I cant tell you how happy it makes me when I can re-wreath something.
Having two doors to dress can get a bit expensive so I have to be creative. I pretty much stick with grapevine wreaths because they are forgiving and weather well here in the humid south.
I never attach anything that cant be removed. I simply use florist sticks {green sticks with wire on the end}. You can find these in your floral department at Wal Mart. I just wire my piece on the stick and poke it in there.
As time goes by and pieces start to look shabby I just change them out.
Many of my wreaths are products of disassembled arrangements from the past. I never throw out a good looking stem just for this reason. You just never know when a twig or berry will be needed.
Around here we love hand*me*downs. So what's on your door?

I think I've recycled this wreath about 3/4 years now.

Funny, I just did a post on what's on my door! Love yours with the white pumpkins and feathers...never enough feathers! I always shake my head in disbelief when a customer tells me she doesn't like feathers.

What's on OUR door? Why, a beautiful new door we got for next to nothing because it was SLIGHTLY damaged. (You can't even tell though) I can't wait to show you....it has six beveled glass window panes, it's made of solid mahogany....we really scored on this one!
Your wreaths are TO DIE FOR! Maybe one day when we don't have to do so much BACKGROUND work on this place, I'll actually get to decorate for the season! :-)

Sadly, i don't have anything on my door. Supposedly our subdivision doesn't allow us to put anything on our doors but there are lots of wreaths and such on people doors.

I never throw anything away! Drives Hubby bananas! But that's also the teacher in me!
I have a fun wreath-like thingie whatchamacallit on my red door. I have to use shades of yellow and not orange so it does not clash! So, I have yellow leaves and sunflowers and some other cool yellow flower from Hobby Lobby!I'll post about it at some point! I have pictures ready...just not the time to post!

Absolutely gorgeous... I would die for those doors... I love the turkey...nice touch... I have a friend that turkey hunts and he saved me a bag of feathers and forgot to tell his wife (she is not a junker) and she tossed the bag out... I could have cried... now I might just have to put the bug in his ear again this year... thanks for sharing... fantastic job
Oh, Dear Susieness, your wreaths are beautiful! I have double doors too and know exactly what you mean about the expense. I think because of the two doors the wreaths need to be a little over the top. Yours are definitely over the top - pumpkins, feathers, just everything. I love it. I want to copy you! :)

I am moving from Florida to northern Kentucky in 4 weeks and I have a friend making me two wreaths for our door at our new home. I don't know what they will look like or how much they will cost but she has great taste and I can't wait to see them. I love your front doors too. I love doors....along with chairs, pillows, lamps....the list doesn't stop.

I love yours, very pretty! I do the same thing with the floral picks...only I don't wire them...I just stuff them in the grapevine and that's that. lol

I used a grapevine wreath, some fall colored flower picks and other fallish stuff that I had laying around. I'll post a picture one day this week. Love the feathers in your wreath.

This is beautiful! I love your doors too! Gorgeous! I just got a new front door, with the six panes and we FINALLY got in installed and painted! My son walks through and says wow, that really is open! Are you going to put something on it? Ugh! So I started wondering about bamboo shades and if that would look alright! Love the wreaths, and I am like you, I have a big box of odds and ends and when I am in need of some flower stems, I shop the box. When it gets too faded, then it goes in the trash. Reuse, Reuse, Reuse, that is the best way. Jackie

I agree the vine wreath can be for all seasons.
I decorated a large artificial pine wreath I have with corn husk. It came out looking really good. I hung it over my fireplace.
Love the pheasant feather wreaths! We JUST did a post on pheasant feathers for Fall-- such a great addition to autumn decor!
