Exposing my flaws.

I really don't like this picture of myself.

At all.

I could . I can. I do...

Find every flaw that is there to be seen.

Inside and out.

I can start with the very top of my head and ask myself ...

Girl! What were you thinking with those grey roots on picture day?

Really?

Oh don't get me started on my widows peek that I inherited from my father.

Thanks Dad.

My crows feet, jiggly wiggly arms and wrinkled hands..

I have more flaws than you have time...

I feel that's what people see when they first lay eyes on me.

You too?

If so, please oh please my precious friend..

Watch this video.

You may just rethink how you view yourself.

I myself, think you are beautiful!

Inside and out.

xo Susie

  1. You are ridiculous, the only visible thing I see is your widow's peak, but I guess we are all critical of ourselves you silly lady. YOU are beautiful inside and out and this is from reading your blog and viewing your pictures.

    1. Thank you Cheri,
I think all of you are beautiful. That video that I shared really makes you think. You tend to see yourself in a whole new light. I hope you were able to watch the video..it was a good one :)

  2. You know what I see when I look at your photo? I see a friendly face, a cute face that looks way younger than you claim to be! Wiggly arms????? Don't get me started as mine are twice the size of yours! Your widow peak? What a wonderful way to always have your father with you! You are beautiful inside and out! Even though I am overweight with dry hair and a red face due to roseacea, but I am fighting to shut the mean girl voice up inside my head! I am who I am. I need to learn self love. Why is that so difficult when I can love everyone else so easily!

    1. LL,
You know I never thought of it that way. Funny, now every time I look into the mirror I see my dad and giggle. Thanks for that sweet comment. I will cherish your words forever

  3. Funny....I've always thought you were a beautiful "fresh-looking" young woman! Add talented on top of that!! (By the way, by saying "fresh-looking" I mean a natural beauty....not made up...)

    1. Oh Mrs Judy! You are always the sweetest person I know. I guess I see where Kelly gets it from. Thank you for always having such a kind word. I see so much of Jesus when I see you and your girls. His love shows through on y'all. Love you

  5. I think it's a great picture of you! But I get it, I HATE having my picture taken!! When I see pictures of myself I'm always surprised (disappointed) at how I look. I think I'm better in person. LOL.

    1. Hi Kitty,
I think we share what most women do these days. That video rocked and I hope you had a chance to watch it. It's so worth the few minutes. You will never look at yourself the same.

  12. And yet, as soon as the page loaded and I saw you, my first thought was, "That Susie! What a pretty girl!"

I JUST left a comment on Richella's post about the same video. I don't feel pretty and feminine because of how overweight I am, but a few weeks ago a friend and I were talking and I said that I didn't feel very feminine and she said, "Heathahlee," (yes, she calls me Heathahlee!) "you are one of the most feminine women I know!" It's amazing what we DON'T see that others do!

  13. Isn't it funny how we see ourselves with such different eyes that the world does ( I can pick myself apart like no other can)? Truly, your photos radiate warmth and kindness...things that equal beauty from the inside out. Kudos for your honesty. Your words resonate with me for sure, but know that I see beauty all the way through.

  14. WOW! What an astounding video! Women are their own worst enemy...I so fit in that category. Susie, you are gorgeous! During your blogs, you show me so much more than your picture. You show me the wonder sense of humor you have daily. You show your talent & creativity. You share your family with me. You truly share all about yourself....not just your outer beauty. Thank you for being so open to me, a complete stranger...but a total admirer. Susie, you ROCK!!!! xoxoxoxo

  17. CRAZY WOMAN!!! When I see that picture I think "She looks so nice!" ... not in a "that's a nice outfit" ... I mean you look like a kind person. And don't worry about that widow's peak! Some of the most gorgeous people in the world have one! Hello, Marilyn Monroe, Ali Landry, Brook Shields. All knock outs!
