mothers day...awww, she's sweet like that! He cost 20.00 and y'all can find them in the candle section. Walmart has come out with some news ones in the garden center but they are priced a bit higher....just so know...smile~

In the picture the Daddy looks kind of short but in real life he's tall.

So tall in fact that I'm still looking for the right candle to nestle in him!

For now I will let my moss and starfish play...they sure make their way around the house. They are fun like that!

  7. So lovely to look at ...Probably all were made by the same company in China or where ever. I found one in copper at a garage sale several weeks ago...certainly grabbed it before anyone else.

I am falling in love with Wal-Mart--they are coming around with their home dec stuff!

  12. What a great find, they look just alike. Everytime I swear I am never going back to wal-mart they do something like this (or their $2.38 ocscar mayer center cut bacon) to lure me back!

  17. I haven't been to Walmart in awhile, it looks like I need to pay them a visit!
I'm lovin' the glimpses of your "new" decor! When are you going to give us fans a full tour?

  18. Love when I find deals like that! I am all about replicating PB looks on a budget! JC Penney's has a lot of pottery barnish stuff to for 1/2 the price of PB. :)

  19. Great find! I wish they were at Target though--I boycott Walmart...but I really really like those lanterns. *sigh*

  23. Love those and have seen some at my small town Wallyworld....but you know personally I love the moss ball and starfish better than the candles...different which is always better for me.

Now tell me did you make the moss ball? If so share how and where you got your moss...all the moss I have found is so dark and this is a pretty green...umm I wonder if I can spray paint moss..lol

  25. They are great! Love how you displayed them.

I'll tell you what, I just bought some window treatments there and I'm really happy with them. My mom bought a candle holder from one of those home parties....and then found the same thing way cheaper in Walmart. Who woulda thunk it?
    Have a great day!

  29. Hi Susie...

I bought one of the Better Homes and Gardens outdoor apothecary lanterns the other day. I am loving Walmart lately. I love Pottery Barn but it has to fit in my budget. I am new to your site. Congratulations on your son's graduation.

  30. SOOO neat! We used to have two in different sizes and got rid of them because it never occurred to me to put anything in them other than candles. I'm now kicking myself for getting rid of them!

  31. I love those! I have also seen them at Big Lots. I need 2 of those big ones!

  35. I love them! I bought mine last year at Meijer (you might not have one) for $11.00 on clearance. Another good tip is to go after summer is over. I also just bought silver ones at TJMaxx. I don't know what it is about lanterns, but I'm in love! I think the starfish looks great in there!

  36. What a fantastic bargain they look identical.

  42. Oh girl! Love the lantern with the starfish in it. So adorable! Great thinking!

Also, glad to hear you are working on the post. I'm ssooooooo excited!

And as far as coming down and staying in your brothers beach home in Ft. Meyers, YOU MUST! Ft. Meyers beach is literally 10 minutes from our neighborhood in Bonita Springs. How fun would that be girl! Oh yes, we'd have to paint the down with girlfriend stuff/activities. Let me know should you make it down there this summer. We'll be there from May 29th - August 4th.

    Hugs, Angie

  44. Ok, after reading your post, I had to post about the couple things I found that were very similar to PB from JCP.

    I love a good deal! :)

  45. Love me some Walmart. Waiting to go there right now actually. :) Gonna look for those lanterns. I have such a thing for them.

  46. Susie,
If you've checked out my blog lately, you'll see a different version of the black lanterns. We picked ours up at Old Time Pottery in Foley, Alabama. And I brought another one home for my coffee table. What a great store that is. The prices are unbelievably cheap, I'll tell you....

  47. I love lanterns...hmm, I don't have that color.

  48. I love these! Didn't know Walmart had them so cheap, though. Gotta go see if I can find some for myself now! Thanks, Susie. :-)

  54. I'm new to your wonderful blog. Love the WalMart candle holders. Personally, I think the moss & starfish look better than candles. :-)

Congrats on your son's graduation. That will be me in two years.

    Have a great day!

  55. I like them the way you have them, Susie! Now, I need to get over to Wallyworld and have a look around!!

  56. I'm loving them with you.

I also think I'm finally getting something. My house is not decorated the way I'd like. Because stuff, even Walmart stuff, costs money, you know? You said you wanted the Daddy lantern for months. I think I'm finally getting that people who have really pretty houses, such as yourself, aren't out there doing it all at one time. You're looking, shopping, and yes, waiting. So, it's a work in progress, no? Ahhhhhhh. There is hope for my house!

  57. Love the lanterns! You absolutely cannot tell the difference!!!!! Awesome find!

    ReplyDelete
  58. How very thrifty of you...they look so similar!! These lanterns are great because they can be used anywhere! Hope you enjoy them!
    Blessings!

  59. What a great find! Now I need to find somewhere in the house to put them!

  60. Hey Suz! I saw those just the other day when I was strolling through my Wallyworld. They have really improved on things. The new BH&G things are really pretty. Did you see the large round iron/glass candle holder too? Glad to see the merchandise is getting better there.

Hey, drop by & see me sometime! :)

  61. Thank you for posting! I have been hunting everywhere for lanterns...but just can't bring myself to pay the price for the ones I've seen. I always forget about looking at WalMart (it's crazy busy and I usually avoid it). Those look so pretty on your mantel! I even bought similar starfish on our recent trip to FL. :)

    ReplyDelete
  62. They look exactly the same! Great find! I'll have to look for them.

Thank you for your sweet comments about my weekend. I was disappointed, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized that God was in control of the situation and I didn't need to fret over it. I'll sell them one way or another...it might just take me a while! : )

  63. Hi there. Yes, we have a home in the Bonita Bay community there in Bonita Springs, FL. Like your brother, we love the area. We used to stay in Ft. Myers Beach for years when my step-dad had a home there. We eventually found our way into Naples/Bonita Springs and fell in love with that area as well and decided to make it official. :)

Should you decide to make your way south this summer, definitely let me know. You'd love it there!

Hope you are enjoying your evening.

  65. I have had a love affair going on for years with lanterns! I have at least a dozen of them because I used them on the tables at my daughter's wedding reception years ago. It was a fall wedding and I put fall-colored candles in each and had fall leaves all around each lantern.

I have used them in banquets at church and other people have borrowed them. I also use them out on the deck for evening get-togethers.

I found many at TJMX and everywhere I went I looked for lanterns. Yes, I loved the ones at PB also but tooooo expensive!

  66. I can't believe you found those at Walmart. From the pictures, they look identical to the Pottery Barn version. Rock on!
