Shabby Shades~

Last year when I moved into the little cottage she had no style.
Not really.
Just plain cream walls with a dash of black here and there.
I did add a few of my treasures but she was still lacking that special something.
You know....
Dont get me wrong...
I lovvvvve these shades but they just would not fit  with the shabby look we are going for.
I have always adored the Shabbiness but really could not pull it off inside my home.
I think the males here would put up a fight soooo...
What better place to get my Shabby on than in my cottage.
I bet you know what I will be working on next...
You may not have even noticed that the cottage was painted.
It's only a shade or two lighter but boy does it make a difference.
Thank goodness my neighbor is a painter and has a store full of paint for me to play with!
He had the whole cottage painted in like 20 minutes!
He used a sprayer.
If not... I would still be in there painting my heart out.
Madison and I are planning a little party as soon as we finish our Shabby makeover.
Today I have orders to paint and curtains to attempt.
I'm really loving this sewing stuff....

  2. Great place for those ruffles!!!

I do like the softness those shades bring to the room. Shows the crystal off!

Me too as to residing closer. Always fun to glean off each others energy!

    with love,

  3. I so want to do a playhouse in my back yard for my grandgirls...You Inspire Me. More! More!

  4. Looks to me like you were a very good sewing student!

I know what you mean about the shabby look--I admire it, too, but it's not very masculine. As the lone female in this house, I've never felt that it was a look I could use. But if I had a little cottage. . . .

I look forward to seeing what you're up to out there!

  5. Looking forward to the big reveal!! :)

  6. Very cute! Love them!

Oh, and can you send your neighbor/painter my way. I have a nursery to paint and my husband's dragging his feet. ;)

  7. So fun! I love them...When are you going to show us the sofa? :)

  8. Those are so sweet--I love them!

  17. Susie, great job!! I love how cute these are! They definitely add the shabby look you want. I have always tried to balance the feminine and masculine in our home being that we have 4boys & 1 man in the home. I finally have given in a little to make it a little more sweet...they don't seem to mind and still leave their boy touches here and there...lot's of legos, dirty know. lol :) Have a great day!

Oktoberfest Dress These pieces are more like sweaters than anything else—they’re not cut-and-sew, Herve Leger Dresses they’re knits—and that’s why they fit so well. People are so surprised at how well Herve Leger fits, and I tell them it’s all about how the dresses are constructed.”And finally, we dress for what we love too. For what we just can’t resist.
