A very large wooden sign...Lovely...
With chippy worn paint of muted grays ,this sign goes perfect in this space.
I could hardly wait till Marc got home so I could show him my new love.
I snatched him up and directed him straight to the bathroom.
He stood there with a puzzled look on his face and said
"I dont get it".
You dont get it? What dont you get?
The sign..
Why does it say showers?
{crickets}
"Oh"
I tried to explain that it was to look as though I found it in a salvage yard.
Waiting patiently for me after years of directing young kids to the "Bath House" at church camp.
{crickets}
"Oh"...... "If you love it"?......
...I give up....
HAHAHAHAHA!!! Sound Man would be the same way!!!
ReplyDeleteI think it's too cute in your new bathroom!
Too funny! What would we do without our men, though??? They sure do keep us laughing!
ReplyDeleteMy husband would be the same way. Sorta bursts the bubble when you are so excited about something and they just don't get it. It was a beautiful sunny day here, and much needed. I think it is supposed to be raining here again soon. So we will enjoy it while we can. Have a great week! Jackie
ReplyDeleteLove it girl...Both the sign and DH remark ha ha!! Hugs and smiles Gl♥ria
ReplyDeleteWell, I love it. I hear crickets often when trying to explain things to my hubby. He never gets it, but I do, so we're both happy.
ReplyDeletefunny! i get it and i love it! it truly does look vintage! i sent you an email! did ya get it? xo
ReplyDeleteHmmm...are you married to my husband? There is something about getting so excited..only to have your bubble burst OR not even get blown up. :)
ReplyDeleteI think it is quite cute. No crickets here.
Cheers~
e
Fabulous sign, Susie!
ReplyDeleteLOL @ the hubby!! Oh well, he's a man. At least he was willing to look at the new masterpiece :-)
I got it right away. I'd love to spend a day in a man's brain.
ReplyDeleteThen again, I probably wouldn't get much done. ;)
Men... Go figure. :)
ReplyDeleteMy guy would have said the same thing. This is why we have girl friends!
Oh yeah Susie, I have one of those too...husbands I mean. I love the sign. So cute.
ReplyDeletehugs
I love it!
ReplyDeleteToo funny!!!! At least we get it. :) It turned out great.
ReplyDeletexxxx
That is amazing and sounds like any conversation I could have had with my husband.
ReplyDeleteI brought home a milk glass cake stand and he was baffled.
"but, why do you put it on a stand? Don't you eat it?"
Oh how I love my hubby. Great sign by the way. :)
hahahaha poor you... You should have called a friend to come look and get EXCITED with you...
ReplyDeleteI love it and totally get it but then again I'm a woman. That's a man for ya. :)
ReplyDeleteBoys! I love the sign, I think I remember one just like that a church camp. Have a great day
ReplyDeleteCha Cha
that is something that would happen here... unless of course it was worse. like when i brought home fabric to cover our dining rom chairs and he said "over my dead body!" so i did it while he was deployed :) anyway, i think your sign is cool. and appropriate!
ReplyDeleteLove the sign. My husband and son would have been the same way. Only the would have said "Why? We know where the shower is." They just don't get it sometimes. Yet, other times their totally on board with my ideas.
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed week.
I love the sign, but I gotta say I really laughed at your husband's reaction. Too funny. Men crack me up.
ReplyDeleteheehee.. reminds me of a camp ground sign. Cute and nicely done Susie!
ReplyDeletewith love,
Olivia
I get it & think it's really cute. Good job. It's perfect in there.
ReplyDeleteI love a man who says I don't get it but if you love it, I love it! :)
ReplyDeleteVery sweet sign, Susie!
Hugs,
Shilo
HILARIOUS!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the sign Susie Bloop! :-)
Layla
too cute. he's just such a man! lol.
ReplyDeleteI bet he had that glazed over look in his eyes too...like mine does when I try to explain or show him something. Gotta love them though! And the sign too...very cute :)
ReplyDeletethat is so funny! i love it and i totally get it!
ReplyDeleteOh men! hahaha.. Well, we all love it, Susie! :)
ReplyDeleteHahahhaa. I don't think Zack would have gotten it either.
ReplyDeleteWell, I get it - and I love it!
ReplyDeleteHusbands are just too cute aren't they? Bless their little 'ole hearts!
LOL!!! That is hilarious! Just like a man. My husband would have been the same way.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE it! Who cares if the men in our lives do. :)
I mean't...who cares if the men in our lives don't. Ugh! Pregnancy brain! :)
ReplyDeleteMEN! They just don't get it!!! I get so excited when I make a new outfit for my daughter with fabric I've been coveting for months and I just feel the need to put it on her and go to Target just so she gets to wear it. His reaction? "Um, yeah, it's cute."
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the new sign! I think it's precious!
some things are just better shared with girlfriends!!! Too cute!
ReplyDeletesuzanne
I know how you feel. I don't know why I even get excited to show my husband things that aren't related to sports or guns. It is pointless...Thank goodness you have us to "ohhhh" and "ahhhh" over your finds. By the way, the sign looks FAB!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is exactly the reaction I get around here. Travis is so unimpressed with my brilliant ideas. That may be one of the reasons I blog, actually. Sometimes a girl just wants someone to "oooh and aaah" over what she's made. :)
ReplyDeleteI love your sign. It is chippy-paint perfection! :)
i love it too! i have one in the kitchen that i love too...says "danger mosquitoes". not sure why i had to have it, but i did.
ReplyDeletehaha! that's exactly what my husband would say. They just don't get it
ReplyDeleteOh, what does he know?! LOL
ReplyDeleteI love it and think it's perfect!!!
I LOVE it! I might have to make one for my guest bathroom! Great job!
ReplyDeleteI love it susie!
ReplyDeleteMen just don't GET things...you know!
I love it Susie and to tell you the truth, I thought of church camp, too!LOL
ReplyDeleteI went to church camp when it was really primitive...can you say chicken wire bunks and ticking mattresses......this and that and the other! Compared to that, my kids went church camp resort!
Your sign is perfect!
HAHAHAHAHA...MEN! Love the sign and I cracked up even more with your insertion of {crickets}...I can hear that chirping now....LOLOLOLOLOL
ReplyDeleteWhy is it the hubs in our lives don't get it? Ah well, gotta love them none the less. Glad you shared with us cause we totally get it and LOVE IT!!
ReplyDeleteHa! Sounds like my husband! he doesn't get a lot of the stuff I paint!
ReplyDeleteThe exact same thing would happen at my house with my hubs. I howver, think it is a lovely sign and does go perfect in that spot.
ReplyDeleteHi, Susie
ReplyDeleteMEN! - dont understand 'em but cant throw 'em out either,, mines the same way,, he wouldnt get it either. But I love it..
It sounds like you found a common ground among bloggers---husbands that just don't get it!!
ReplyDeleteIn our family, my brother 'gets it' and enjoys it. My brother-in-law (my sister's husband) 'gets it' even more!!! So that just leaves my poor husband out in the cold. But the great thing is that he does his 'golf' thing and I do my 'whatever-we-call-it-always-on-the-hunt-thing'. We call it even and appreciate the fact that we both do things to make us happy!!
Glad to see there is a whole club of us tho! Great sign.
Laughing so hard because it sounds so familiar. I had a piece of furniture -- beautiful, shabby, chippy patina. I use the word had because while I was away someone took it upon himself to "FINISH" it for me and make it look brand spanking new. Gee, thanks.
ReplyDeleteHaaahaaa! This is hilarious! And so familiar, it's sad... :) I think your sign is awesome! Love that chippy grey paint!
ReplyDeleteThat's so funny- most men just don't get it! LOVE the sign!!!
ReplyDeleteLOL!! They are so honest its funny. I love your sign. :))
ReplyDeleteOh yes.. I have a similar conversation with my man too... They try, but they just DON'T get it girl! It's beautiful though, and you did an amazing job! (As always) Love it.
ReplyDeleteThey are ALL the same, sweet Susie! I love your sign, it's perfect. And I totally adore your waffle & linen towels below. I may have to steal that one from you, since I have a monogrammer in the family too. xoxo
ReplyDeleteHA!
ReplyDeleteI GET IT! :)
So does my hub, he didn't 5 years ago, but he does now! :)
LOVE YOUR SIGN!
xoxoL~
Men just sometimes don't get it do they?
ReplyDeleteI love it! I think it looks great! My husband doesn't get it either. If he could have white plain walls everywhere he would be just fine...me I like the nice touches that can be added to a room for fun!
ReplyDeleteSusie - I get it and I LOVE it! Men...
ReplyDeleteLOL! You made me laugh. I guess that's why "us" gals have our blogs to share these things with:) I love your sign...it looks great! Lisa
ReplyDeleteFun! Are you gonna add that to your shop? I'd need the hand facing a different way tho! Beth
ReplyDeleteHilarious! this sounds like a scene from my life. I have a wonderful supportive husband, but he is absolutely clueless on things like this! He would not "get it" either! Too funny.
ReplyDelete{{Hugs}}

p.s. LOVe, love, love, the sign!
My husband wouldn't get it either. I do love it!!! It looks fantastic. The more worn away it is the more I love it. Hubby doesn't get that either. LOL
ReplyDeleteRuth
well, i definitely love it!
ReplyDeleteWell....I love it too!!! I am going to make one for my son's bathroom...it will be perfect in the same place you have that one...thanks for sharing!!!
ReplyDeleteMen...
ReplyDeleteIt looks great though!
think it is a lovely sign and does go perfect in that spot.
ReplyDeleteWork from home India
Man...I tell you what! lol Hey, girly! Glad to be back...:) Meme
ReplyDeleteSadly... I hear that phrase all to ofter! the sign is completely cute! I am inspired to make one myself!
