Braces.

Yesterday morning Maddy enjoyed her last meal brace free.

It seems like middle school is the stage of major changes.

If you can survive middle school...

We are using the same Ortho as we used for Kaylee.

Dr. Hollis.

He is a family friend and the kids love him!

Did you know you can pick colors now?

When I had braces years ago, silver. That's it. Silver.

Maddy picked pink and teal.

She even has her next few color choices picked out for future appointments..ha!

I had some awesome zoomed in pictures but.

Middle school is hard enough.
Who needs their Mom putting your stretched out face on the web.

I'm keeping my promise ;)

Seems like just yesterday we celebrated her first tooth!

Now it's every six weeks with Dr. Hollis.

So after her braces, we just hung out.

So far she has yet to complain. Thank you Lord!

I'm wishing I could slow the clock down..just a little.

This Mom is in no rush.

xoxo Susie

  1. Maddy looks beautiful now but her smile will be pretty like her Mom's if she can just last through the braces and the middle school years!

  2. Oh my goodness! Dr. Hollis was my orthodontist when he practiced in Lafayette. BTW, I found your blog through Kelly's Korner and I absolutely love it. I always love checking out the projects you do. My daughter and I are actually working on the Easter eggs right now. Love it!

  3. She's so pretty! Middle school is a hard time. I got braces & glasses in 7th grade, I was so scared of getting picked on but I survived :)
I remember putting goody powder on my gums because it was the middle of the night and I was all out of Orajel!!!
Mama made me corn on the cob the night I had my braces taken off. I remember how bad it hurt to eat it because I was so sore! But 4 1/2 years was a LONG time to go without eating corn on the cob!

  5. My daughter got braces yesterday, too! She had to also have 2 teeth pulled at the same time, so it was a HUGE ordeal that I have yet to blog about. Looks like her appointment went much better than ours!

  6. I love the fact that you can choose colors now. I've got red now, it's almost the colour of my lips, so you don't see that iron too much. Every six weeks...oef...i almost can't eat for a few days (it's good for the calories ha ha). How long does she need the brachelet?.

Good luck and enjoy your day!

  9. Oh, this brings back memories! I had both my daughters in braces, at the same time. They would pick colors based on the season/holiday! LOL! Thank goodness they didn't choose orange and black for Halloween!!

  10. I wore braces back in 1968-1970 and now at the age of 58 have them again. I LOVE the color options and take advantage of them each holiday that rolls around. Just plain fun!

  11. She looks great with braces. I have braces now as an adult, and had them as a kid too. But I don't get colors. Mine have 'doors' for the wires, instead of rubber bands. Bummer. lol. I'm hoping April is the month I get them off!

  12. Girl I know how you feel. Jade has been having them and EVERY appt. she says that Dr. Whitley BETTER be taking them off. lol. Everytime he says maybe in 2 more appts. She cringes and stomps out but what's funny is that she BEGGED us for Braces. Now she begs for them off. At least yours was a trooper and tell her that I like her color choice!

  13. We just did the same for Kennedy in January! Middle school is so hard on the girls, I'm hoping my son will be a little easier next year when he starts. Love the "hollister" shirt, it's too cute.
