I dont think I will ever get tired of grain sacks and linen.
No shortage here
but oh the prices were high....sigh.
I would love to cover my chairs just like these above.
If you have tried it I would love to hear your advise if you have any.
Yummy~
I would love to have curtains made out of these!
Purses!
Check out the color on this bench, it's just the perfect blue!
A few of you asked about Round Top.
Here is my low down.
1. It's a small town nestled between Houston and Austin.
2. Held in the Spring and Fall every year.
3. No crowds just open fields
4.Prices vary from the very $$$ to the afforable.
5. The fun is in the hunt!
(one booth may have a 5.00 item then two tents down you may find that same item for 45.00)
6.Book your hotel rooms early!!!!
7.Wear your favorite comfy shoes
(you just may have to step over a cow pie)
Just kiddin'
8.Bring your camera!
9.Let's meet!
XOXO Susie~

ReplyDeleteBeautiful treasures Susie! I love how you always scout out my favorite things.
ReplyDeleteI'd have had to bring that lantern (3rd photo) home with me, whatever the price!
Sounds like I might have to invite myself to my friend's home near Austin in the Fall...
Oh my Susie! These linens and grainsacks are gorgeous!! You would never find anything like that here in Australia and online shopping just wouldn't have the same atmosphere (esp the stepping over cow pies!). Lucky you to get to see these treasures. Thanks for sharing with us. Hope your Kaylee is doing well and wishing you a wonderful week ~ Tina x
ReplyDeleteHow fun! I love shopping at flea markets in fields! Really! Great photos of fabulous goodies!

ReplyDeleteGlad you had a good time. We had fun too but spent most time (and money) in Warrenton. For those wondering, the fair is generally the first week of April and first week of October every year. I am still thinking of all the things I wish I would have bought!
ReplyDeleteRound Top is also a very quaint country town with some good food! Try Royer's for the BEST pies! May not be cow pies, but watch out for the horse pies!
ReplyDeleteSounds like fun! Wish I was closer to join in the fun:)
ReplyDeleteThese are the best pictures!!!!!! And so many ideas too. Thanks for sharing:)

ReplyDeleteI LOVE your photos!!!
ReplyDeleteI have an obsession with grainsacks, I do have quite a collection. I love seeing all these photos. What is the average price for one for one of these?? I have been on the lookout for more! I am afraid of the price though since you said they were high. Just curious!
Thanks for sharing all these pictures with us!!
Take Care,
Maria
Sigh! Unfortunately that is much too far for me here in little Rhody. How I would love to be there and see all those treasures.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see what goodies you purchased and what you will be doing with them. There must be hundreds of ideas whirling in your head.
Ruth
I love grain sacks too...and old linen sheets. In Paris, they are spendy....
ReplyDeleteHow far from Austin? I just might have to be flying in in October. I keep putting it off, but it's time. Right after Junk Bonanza, when I have cashola...
LOVE those dining chair covers! I've yet to see some that would go over my dining chairs until these. I have the kind that have the hump in the middle, too, and I NEVER see covers for those in catalogs.
ReplyDeleteThe linens and grain sacks are wonderful! I would have loved to take the whole stack home with me...the possibilites! Here is one of my favorite blogs that took original grain sacks and covered two chairs

ReplyDelete'k. I'm slowing being talked into going to Cambodia in October so... next spring. The pictures are amazing! I think I might have to watch the drooling I'd be doing - be buying things because I had my mouth hangin' open in the wrong place at the wrong time! Oh what a glorious place this looks and sounds to be!
ReplyDeleteI love it! I never get to go to Marburger because I always go during preview week and the blog party, but I am thinking in the Fall I will go for both! So...next time we HAVE to hook up! LOL!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Adrienne
I want to come to Roundtop sometime. Sounds like such fun. My friend went last year with her sister and had a ball. Love & blessings from NC!

Those puppies sure are cute, I know it was hard to let them go, I want let our collie have puppies because I know that I would just end up with a house of dogs, because I would never let them go. I LOVED those German grain purses ... I turned around to tell my mother I was getting one, turned back around & realized they weren't just $35. Those were beautiful.
ReplyDeleteOh, what fun! I love all your pictures, Susie!
ReplyDeleteHope you're rested up by now~You are too funny with the cow pies!
Thank you for the tips! I dream of going. Thank you for that. ~lulu
ReplyDeleteI am right there with you on the grain sacks. Why on earth are they sooo expensive? I hate it when I love something and can never afford it. Thanks for sharing the eye candy, though.
ReplyDeleteHi Susie,
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by my place and leaving me a sweet comment!
I so appreciate it! Blessings to you!
PS: you can come live in my header any time. :)
Love that booth! We got there about 4pm Saturday and well of course it was the last day and people had started packing up and well who knew it was going to be a record day of heat at 87!! My men lasted all of 45 min but I was able to jump out further down the road when I saw some stuff that caught my eye. Choke choke at the prices. The Hubster said it was soo a chic thing and to find a chic to go with so I am hoping to go in the fall for the full experience!:) And yes I agree book early because prices get way high and filled super fast!
ReplyDeleteOooh those purses are oh so perfect!
ReplyDeleteSusie,
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking me along with you to ROUND TOP:) I luv this show...it's been years since I have gone...I so need to go again. Come by and enter my giveaway...I think you will like it:) Hope you have a FUN weekend!

Hi, I made the German grain sack handbags that you see in the picture. To my delight I came across your blog and saw them. Every bag is unique, and these have been sold. But if anyone is interested, I'd be happy to send pictures of my current handbags.
ReplyDeleteFor all those drooling out there, I know some of the ladies who sell the drool-worthy things! First, the bags...you can get them at

If you are worried about the price think of it this way. It will be one-of-a-kind, it will wear like iron and you'll have it forever, and, last but not least, you will truly, truly, love it.
The other bit of info...I recognized my friends booth in those photos! Theresa Smith of Time Worn Interiors! She has a blog and lists all the places she'll be showing her fabulous, perfect, beautiful wares! She can be found at:
