My thoughts ...

Here you have a bed.

Simple and white.

Just what a bedroom should whisper....peaceful~

Four poster beds have always been top on my list.

When I was a little girl I dreamed of having a canopy bed.

I never owned one but the four poster bed gets me close to that same look.

My best friend had a canopy bed with a yellow spread.
I loved sleeping at her house :)
I would pretend it was my bed and I was a princess.

I always shared a room with my sister.
Raggedy Ann and Andy was one of our themes...ha!
I even had the matching bank.
Hmmm.... wonder what ever happened to it?

Back to 2011 and peaceful dreaming

I love this look... but...

This is what I have to work with...

A very high gloss cherry stained four poster bed.

Is there hope for her?

she believed
she could
so she did!

Stay tuned.. ;)
ps... Kaylee's graduation went as follows
1. a girls luncheon with Kay & my Mom
2. mani/pedi's with the girls
3.getting ready three hours early
4.arrived two hours early to get a seat
5. watched my sweet girl shine!
6.prayed hard about the parties that followed
7.two hours later she came home, snuggled in her bed safe and said the party scene was not for her. What?!
8.answered prayers...thank you Lord. I am blessed :)

  1. What a blessing! And yes...I believe you CAN turn that bed white!

  2. Hey!That is also one of my summer projects....AND I think it is the exact same bed. Maybe I should just let you take the lead on this!!!! (My summer starts on Wednesday)...Then I will be ready to paint! Lori L

  3. I just went through that two yrs ago...It was so emotional all around...I felt drained by the end...It was one of the best experiences of my life...So glad that she has such a good head on...I wonder where she got it??? hmmmm??? ;)

Love the white bed idea...I think it is going to be FANTABULOUS! Everything you touch turns to gold...

  4. Are you REALLY going to paint that bed white??? I have one very similar and the engineer that I am in love with, would NEVER give in to painting the wood!! Smaller things, yes, but not that! Can't wait to see it!!
And your daughter's response??? Shows how awesome she is, GOD is, and what great parents she has!!!

  5. Smart girl!
She may have been drained by all the excitement of the week and it finally got to her.
That bed would get a good painting in creamy white!

  6. i've got a 4 poster bed very similar to that one and i've been trying to figure out what i want to do to it too. it's cherry and i can't decide it i want to do roughed up white or just a more natural wood.....more power to ya, i think the rule of never painting wood is out the window these days!

  7. Susie, I'm 56 and you never cease praying for them :) and it only gets better. I've followed you for some time now and love watching your babes and you interact. And of course, your decor tips!

I have a four-poster bed that I absolutely love. I found it on craigslist and bought it from a lady in Pville. The dark stain is a really good balance to light walls and lots of painted wood in our bedroom, but these pics have me dreaming of white paint! I've been reading for a little while but this is the first time I've commented. I live in BR and work in Ascension so it's fun to read the blog of a local lady! Keep up the good work and congratulations to your daughter!

  9. I just found your site and just have to say. . . I am loving the bed. I grew up in a dark wood kind of home. Everything was D.A.R.K. Which is fine, but not in my home. I love white creams and am always so amazed at how bright and cheery a coat of white paint makes something. So, I think your bed looks amazing.

    Congrats to your graduate!

  10. Congratulations Mom!!! Graduation is as much a celebration of you as it is for her. You did a fantastic job! I LOVE your "new" bed.

  12. Speaking of just adding your favorite jacket, Bandage Dresses Lubov almost always wears Herve Leger separates.Perhaps because of Herve Leger Replica how we show our pieces, or just the assumed way of Herve Leger, Oktoberfest outfit people tend to wear our collections together, as one piece. But I like them as separates; it’s almost cooler,” she says. “I would put this jacket with a pair of jeans or a work skirt. And of course it all but if you’re in L.A., you just wear Herve Leger Dressesthe skirt with a T-shirt. The great thing about Herve separates is that it adds high fashion glamour to any number of basic pieces you already own.”depends on where you live,

Thanks for stopping by. It's always so nice to hear from you.
