Because you matter.

                                                                   This was me last year.

                                                                       Dorky I know....

I just thought that this message is worth repeating..

I brought my camera with me today so I could take y'all along. Funny how my camera makes me feel like I have all of you in my pocket...I like that and I needed your support today. Today I had a date with a Robot!

Now I know it's not really a Robot, it's a fancy boobie x-ray machine that could possibly save lives!

I just very well may be the first women ever to ask the nurse for pictures. I know it's kind of a personal issue, especially to spread your business to the world but today YOU'RE important to me! Girls have to stick together and if that means taking you along with me to show you it doesn't hurt and it only takes a few minutes out of your day it's so worth it to me!

It also allows me to ask you for a favor. Would you girls join me here and lift up a very special lady in prayer.

This is my best friend Misty and her Mom Jane. Jane is having surgery Friday morning to have her breast removed due to cancer. Would you join me in prayer to lift her and her family up. I can only imagine what she is feeling . If you have some inspirational words for her and would like to share them please leave her a comment. I will make sure to pass them on to her before her surgery.

Mrs. Jane {aka Nana},Misty and her four sweet granddaughters here are reason enough to spread the word! Show someone you care and become their "boobie buddy". Take them to meet the robot and a fun lunch. It just may save a life~

**If you or someone you know is walking the same steps as Mrs. Jane and would like to be added to the prayers, just leave your name in the comments and we will be sure to lift you up in prayer. Thank you~

PS. Mrs Jane is doing well!

  1. Clever, witty and smart way to draw (pink) focus to a very important issue.
Very happy to read the last paragraph and would like to add my friend Cher (The Texas Woman blogspot) to the list of survivors. She went through surgery and the aftermath this past year. I'm happy to report she defeated the beast, but prayers are still needed to keep her cancer free.

Thank you for this timely message!

  2. That is so great that you did that, we do need to be at each others side, as humans, as women and as friends for this. My grandma and aunt both had breast cancer an have since passed on due to other complications.

I pray that surgery goes well for Jane and God gives her and her family an friends all the support, courage and love that they need.

  3. what a sweet tribute to your friends momma!
    love it.
i've not had the robot yet....
i think this next year will be the year.

  4. Thank you so much for this post.
I am a survivor, and I am so happy to hear Mrs. Jane is doing well.

  5. I love that took pictures of this!! I go tonight for mine.
I will abolutely say a prayer for her. A prayer for courage for the family too.

  6. Thank you Susie, for this reminder...I am praying for Mrs. Jane, that the surgery will be successful, and that she and her family will be comforted throughout her ordeal.

  7. I've just recently found your blog and it always brings a smile to my, it brought tears to my eyes. What a beautiful post...Mrs. Jane is in my thoughts and prayers.

  8. Wonderful reminder. I haven't had one since last August since we have been busying moving to two different states. I have had two lumps removed, one at 23 yrs. old and another at 39 yrs. old. I have been having mamos for years now.

I will be praying for Nana on Friday. She is beautiful as is her family. Gorgeous pictures.

  9. I was scared to death to get a mamo for the first time last year and after I finally did - I felt pretty dumb for being so scared! In reality I felt more empowered than anything else.

Sending prayers up for Jane. I hope everything goes well and she feels calm and comforted.

  10. Sending prayers and thoughts to Miss Jane. My sister had breast cancer and she won! :)

Thank you for this beautiful post!

    May God bless you...

  11. I had my date with the robot last month. Every year is a must. I will keep Jane and her family in prayer. Hugs, Marty

  12. You are such a beautiful soul, I will be sending my prayers and positive energy out into the univers for Ms Jane and her loved ones! Love to you.

  13. I remember this from last year and defanitely worth repeating! GLad miss Jane is doing well!!

  14. It is posts like this that remind me why I love you so much! You are an amazing woman!

I'm always amazed by the stay at home Mom/work outside of the home Mom battles and all of those others that pit women against each other. What is the point in that? We should all be supporting each other and not tearing each other down!

Obviously you are one of those that supports each other! Thank you for caring and reminding everyone else to care as well! I care, and will pray for your sweet friend's Mom!

  15. I'll be praying....for Jane!!!

    I had my date...with the robot...October 1st!!

Hoping many who read your post...get their appointment in!

  16. no one likes to do it....but everyone should! quick easy test. WIll say a prayer for your friends mother.....we have all lost too many people to these horrible disease!

  17. It's one of those things that are easy to put off. Thanks for the nudge. I just love that you asked for your pic to be taken in the process, bet that gave them a giggle for the day. Wishing for the best for your sweet friend.

  18. Thanks for the reminder. Glad to hear she's doing well.

  19. I'm thinking good thoughts for Miss Jane and (holding my hands over her head) wish for her peace and joy. It remains here, for all who seek it.

  20. Love the post and it reminds me right now to call my doctor and set mine up.

Also sending prayers to Ms. Jane and her family and friends!

  21. HI Susie! Oh, my tiny little clever one! This was a great post all pinked up and yes, I'll be praying for Miss Jane. I remember you mentioning her before!
    Be a sweetie,

    Shelia ;)

  22. Thanks for posting your "boob smooshing" experience! Tell Jane good luck - I've been there myself...scary process, but she seems to have a lot of people praying for her - I'll be one of them! Jane - keep your head held high and push through it - you're stronger than you think. Cry when you have to and laugh as much as possible - you can do this!
Best of luck tomorrow - Andrea

  23. Susie, I will definitely keep Jane in my thoughts and prayers. I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in April of this year and had a bilateral mastectomy in June. The cancer was discovered on a routine mammogram. I am so blessed it was found early and can now say I am cancer free! :) your friend I say:“Fight like a girl”. I can think of no better way to fight – intense, tenacious & unwavering, with heart, and with your eye on the prize.

  24. How thoughtful and such a sweet reminder to all of us to get those mammos done every year! Praying for Mrs. Jane. Isn't she a beautiful woman? May God hold her in His hand on Friday!

  25. A beautiful post! I will hold Mrs. Jane up in prayer as well.

My 29 year old daughter found out she was having a baby girl (my first grandchild) on September 13th. Minutes later she found out that she has Stage 3b Melanoma. 2 surgeries later, she and Reese are doing well. All her lymph nodes under her left arm were removed and cancer was found in 3 of them. We don't know yet what kind of treatment will be necessary. Being pregnant complicates things a bit.

I would appreciate prayers for my daughter, Lindsay, and her baby girl, Reese. Thank you!!

  26. Praying for Jane and Kitty and all those who need prayers today. It is wonderful that you are not only taking care of yourself, but also thinking of others.

  27. Thank you for sharing this.
Last year after having my mammogram, they thought they saw something and sent me to the surgeon for an ultrasound. It was heart wrenching for a few days. It turned out to be nothing but I believe heavily in having a mammogram.
I will be praying for Jane!!!

  28. I'm ashamed to admit I haven't had a mammogram in 3 or 4 years. I know. I need to do it. This was a sharp reminder. Thank you.

  29. Best wishes and tons of prayers for your friends.

  30. I remember when you posted and I thought it was such a great attention grabber to spread awareness.

Please pray for my sister who had a mastectomy last year after finding out she had breast cancer. Last month was the one year anniversary. She has recently found out that she has a tumor in her uterus.
Not sure if it is benign at this point.

  31. O, Susie..thanks for doing this. I know there's ladies out there thaat are scared to go...and scared NOT to go. This may help them.
I just had mine done and got an A+.

Prayers for full recovery for Jane.

  32. i wish i lived closer just to give you a hugg. awesome repost.

  33. Love your blog. So appreciated your unique post today. I was diagnosed with colon cancer last fall. The cancer no one really likes to talk about. So I'll give a shout out to all of you - get a colonoscopy. The earlier the better. Do not wait until you are 50! This cancer is very aggressive in younger people.
Ms. Jane - may God bless and keep you and yours. A beautiful family.
    My verse from The Message:
"I keep a grip on hope." Lamentations 3:21b
I'm sharing it with you Jane.

  34. we talked about this kind of thing last night in our home group....
it's very scary and hard to go through this kind of stuff that happens to us in life. I've found that instead of asking "why?" that 2 Corinthians 1:3,4 comes to mind. So we can be the Jesus in a tangible way to someone else later on, traveling the same hard path. We go through some of the yucky crap in life to have compassion and so someone else out there has a buddy who 'gets' what they are going through. I will be praying for Mrs. Jane. Hugs to you all.

  35. Oh Susie you sing it loud girl Save third base get your boobies checked:) My grandma is a survivor and will be 91 in January.. We lost a wonderful woman here in Ohio this past year Stephanie Spielman to breast cancer as a Buckeye we bleed pink for her cause.. May God lay his hands on the Doctor Friday and give Nana Jane peace and comfort as she travels down this road to become a survivor...Fight like a Girl Ms Jane I will be saying a prayer for you and all the others

  36. Nice reminder for women. I am defiantly sending my prayers to the heavens. The photos are gorgeous btw, looks like Nana has been blessed.

  37. Oh, Susie. How wonderful that the day I finally click to read your blog you've reposted this.

Momma went to be with Jesus Monday. Her battle with cancer is finally over.

  38. You, my dear, are precious!

    m ^..^

  39. what a great post and reminder to women. I am having my first appointment for this on Monday. Maybe I will have to blog about too!

  40. Unfortunately, we're all candidates...
We as women have a language of our own...
We can understand and support each other...
Positive thoughts and hope, all the way from Greece...

  48. “Women really dress based on their body shape. For example, Herve Leger Dress I’m very athletic. I have bigger shoulders and bigger bust bandage dresses herve leger and smaller in the hip area. So when it comes to Herve Leger, Dirndl Dress for me it’s really about A-line dresses because it gives me a hip but minimizes me on the top.”While there’s no doubt that Lubov and her husband, Max, design for women everywhere, you can’t help but imagine her stamping Herve Leger Dresses a mini-claim on a certain white dress and capelet pair when it was in its early stages. It’s a look we can imagine every woman instantly coveting when it’s available in April.
