Cloud Nine...that's where I'm sitting.
Can you guess?
Can you spot it?
Fluffy white.
Perfect cording.
Oh the kick pleat!
I'm sure you may have guessed it by now.
My red couch is no longer thanks to Ikea!
I ordered a slip cover off of Ebay.
I had a few worries because ...
1.My sofa was from "Freds" and was not sure it would fit.
2. My sofa was Very Red and was not sure it would conceal it.
Bright huh...:)
Well it fit...almost.
It's a bit short meeting the floor
BUT...
I will have a cute fix for that.
I must add the quality was top notch too!
If you ever wondered about their slip covers let me assure you
They are Great!
Mine came new sealed in the orignal box for $30.00.
Oh Happy Day!
So now you have seen a peek of the "new" sofa.
Wait till you see what I put on it.
It just may include an awesome
Giveaway~
Xoxox Susie
Your sofa looks great. I can't believe Ikea has such great prices. I have never been to one as we don't have them in TN. Maybe someday...

ReplyDeletePeople think I'm crazy, but I just added a 2nd Ikea white slip covered sofa to our family room. I have had the other one for 6 months and LOVE it. Amazing quality and great fit. Yours looks great can't wait to see what you do to add length.
ReplyDeleteCan't beat that! Basically a brand new sofa for $30!
ReplyDeleteWow! I think I'm loving it! I can't wait to see what you put on it!
ReplyDeleteI admit I'm a bit jealous...your house looks like our previous house w/the pale colored walls and wood floors (ours were almost black) but I just love the look of the paint against the trim....Oh, how I miss our old house!
Looks fabulous.... now the trick is to keep it clean!
ReplyDeleteYAY Susie-it's fabulous!! Ebay AND Ikea are the best. :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks GORGEOUS!!!
ReplyDeleteSusie, it is gorgeous!!! I am excited for you. :) Now how often will you have to wash it? That would be my only hindrance, as much as I want to go white....
ReplyDeleteOh Susie, that slipcover turned out just wonderful. I never had a slipcover fit like that. IKEA is definitely on my list for a visit :)
ReplyDeleteI am really liking this white look but having a hard time figuring out how to pull it off? How do you pick white, creamy white, soft white???
Have a wonderful day
Looks fabulous! Maggie would have it full of wee pooch hairs that are black and grey.
ReplyDeleteFits perfect in the room..
and give aways.. well all love em!!!
with love,
Olivia
Looks fabulous! Great touch! :)
ReplyDeleteI love this! Just LOVE the white! Can't wait to see "the fix"!! I have 4 cats, one of whom is black and three men in my household and am always afraid to use light colors, but I SO yearn for them!!
ReplyDeleteThis is making me yearn MORE!
Lou Cinda :)
Thought it was a new one...30 bucks is some thrifty savings. Looks great!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy for you! What a difference it must make in your room.
ReplyDeleteI've been working on sewing a slipcover for my sofa for the past two weeks - it's getting a little old and I almost wish I would have gone with a purchased slipcover. oh well, live and learn I guess.
I have a great day!
its beautiful.!
ReplyDeleteThanks goodness for Ikea! Your couch looks wonderful!
ReplyDeleteGenius! I wonder if they have a lil somethin somethin for my sofa...I'm running over to Ikea and Ebay.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun...I would love a slip cover for my 90's floral sofa :)
ReplyDeleteI am loving the white!!
Wendy
I am sure you will love that slipcover. I have the Pottery Barn sofa with white slipcover in my sunroom. When it gets dirty I just take it off and throw it in the washer and dry it and slip it back on. So easy.
ReplyDeleteWhat brand is your soda? Mine is a Rowe. So, let me get this straight. You used an Ikea slipcover for a non-Ikea sofa, right? Did the slipcover from Ikea have a name?
ReplyDeleteThanks so much-
XOXO
I paid $1000 for my white Rowe slipcover and another $800 for the chair/ottoman.
Love, love, loving me that white slip cover. It is perfect. I need to look into getting me one. If I found it for $30 I would do a happy dance for sure.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see your fix and what you're teasing us with.
Ruth
now we have the same sofa!!!!!
ReplyDeletesee...we are twins seperated at birth.
xo
Love the slipcover !!!
ReplyDeleteWho was the ebay vendor that you got your slipcover from?
OH WOW!! It looks fabulous!! I have wanted a white slipcover couch for years! Ever since I first fell in love with Rachel Ashwell's first Shabby Chic book! I never have bought one, though, because no matter how many people say otherwise, I cannot believe you can just wash away all the terrible stains my 3 boys and hubby may inflict on it! But if I found one for $30 like you did, I would definitely try it!! What a great deal! It's just beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteit looks great! now I wonder if one of these would fit on my couch
ReplyDeleteOh no, you too have crossed over to the light side. I love the look but it scares me, we are messy people. I am not sure if even being able to wash it would be enough for my messy crew. Oh but it is sooo pretty, I hope you enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteCha Cha
How fun! I just love my own white slipcovered couch & I know you'll love yours too! :) I also liked seeing a glimpse of your new mirror with the vignette under it!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Stacey
Looks great, Susie! As does your new mirror. And I love that your little dog posed so perfectly for a pic!
ReplyDeleteSusie I am kicking myself! Why oh why did I not check ebay!!! I just bought a canvas colored slipcover at Target yesterday for $49. It's ok, but I REALLY wanted white! My couch isn't IKEA...it's my grandma's old sleeper, still in great condition. Maybe it's not too late to find the packaging in the recycling bin. Off to check ebay!
ReplyDeleteI share your bliss Susie!!! My last post was about the 2 white slipcovered sofas I recently scored off ebay for a song. I can't stop staring at them and I can't believe the difference they have made to the feel of the room.
ReplyDeleteSo excited for you!!
Angex
Oh I can hardly wait to see the rest!!! I love the white. So perfect for Spring. :)
ReplyDeleteSusie, It is absolutely wonderful, I am in love with it! Looking forward to seeing what else you are up to.

ReplyDeleteI want some new slipcovers for my furniture too because we will not buy new furniture because of the dog! Ugh..my husband and son's BLACK LAB that sheds everywhere and sneaks up on the couches.
ReplyDeleteSo....."White" is out for us.
Any thoughts for me my friend??
Our walls are green.....

ReplyDeleteI just bought couches from Ikea and love the slipcovered look!! I have 2 covers that I bought from the store and i just found a set that was discontinued on eBay. I LOVE THEM!!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was at Ikea in Portland 2 weeks ago they had the white covers on clearance. The love seat covers where $11 and the sofa was $29. Did I buy any white? Nope, it scared me too much with my 5 kids....... Maybe when they get a little older.
Totally cool, Susie! Love it. Can't wait to see what you'll do with the bottom of the slipcover... Ruffle? Hugs.
ReplyDeleteOh, Susie~
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful slipcovers! It makes me want to slipcover a couch in my house...Can't wait to see your "fix"...Blessings to you, sweet friend. I love my visits here!
I really need one for a chair and ottoman that is brand new but I am not crazy about the fabric. Yours looks great.
ReplyDeleteI always think that people who do white furniture are so brave. I just know with my children, with my family, it would not stay white very long! ;)
ReplyDeleteyay susie! you joined the club! they look beautiful! cant wait to see what you do! i have a feeling of what it might be! it will be fun to see if i am right! miss you! xo
ReplyDeleteseriously? $30 - that's it? WOW...was it used? That is really tempting. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Susie, thanks for stopping by and leaving your great comment. I "think" I know what look I want, now to achieve it.
ReplyDeleteThis is where I need you assistance, please :) I could not figure out where I saw that wonderful mirror tutorial, it was you. Anyway, I want to make my cabinets looks like the finish on your mirror. My husband said to ask you, because he just wants to get it done at this point.(He is done experimenting I guess ;)
You could email me or post it, if you would be so kind and have time.
I also love that screen door/chalkboard.
Thanks for always being so inspiring and sweet.
LOVE IT! That slipcover is great and so perfectly fitted.
ReplyDeleteSusie,
ReplyDeleteIt's so funny because my SISTER loves your blog and always says to me on the phone (she lives in Iowa) "Did you see what Susie did to her house?" Or last night was......."Did you see the new thing Susie did to her couch?"
Cracks me up. But yet...she will never comment on here because she doesn't know how. I just got her to join Facebook. HA!
Maybe one day.....for now we will chat about what great things you have accomplished this day.
Wow! I have been thinking about slipcovering my sofa because it's pretty ugly:) I am so glad to know Ikea has good ones! I think your couch looks amazing and I can't wait to see what you put on it!
ReplyDeletethere is nothing cozier to me than a white slipcover! And for 30 dollars? well i've never heard of anyone quite so lucky! enjoy your comfy couch!
ReplyDeleteI love your slip cover!!!! I cannot believe the price, that is amazing. The fabric is gorgeous! I want one.
ReplyDeletexx, Michelle

It looks great! I'd love to hear your fix for the length. I also have an IKEA cover on a non IKEA sofa. It's a bit too short on mine too.
ReplyDeleteOk..so I am starting to feel like all the cool kids are getting slipcovers. ARgh! This reminds me of the leather jacket incident in 7th grade! I had a chat with Mr. B and he is just now ready for the commitment to white slipcovers. Haha...he is going on a trip in July. Wonder if I can find someone to whip up a few for me? (Afterall I think that project may be a tad too much for my sectional.)
ReplyDeleteLove your Cloud 9! Love it! And can't wait to see what crowns this gem.
Cheers~
e
Beautiful. Your living space looks so clean and comfy! I would not survive with white...I'm a total slob when it comes to spilling food on myself...ha ha...
ReplyDeletesuch a treat getting a comment from you. you have one of my favorite blogs! thanks for visiting my blog and your kind words. -Denise
ReplyDeleteI love a pretty white couch. My kids would have it covered in chocolate milk stains in under an hour!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what ya have planned!
Thanks for your sweet words on my little blog. The garbage man came, so I missed the chance to return my target slipcover...oh well. I've been lying on it all day fighting a nasty cold. I'm hoping to head out tomorrow for a few white pillows. Look for pics this week!
ReplyDeletei can't remember who left the comment, but the ikea sofa that slipcover is made for is called EKTORP. i bought one a few months ago when they were giving away a free white slipcover if you bought the couch. so i bought the couch, with the white slipcover, and got a free white slipcover too. AND, the white (and only the white... the other colors and prints are pretty spendy) is only $49.00 brand new.
ReplyDelete:)
It looks beautiful! What a great price too!
ReplyDeleteSusie, that's a great way to get a new look!
ReplyDeleteI had to miss out on a girls shopping day at Ikea today :( and that slip cover is exactly what I would have been looking for! I guess I need to check ebay! Yours looks fabulous! Theresa
