Hello Summer!

(Brittany & Maddy)

It's official...

Summer is here!

We celebrated Maddy's last day of primary school (tears included) on Thursday.

Last night we kicked off summer with a church fair!

St Marks is walking distance from my sister Missy's house so we took a golf ride there.

It's a small fair with just a few rides and chances are you will meet all your neighbors...ha!

I am the official purse and phone holder....

I. do. not. do rides....at all...nope.

I can't tell you how happy I was when Maddy's friends arrived.

No fun spinning your brain alone I always say~

Just gave me time to wonder how in the world did I forget to pull her long hair up.

Can you say a gazillion knots?

Funnel cakes and cotton candy...God is good!

Unlike our state fair, this is a dry fair and limits the riff = family friendly :)

I have to say summer is my favorite time.

Our summers are hot and humid but I would not have it any other way.

Nothing like swinging on your porch watching fire flies glow and frogs sing.

Do you have fun summer plans?

xoxox Susie~

  2. How fun...I remember the days of hanging out with your best school friends :) We'll be hanging out in the dry, hot Eastern Washington weather! Take some pics of the fire flies...I have yet to see any in person. Happy start to the Summer.

  3. Susie,
Our summers are identical to yours here in Houston. I would have it no other way! When you grow up here, you get acclimated to it and there is no way to get in a swimming pool unless it is HOT outside. Otherwise, I freeze! Probably has to do with the fact I am aging by the minute and old people get cold easily.
    Happy Summer, Friend!

  6. Good morning Susie, The fair looked like great fun! Here in Portland NSW Austalia our summer is dry and hot, and instead of listening to frogs we have cicada's. As we are heading into our winter here could you please post lots of summer pictures just to remind me that winter doesn't last forever!! I love your blog and look forward to reading each time you post something. Thanks for keeping me company even though we are on the other side of the world. Have a great first day of the holidays. Tracey. PS ? what is a funnel cake.

I still laugh out loud when I think about the time you made a sign for me, I put it up and later, you left a comment on a post with the sign and said, "Love your sign...did you do it?" I laughed sooooooo hard.
You silly silly girl, you. :))

  11. So much fun! It reminds me of the festival in Steel Magnolias! :D We (meaning Sound Man and me) don't have lots of plans, but Kiddo sure does! He's going to youth camp for the first time (moving up to Jr. High just like Maddy...haven't cried yet but he hasn't moved up at church just yet), and he will be having what they call Boot Camp for the upcoming 7th graders. PLUS he will be helping the kids' campers with their service projects during their camp week. He's going to be one busy little beaver! Lots of time for Momma to head to Hobby Lobby, Michael's, JoAnn's.... :D
