My Father's Daughter...

This is why my house is never clean.

" Stuff "

Do you have this problem?

It stems from my parents.

Just when I think I have gotten over it...."stuff 'iness

My Father calls...

Guess what I have for you?

What Dad?

A friend was throwing away some old wine crates.

I thought you may be able to use them in your little Etsy store.

Wine Crates?

How many?

Just a few.
I will leave them on the porch for you.

Thank' s Dad.

Really.

Now I have old wooden wine crates.

You know I wont be able to rest a wink this weekend.

I will be spending it wondering

what on earth can I create with these...

If you have any ideas

I would love to hear them...

Maybe you can ease my A.D.D

Heidi is already helping...

She likes this one on top.

It has a broken sideboard.

Just the right height for her a bed.

Thank you Heidi !

Oh.

And  thank you Dad.

I am so my Father's

Daughter!

** Dont forget if you have yet to enter for the pillow giveaway it's not too late**

Just drop down one post and say Hi!

Seeing you with your daddy made me tear up...you see, my daddy wasthat way to..always thinking of us and what we might want and need. He passed away three short years ago and my sister and I miss him so much every day. Thanks for sharing your daddy with a fellow "Daddys Girl".

Oh boy...those are dreamy! Dads always seem to know best :) I think you should work your "sign" magic on those babies and make some fun personalized crates to hold towels or blankets. You could always hang them on the wall and use them as cubbies too...in a bathroom or garden shed, although I think I'd want to show them off more than that haha. ANYWAY...sorry to ramble...I'm sure you'll come up with something cute! :)

I took four small boxes to Goodwill on Monday. I felt so proud I was decluttering. On Tuesday 5 large boxes were delivered from UPS from my Grandma. She is downsizing and sent me part of her collection of antique dolls.
I might need your wine crates for storage. :)

What neat boxes! A local wine bar used these boxes as drawers in a dresser. Or maybe you could hang them on the wall as shelves. So cute!!

I love it when Dad's get involved with our junkiness. I have a Dad just like your Dad. He is always thinking of me. Some stuff I like and some stuff, well, I could do without. But I love the fact that he gets me. Your Dad is a treasure. You are one lucky girl...

Those are really great! I'm sure you'll come up with something wonderful. I'm the same way here, we're always in the middle of a project and there are tools piled in a room or I have stuff sitting waiting to be priced and packed for my store. The dining room corner never looks clean. At least it's all for a good cause, just like your beautiful crates!

Well, I created a fairy garden out of an old box like these. If I had that many, I might use them as "shadow box" type shelves and showcase things on a wall. Gotta love Dad!

Could they be outdoor planter boxes? Maybe trays for serving iced cold lemonade in the summer?

Dang, I thought they looked pretty cool right where they were like - "oops, we just had a killer party last night and forgot to put them away."
Nice Daddy you have!!!

Susie, if all else fails, upcycle them for your signs! What great wood!

I use a Pepsi crate at school for extra handouts/worksheets for when kids are absent. I had mine forever when I saw PB started carrying them!

I've got that problem in my house, too--always filling it with stuff. But my stuff isn't nearly as pretty as your stuff! That's so sweet that your dad thought of you when he came across the crates. Looking forward to seeing what you do with them!

What a great dad you have! My dad has always loved flea markets & garage sales. Yes, I am also my fathers daughter. He accumulates things he thinks I might like. Everytime I visit he has trinkets for me.

Oh, Susie! How sweet of you Daddy to bring you crates! He know of your talent and I'm sure you'll figure out something! I guess you could take your sewing skills, make a cushion for that top crate so little Heidi could have a soft bed! :)
You have your Daddy's smile!
Be a sweetie and Happy Mother's Day!

They would make great roll out storage for under cupboards or under beds if you pop some small castors on the bottom. I am sure whatever you decide, they will be just fabulous! Hoping you (and your lovely Dad) have a wonderful weekend ~ Tina x

Those are really cool! I would totally turn that one into a dog bed. The rest, not so sure! I can't even decide what color to paint my walls!

oh, love those boxes. you could sell them just as they are! (if you can part with them!) who could resist an old rustic box?!
I'd hang some on the wall, store some books/mags in them, add rollers to the bottom for toy storage,... can't wait to see what you do with them, your dad will be so proud!

You are to funny! I get tired of 'stuff' too:)

The crates are great though and you will make something great with them.

Happy Mother's Day.

Dad's are the best, aren't they?
lucky score. I love ol' wine crates.
I have seen folks take them apart and make table tops out of them. They would be great left as is to store magazines, or to hold towels in a bathroom or guest room. You are so very creative, I bet you have ideas rolling around in your head already.

It looks to me that your house is immaculate! I'm hard pressed to believe that you have too much clutter. I can see why you'd want to decorate with those crates though. They have a rustic appeal to them. My first suggestion would be to either sand them down and polyurethane seal them, or paint them to add a contrast to your decor. I would test the colors a bit on one before making the final decision. After that I think you will have new ideas.
