Vintage Keys in Black..

It's Topsie Turvie day here!
Do you remember those days in school?
You would wear your clothes all backwards
and have the time of your life!
I have recieved a few request to make the Vintage Keys in reverse.
So here you go...
It was kinda fun!
I get so use to doing the same thing over again,
a time or two I caught myself thinking I had made a mistake..ha!
I love it in reverse.
It looks just like the Vintage Name Signs.

I have a question for all of you that sew.
Do you spend most of your time fidd a lin' with the needle and thread?
God Bless those of you that can sew!
It's a gift.
I think I will just stick with ruffles for now~

Hi Susie- your vintage keys are fabulous!
To answer your first question~ yes, when I use the sewing machine I spend more time threading and re-threading than I actually do sewing. Not true when I sew by hand.
Your second question~ I hadn't planned on going to round top but since you'll be there I just might! It would have to be on Saturday. Will you still be there?
Hugs~

I hate, HATE sewing along and then realizing I ran out of bobbin. Ugh. Irritating. It doesn't take long to fix it's just one of those irritating little things. Threading the needle and putting the bobbin take no time.

Love the signs!

Oooh - it looks great. I love both versions. I think you need to stick to your new sewing adventures - with your creativity - I can only imagine what you would come up with.

LOVE IT! Looks great in reverse, actually. You are so talented...I can paint a dresser or huge china cabinet...no problem...but what you do, that is a gift, truly! ~mary~

You know when something's broke and they say
'Have you tried turning it off and on again?'
Well with sewing it's the same but with threading the needle! (On a machine that is)
Anything going a bit wrong, try unthreading it and rethreading it. Almost always works for me, so yes, I am ALWAYS fiddling with the blooming needle! hee hee.

I love this sign either way! I do sew and yes there are many times I spend more time unraveling my needle and thread than I get sewing done! lol I guess it just comes with the sewing. :)

You did a great job on your ruffles...I soon will be posting a series on "You Can Sew"...hope to see you there. ;)

Hugs,
Victoria

Another great work of art!

My new sewing machine has an automatic needle threader and boy do I adore it! The eyes are getting a bit old and it threads lickety split. Now hand sewing...sigh.

Amanda @ Serenity Now said...

I "lurve" it, to quote Thrifty Decor Chick. ;)

I do spend a lot of time trying to get that thread through the machine needle when I am sewing...but I prefer that to the measuring/cutting part of sewing. ;)

Love the Decor! said...

I think I spend more time picking out the seam than getting anything done! : )

I love, love, love these signs of yours. This one is purty, but I still love the original one you did the very best!

Dear lordie me! I for the life of me could not figure out your" in reverse" blog post today. I kept looking at the sign and all of the alphabet looked in order to me. I even went and read all of the comments to make sure it wasn't just me.... thinking maybe you posted the wrong photos or something. Then I went to your Etsy store and NOW I get it! The colors are reversed... I am such a dork.
I must say... I like the Black background better. I think you one upped Pottery Barn. Great Job Susie!

This is amazing, once again! I love it. Such a cool idea! And, I'm am by no means a great sewer, but in answer to your question, yes I spend at least half the time fidd a lin' with the stupid thread:)

Hi Susie!
Love the vintage keys in reverse. It really pops.
To answer your question about threading. I used to years ago, but now have a newer machine that automatically threads! Love it, it has been a lifesaver.

Well how perfect is that. I am posting my vintage typewriter key post tonight with my party. I came over to let you know I linked over to you. It was shown on another blog but she took all the info out about you and the links--sorry about that, I had no control over that part but I knew I would repost it.
So come on over and see it and don't forget to refollow me.

i prefer to let my sewing machine do most of the sewing work!!! but love handwork. the vintage keys in reverse looks so good. i have to get back to making the one i started when you first put up the directions to make it, ages ago.

I love this sign! Great job.

Love the original and love it in reverse! And I so agree with you on the sewing. I spend all my time messing with my needle and thread (and trying not to mutter four letter words...)

Blossoms and Vintage said...

Oh my goodness....that is too funny. I can tell I'm about to pass out asleep because I just could not figure out how the picture was backward. I thought you were talking about letters instead of paint colors and that you posted the wrong picture or something! Ha! 5 minutes later, I noticed you said "in black." Well, I like it both ways!

Good night! :)

The keys are beautiful both ways! It's hard to choose which one I like better.

I'm with you when it comes to admiration for those who sew. I can sew a straight line, and that's about it. But even for that elementary process, I need help. My sewing machine is striped with painter's tape--I use the tape as a guide to keep my lines straight!
