Unspoken words...
A week ago Saturday we sat down to eat pizza and watch a movie...Happy..Content.
In the blink of an eye....
I found myself comforting my children in a hospital waiting room.
Promising that their Daddy would be OK.
Moments later whisked away to a larger hospital across town.
Brain Bleed was about the only word I could grasp. It was bad.
The Doctor gave little to no chance of survival without surgery.
With surgery came uncertainty of life and the quality of it.
Numb.
Helpless.
How could they go on without their Daddy.
Their Dad was my high school sweetheart.
We married.
Two years later we had Jesse and just a short 23 months later came Kaylee.
Four years later we divorced.
Over time forgiveness and healing filled the gap...I like to call it Grace.
We remained friends and moved forward.
We both remarried and had little girls
(which by the way happen to be best of friends)...weird I know.
Once again...Grace.
Fast forward to today.
He is holding on.
Although he is unable to speak or move his right side he is here!
He is fighting.
He recognizes his children! Hallelujah!
His eyes twinkle when he sees them :)
Jesse and Kaylee have awed me with their outpouring of love for their Daddy.
They have become young adults that have made us proud.
Marc has stood by our side through all of this.
He has poured out love and understanding.
Grace.
For now we wait. We pray.
It has not been easy to share such a personal part of my life here.
But..
Prayer is needed and I know you girls rock in this department :)
I'm standing firm on his promise....
His Grace is sufficient!
It's gotten us this far :)
Susie~

ReplyDeletePrecious Lord Jesus, only you can truly understand the hurt and ache in the hearts of this dear family. We know this because you are the One who is holding them close, ministering grace to them, guarding them with your peace. We pray for a miracle here, for this man to be restored to good health and for his children to be able to enjoy his wisdom and presence for many more years. We trust in your goodness, Father and we ask all these things in Jesus name, Amen.

ReplyDeleteThe Grace of God is great, isn't it? Thank you for sharing your story and your faith. 18 months ago, my husband, then 28 years old, was found to have a massive blood clot in the back of his head (2 1/2of the 3 sinuses were completely blocked off!) for no known reason. We were told by a stunned neurosurgeon that he would have been dead in less than 24 hours if we hadn't caught it. It is a terrifying thing. Though our situation was able to be resolved, I feel your heartache, pain and fear. Our prayers are with him and your family through this difficult time. God bless!
ReplyDeleteGrace.... that's all that needs to be said.
ReplyDeleteGrace.
I'm praying for all of you.
ReplyDeleteWe are studying grace in Sunday School...you are teaching a wonderful lesson on grace in action! Bless you.

ReplyDeleteYou and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
ReplyDeleteOh, Susie...I'm praying for your family! You know you are loved and prayed for in this blog community!
ReplyDeleteOh no! You are in my thoughts and prayers.
ReplyDeleteI just recently discovered your blog, and I'm sorry to hear about your family's struggles. I love how you've shared about grace. Have you heard Phil Wickam's song, Grace? It helped my daughter, it spoke what she was thinking, really, when her husband of only a few months, a US Marine, was sent to Iraq on his first deployment. It has helped me reach to God when the tears were flowing. God is faithful, and I will be lifting up your family in prayer, asking for recovery, strength, and His peace for all of you. Thanks for sharing about His Grace in your life.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing! I know it can be hard to share "personal" but it is comforting in a strange way. One it gives us a chance to share others burdens in prayer and two for those of us struggling and reading nothing but "happy - put together" lives on blogs in reassures us that we are all in this together...that we aren't failing somehow and that yes, His grace is sufficient for all of us!
ReplyDeleteThanks again and prayers and love are sent your way.
So sorry for what you are going through. Good luck!
