Behind the scenes look...

Already this morning, I'm kickin' up dust!

Sanding my dinning room table that is.

Gone are the days of that old dark cherry wood.

Have you ever started something then started to wonder ...

what have I gotten myself into?

Yeah, that feeling.

I'm feeling it about now.

Come on over and keep me company today.

I could sure use the pep talk.

Oh ... and maybe a Sonic coke.

My treat ;)

  1. I made it halfway through restoring a Hoosier cabinet this summer and thought "who am I to do such a project? These skills are out of my reach." I was wrong. It looks great LOL

The sanding is the hardest part! Cant wait to see your final product.

    1. I agree.. If you can make it through the sanding you got it. Your piece sounds wonderful. I'm glad you stuck it out.

  2. I love your dining table. I had one just like it a while back but gave it to some friends in need. Now I am wanting another. I need the bottom painted off white, distressed and waxed and the top left to look like old worn wood. Since you have been so good to take the time and sand yours all down, I will take it. Just send it on over, mmmkay. Haha. Have a great day, can't wait to see what you do with your table.

    1. Girl you are too funny. Halfway through the sanding I would have almost paid someone to junk it for me haha

  4. Wish I was close enough to bring you a Sonic drink and some company! Know your table will look great when you finish.

Am sending you a little surprise next week. Nothing much, but thought about you when I saw it.

  5. At least you are brave enough to do something! I have wanted to redo my dining table, chairs, and China cabinet, but they were my Mimmie's and I'm too afraid I'll mess them up. When my sister found "my" dining set on Miss Mustard Seed's blog, I knew then how pretty it could look, if I could just get past my fear. This is exactly what mine looks like, only the grody Craigslist before picture.

  6. Girl!!! Get past that fear and do it!! You can't mess it up and if you do just sand it again and start over. Don't make me come over there with my brushes and sonic drinks... Ok maybe that does kinda sound like a whole lotta fun!

  7. Sweet Susie, I have all the confidence in the world in your work :) and one day, I'm going to own one of your wall pieces! What I like about DIY is that you can always undo it ;) paint over, whatever, work until it makes your heart sing. Happy Wednesday!!
