DIY Headboard day two

I left ya'll with this image below. A dismembered bed..EEK

A few of you shared your concern and even thought I may be sorry later.

Nope.

The bed was old and a post was broken so no love loss here.

In fact, my husband now tells me he hated those post.

They always seemed to get in his way of the TV.

I didn't have a plan past the post amputation.

All I knew was I wanted a modern suite looking room.

So I started with boxing the headboard in.

I measured once and cut... x'3

till it was just right.

I then screwed in L brackets to give it more stability.

Here is a view from the backside.

This will be up against the wall so no worries here.

I used foam that I purchased from Wal Mart.

It holds up better than the batting I find.

I used a staple gun along the backside.

For the fabric, I knew I needed something durable.

I wanted a linen look minus the price.

Drop Cloths...how I love thee!

It works so well for projects such as this.

Missy and I draped it over my foam board and folded the corners over.

Stapled...  :)

I then drew a staright line where I wanted my nail trim to go.

You can buy the trim that comes in a roll

but

I didn't want to wait so I am went old school.

one. at. a. time.....forever..

I may just be finished for Christmas...ha!

No..really. This is a long process.

Buy the trim by the roll.

Trust me!

Not to mention I bought all that Lowes had so. I. wait.

Patience...I'm working on that one ;)

Thank goodness my sister is always near to keep me busy.
