Our Spooky Swamp

For the last few days, weeks maybe,

I have heard some strange noises coming from our swamp.

So I waited till someone would escort me back there.

FYI..my boot had a blow out! Ha..

Good ole tape!
Thanks Jess

So Jesse, my oldest, and I headed into the swamp.

It's so beautiful and peaceful back here...till that noise!

We never come back here without a gun.

As we walked deeper the noises seemed to get louder and louder.

I was so not sticking my head in there!

The noise was more of a crashing of trees than wild critters.

Along our way deeper in we came up on my brothers old deer stand.

My brother passed away 10 years ago and we just can't bring ourselves to take it down.

Jess camped back here when he was little.
This old tent has made it through 3 hurricanes...really!

Past the swamp there once was a wooded field.

We walked around the opening..

To find this!

The noise

The workers informed us a large ranch style subdivison is going in.

Thank goodness we still have our swamp as a bit of a buffer.

Progress..I guess~

  1. I hate that the noise ended up being that... darn "progress"... sometimes it just really sucks! :-) You're lucky you'll still have the swamp in between!

  2. Sometimes I have a difficult time understanding progress especially when beautiful trees are mutilated, acre after acre.

However, I am happy you weren't attacked by some vicious animal during your exploring!!!

  3. sheesh....i felt like you were taking me through an episode of lost!! :) (did you watch that? it had weird noised in the woods)

  4. Oh, that is such a bummer. I'm sorry your noise turned into something like that. I'm glad you have your swamp so it's not in your back yard!

  5. Hi! What a beautiful blog you got! I was searching for DIY christmas stocking when I found you. I look forward to follow you! Marianne (Norway)

Oktoberfest Dress These pieces are more like sweaters than anything else—they’re not cut-and-sew, they’re knits—and that’s why they fit so well. People are so surprised at how well Herve Leger fits, and I tell them it’s all about how the dresses are constructed.”And finally, we dress for what we love too. For what we just can’t resist. Lubov, a former dancer, is a big fan of movement, so for her that signals the fringe-trimmed bandage dress.
