I cant tell you how happy it makes me when I can re-wreath something.

Having two doors to dress can get a bit expensive so I have to be creative. I pretty much stick with grapevine wreaths because they are forgiving and weather well here in the humid south.

I never attach anything that cant be removed. I simply use florist sticks {green sticks with wire on the end}. You can find these in your floral department at Wal Mart. I just wire my piece on the stick and poke it in there.

As time goes by and pieces start to look shabby I just change them out.

Many of my wreaths are products of disassembled arrangements from the past. I never throw out a good looking stem just for this reason. You just never know when a twig or berry will be needed.

Around here we love hand*me*downs. So what's on your door?
I don't have a wreath on my door for autumn but I will have one for christmas.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog I have added a link to your blog from my sidebar.
I just love your beautiful wreaths on your beautiful doors! I have one up for Autumn but you gave me inspiration for more! Cindy
ReplyDeleteThat looks beautiful! I have a ghost that says "boo" on my front from Kirklands. Its very original...let me tell ya. lol
ReplyDeleteLooks great! I love me some white pumpkins.
ReplyDeleteI'm doing grape vine with various items thrown on, in & around.
I think I've recycled this wreath about 3/4 years now.
Sunflowers are on my door. Yes we have been reusing...way before the GREEN movement. Have a good day.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, as always! My post today is on my front door and my porch too. Great minds think alike! Blessings to you!
ReplyDeletethose are fabulous! I've always wanted a double door--but I understand the predicament when it comes to wreaths :)
ReplyDeletesadly there is nothing on my door...but yours looks lovely
ReplyDeleteI just love your wreaths - so individual and so pretty. Thanks for the tips on doing these. I love grapevine wreaths too, so I think I'll have to do some experimenting.
ReplyDeleteI love what you did with your wreaths. Your front door looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThat looks great Susie. I bet the white pumpkins show up from a distance too. Great job!
ReplyDeleteFunny, I just did a post on what's on my door! Love yours with the white pumpkins and feathers...never enough feathers! I always shake my head in disbelief when a customer tells me she doesn't like feathers.
ReplyDeleteDonna
What's on OUR door? Why, a beautiful new door we got for next to nothing because it was SLIGHTLY damaged. (You can't even tell though) I can't wait to show you....it has six beveled glass window panes, it's made of solid mahogany....we really scored on this one!
ReplyDeleteYour wreaths are TO DIE FOR! Maybe one day when we don't have to do so much BACKGROUND work on this place, I'll actually get to decorate for the season! :-)
Layla
Really lovely wreaths...I just LOVE white pumpkins!
ReplyDeleteI have NOTHING on my door...

Love your wreaths. What a beautiful and welcoming front entrance.
ReplyDeleteSadly, i don't have anything on my door. Supposedly our subdivision doesn't allow us to put anything on our doors but there are lots of wreaths and such on people doors.

ReplyDeleteI never throw anything away! Drives Hubby bananas! But that's also the teacher in me!
I have a fun wreath-like thingie whatchamacallit on my red door. I have to use shades of yellow and not orange so it does not clash! So, I have yellow leaves and sunflowers and some other cool yellow flower from Hobby Lobby!I'll post about it at some point! I have pictures ready...just not the time to post!
Love ya,
Susan
What a great idea! I think I'll make one and hang it over my mirror in our foyer ~ thanks for the decorating idea.
ReplyDeleteJo
Your wreaths are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love your fall wreaths! Speaking of twigs...my door was inspired by one of your interior projects from last year!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous... I would die for those doors... I love the turkey...nice touch... I have a friend that turkey hunts and he saved me a bag of feathers and forgot to tell his wife (she is not a junker) and she tossed the bag out... I could have cried... now I might just have to put the bug in his ear again this year... thanks for sharing... fantastic job
ReplyDeleteOh, Dear Susieness, your wreaths are beautiful! I have double doors too and know exactly what you mean about the expense. I think because of the two doors the wreaths need to be a little over the top. Yours are definitely over the top - pumpkins, feathers, just everything. I love it. I want to copy you! :)
ReplyDeletebe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
I am moving from Florida to northern Kentucky in 4 weeks and I have a friend making me two wreaths for our door at our new home. I don't know what they will look like or how much they will cost but she has great taste and I can't wait to see them. I love your front doors too. I love doors....along with chairs, pillows, lamps....the list doesn't stop.
ReplyDeleteLovely!!! I have been wanting a wreath for my front door. I think it is just a nice first impression. I may have to try my hand at being creative and coming up with one this season.
ReplyDeleteThose are really pretty, Susie.
ReplyDeleteNothing on my door. It's all plain and sad :(
Those are gorgeous Susie! I also love your new blog header....meant to tell you that the other day. :-)
ReplyDeleteRight now I have a fall wreath, but since it's October, I need to switch it out for my halloween wreath. It's one splurge I made years ago because it's just so freakin' cool! ;)
ReplyDeleteI love yours, very pretty! I do the same thing with the floral picks...only I don't wire them...I just stuff them in the grapevine and that's that. lol
Love your wreaths! I have a gigantic fall wreath on my door right now, but I have an oval one very similar to yours that I use in the spring and summer. I absolutely love your double doors.

ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful! I love your doors too! Gorgeous! I just got a new front door, with the six panes and we FINALLY got in installed and painted! My son walks through and says wow, that really is open! Are you going to put something on it? Ugh! So I started wondering about bamboo shades and if that would look alright! And there they are on your doors today! LOVE THEM!!
ReplyDeleteDilemma solved!
Have a great day!

I don't have anything on my door. I've been hunting around for a wreath but really, everything just fell short of my expectations. Flimsy for so much $! I'm so incredibly inspired by your wreaths. I looked at them and said "hey, I could do this!" I'm already thinking of what I have at home that I can stick in a wreath. Thanks so much!

ReplyDeleteHi Susie! I always enjoy coming by your blog! I nominated you for the honest scrap award....not sure if you have already done this or not. You can stop by my blog to learn more! Thanks,
ReplyDeletePolly
Here's a link to my wreath. I'm a "more is more" kinda gal. It's a grapevine wreath but you can't even see it anymore for all the leaves and berries and feathers and stems I have shoved in there. http://designonpost.wordpress.com/2009/09/12/there-i-fixed-it/
ReplyDeleteLove the wreaths, and I am like you, I have a big box of odds and ends and when I am in need of some flower stems, I shop the box. When it gets too faded, then it goes in the trash. Reuse, Reuse, Reuse, that is the best way. Jackie

First and foremost, let’s get one thing straight: Herve Leger Dresses“There’s an incorrect assumption about Herve that it’s only for evening,”Herve Leger sale Lubov told me up on the 18th floor of her Oktoberfest Costumes Times Square showroom and headquarters. “It can be worn anytime! People also assume that it should fit really tight, but personally I wear it one size bigger because I like the comfort of it while still getting the silhouette.”Herve Leger Replica These are the dresses that are coming into our stores and online now, and these are the dresses that are going to show up come Saturday, because as we pointed out in our runway report last season, an Herve Leger show is full of Herve Leger dresses.
