***You can find this great fan here****
Decorating has always come natural to me.
It's my passion.
I see something I love and I work towards it.
My style surrounds our space and my family feels at home.
They never question the paint choice even if it is the 16th color on the wall.
They love me and trust me.
They even help at times.
BUT....
I have met my match .
My husband is not backing down.
Nope
He is standing firm.
I even promised to throw away my flannel jammies!
Nope
That man and his fan are not to be parted.
So I searched.
and searched and....
I found this...
Oh Glory Be!!!!
You like?
He Does!
I think we have found our middle ;)
Just between you and me girls....
I will still be dreaming of this sweet chandie
and I'm soooo keeping my flannel jammies! ;)
xoxox Susie~

It is very pretty and has that vintage look...I guess sometimes we just have to meet in the middle...yay, you still get to keep your pj's!! Can't wait to see it in your room.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Victoria
where? where? give us the details on the lamp! I love it! can't wait to see it installed. -Denise
ReplyDeleteBig ugle tv's and ceiling fans - two of the ugliest things ever created - why do men like them so much?! If you have to meet in the middle, I like the one you chose - it can be mixed in with so many different styles. You're a trooper!
ReplyDeleteKeep the jammies! :)
Sarah
LOL..I'm glad you found something he liked...gotta find that middle ground sometimes.I'm glad you get to keep your pj's too!!
ReplyDeleteSorry to say, I'm taking hubbies side. Your pick makes the girl in me all mushy feeling but the fan makes the practical side of me come out.
ReplyDeleteCurrently, I have a horrible, ugly fan much like your old one but I love it. It keeps me cool and the stuffy air at bay while I sleep. I wouldn't be without it.
I love the new fan you picked out and I'm hoping to talk my hubby into replacing ours with some as gorgous as that!
Love the ceiling fan! So perfect. My hubby loves his too, and I must admit that in our builder subdivision home with master over the garage, heating and cooling our bedroom is challenging. I don't think we could live without a ceiling fan for air circulation winter/summer either. But that beauty would be sooo worth it.
ReplyDeleteOh for the day when they make a chandelier/ceiling fan combo!!! Good for you & the jammies! ;) Beth
ReplyDeleteLOVE the one you found! I do have to tell you though - I have seen ceiling fans with a chandalier beneath it. It looked gorgeous still! Keep hunting if that's what you really want- either than or get the one he likes and then hang a little chandie over your side table? Maybe a little reading nook in there with a chandie?? ;)
ReplyDeletehaha too cute ;)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful...My choice for sure.
ReplyDeleteVery nice, and when you start having those hot flashes you will be glad that fan is up there. Jackie
ReplyDeleteHubby and I were just talking about ceiling fans the other day.
ReplyDeleteMy eight year old daughter wants to redo her room and we were looking at cute chandeliers. His only question was, "but what about her ceiling fan?"
They do love those fans!
It's a great fan, sorry about the chandie.
ReplyDeleteAngela
PERFECT!!! We share the same struggle! hehe, I think mine might consider letting me hang the chandie..I said MAYBE...lolol..Perfect choice, so cute! ~lulu
ReplyDeleteOh, I like it. I have never seen a fan look so vintage. Nice choice.

My husband feels the same way about his fan. I just bought a smaller chandy and put it in the "sitting area" and swagged and plugged it in. It's on my last post if you want to check it out. We both got what we wanted!
ReplyDeleteSusie,
ReplyDeleteyou are so funny. Love the new fan. I love that chandie too....but the really wonderful thing here is you get to keep your flannel jammies. : )
I didn't think he'd give up that fan, but at least you found a compromise!
ReplyDeleteAlthough, that chandelier would be soooooooooo beautiful!!
Hey, that's not a bad compromise! ;)
ReplyDeleteI usually get run of the decorating around here, but there's one issue about which my husband refuses to budge: the big clown picture.
http://getyourmarthaon.blogspot.com/2010/02/of-clowns-and-painted-dressers.html
I still consider myself blessed to be able to go about my business and decorate to my heart's content without much "interference." But as soon as the basement gets finished, that clown picture gets a new home. :)
That is awesome. I'm like everyone else...we'd love the details!
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Laura
well... look at the bright side... he doesn't want a recliner in the bedroom! That ceiling fan will look great, and I dare say it is just as stylish as a chandie!
ReplyDeletetoo cute!!! Bravo to you for finding the BEST ceiling fan ever!!! Love the nautical/fisherman look of it!!!
ReplyDeletethe chandie is gorgeous of course...maybe in another room!
xo,
LuLu
That fan is awesome! I love it!
ReplyDeleteYou are so cute! I love that you are keeping the flannels, and I also love the compromise. Nicely done girl. :)
ReplyDeleteSUSIE! Where on earth did you find that? I want to change ours and.. sigh... we have to have a fan too-- I found an outdoor fan just like that but it was in a different finish that wouldn't work in our room.
ReplyDeleteThat would be PERFECT.
xo
I'd take a little industrial glam alongside my flannel pj's any day. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat choice!

The fan is a great compromise. My hubby just loves "his" fan too. Says he can't sleep without it. I am willing to lose sleep for a little chandy bling...so why can't he?
ReplyDeletehaha...mine won't part with his fan either!
ReplyDeleteI love that fan. Great compromise!
ReplyDeleteI am just like you....don't like ceiling fans but my hubby will not give them up. I do like the one that you picked out!
ReplyDeleteYou're so funny Susie! I love reading your blog posts. I won't get a pretty chandelier in my bedroom either, but that's ok with me. Our bedroom is upstairs and I can't even imagine not having a fan in there. I just have to choose a tropical wooden looking fan to go in our bedroom.
ReplyDeletevery cute story... it hard but sometimes we all have to compromise...
ReplyDeleteHe can have his fan and you can have your chandy - they have chandy light kits that you can add to the fan. Here is only example:

Susie I have got the ceiling fan for you. Check this out http://www.irawoods.com/Casablanca-K44V-Four-Light-Victorian-Fixture-w-Center-Stem-Mount-For-S101-S106-Shades?sc=2&category=547342

I want this light kit to attach to my ceiling fan because then you can have the best of both, a chandie with a fan. I have the same problem, a hubby that won't give up his fan. Let me know what you think of these?
Uggh. . . I did a whole post on this topic not too long ago! It's titled "Finding Sleep With a Fan" if you want to read it. I hate ceiling fans (although I do have to admit that you found a good one). Nice work. Where'd you find it?
ReplyDeleteI don't know that I could part with my flannel jammies for anything! I love that you found a great ceiling fan-- that is the greatest ceiling fan ever!
ReplyDeleteI do love a good chandy though-- is there another place in the house you could sneak it into?!
Hugs,
Jill
I love the ceiling fan you found! : ))))
ReplyDeleteThis is such a cute post!
It took my husband a long time to agree to crystal chandeliers. I had to agree that we would get a t.v., we had been without a t.v. for a long time. and he could watch u.f.c. Now guess who likes the chandeliers? : ))))
Have a great week!
Take Care,
Maria
Oh, Susie girl, I have missed reading your posts! I have sat here for the last few minutes just soaking up all the last few. Love the slipcovers, LOVE the ceiling, praying for Kaylee.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you found a middle ground for the fan. I love pretty chandies, too, but a ceiling fan is just the thing for warm nights. Yep, gotta go with the hubs on that one. : )
I love the fan! They do have ceiling fan chandelier light kits so if your hubby doesn't want to give up his fan and you don't want to give up girlie you can have both!

Oh, so many people hate ceiling fans but we LOVE them. It keeps the house so much cooler in the summer and I love their breeze. Glad you found one that will work for hubby AND you.♥
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely LOVE IT! I need to look at the site. We have been looking for a ceiling fan with unobtrusive light fixture for 3 years!
ReplyDeleteLove it! And I think it will blend well with what you have going on...go for it!
ReplyDeleteOh my word. Wallpapering the ceiling? You are SO brave!! :D It does look fantastic...great job!! And, I don't think that I could get away with taking down our bedroom ceiling fan...my hubby loves it! I think that your lovely ceiling fan choice is a great compromise! Hugs and God bless.
ReplyDeleteNow THAT is a good, vintage looking ceiling fan! Please tell us where you found it???? (I think you may be credited with saving marriages around the world with this one!!~!!!!!)
ReplyDeleteWhere did you ever find that chandie?! I'm in LOVE with it!!!
ReplyDeleteOH I like that chandelier!! My husband would also not part with the fan!
ReplyDeleteDon't hate me, but I gotta say I'm with your husband on this one. I'm so hot-natured that I'm the one who would be lobbying for keeping the fan! I just have to be cool when I'm sleeping. But it needs to be a pretty fan, for sure. So you've done a great job of meeting in the middle, I think--you can have good looks and that wonderful breeze! :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous chandelier and fan! Tought choices. I replaced the fan in our guest bedroom/my office with a chandelier. I don't regret it at all. I LOVE it. I have a standing floor fan that I use when it is hot (which is a lot of the time since it's FL. LOL)
ReplyDeleteHubby will not let me change our master bedroom fan for a chandelier though. I love the fan you found!
The silver is pretty eye catchy-BUt Boy do i love that white fancy shmancy chandelier- I WANT IT -it would not match a thing in my home -but i love it..
ReplyDeleteGreat Taste my Friend..
Karryann- looking forward to following you..
Gosh. As much as I love the chandie, I would have to choose to keep the fan. I live in Texas and our ceiling fans, I'm sure, have saved us LOTS O MONEY on the electricity bill. The fan you've shown is great. Maybe the chandie can go in a different room?
