Cloud Nine~

Cloud Nine...that's where I'm sitting.
Can you guess?
Can you spot it?
Fluffy white.
Perfect cording.
Oh the kick pleat!
I'm sure you may have guessed it by now.
My red couch is no longer thanks to Ikea!
I ordered a slip cover off of Ebay.
I had a few worries because ...
1.My sofa was from "Freds" and was not sure it would fit.
2. My sofa was Very Red and was not sure it would conceal it.
Bright huh...:)

Well it fit...almost.
It's a bit short meeting the floor
BUT...
I will have a cute fix for that.
I must add the quality was top notch too!
If you ever wondered about their slip covers let me assure you
They are Great!
Mine came new sealed in the orignal box for $30.00.
Oh Happy Day!
So now you have seen a peek of the "new" sofa.
Wait till you see what I put on it.
It just may include an awesome
Giveaway~

Your sofa looks great. I can't believe Ikea has such great prices. I have never been to one as we don't have them in TN. Maybe someday...

People think I'm crazy, but I just added a 2nd Ikea white slip covered sofa to our family room. I have had the other one for 6 months and LOVE it. Amazing quality and great fit. Yours looks great can't wait to see what you do to add length.

I admit I'm a bit jealous...your house looks like our previous house w/the pale colored walls and wood floors (ours were almost black) but I just love the look of the paint against the trim....Oh, how I miss our old house!

Oh Susie, that slipcover turned out just wonderful. I never had a slipcover fit like that. IKEA is definitely on my list for a visit :)
I am really liking this white look but having a hard time figuring out how to pull it off? How do you pick white, creamy white, soft white???

Have a wonderful day

I'm so happy for you! What a difference it must make in your room.

I've been working on sewing a slipcover for my sofa for the past two weeks - it's getting a little old and I almost wish I would have gone with a purchased slipcover. oh well, live and learn I guess.

I have a great day!

I am sure you will love that slipcover. I have the Pottery Barn sofa with white slipcover in my sunroom. When it gets dirty I just take it off and throw it in the washer and dry it and slip it back on. So easy.

Beachbrights said...

What brand is your soda? Mine is a Rowe. So, let me get this straight. You used an Ikea slipcover for a non-Ikea sofa, right? Did the slipcover from Ikea have a name?

Thanks so much-
XOXO

I paid $1000 for my white Rowe slipcover and another $800 for the chair/ottoman.

Love, love, loving me that white slip cover. It is perfect. I need to look into getting me one. If I found it for $30 I would do a happy dance for sure.

OH WOW!! It looks fabulous!! I have wanted a white slipcover couch for years! Ever since I first fell in love with Rachel Ashwell's first Shabby Chic book! I never have bought one, though, because no matter how many people say otherwise, I cannot believe you can just wash away all the terrible stains my 3 boys and hubby may inflict on it! But if I found one for $30 like you did, I would definitely try it!! What a great deal! It's just beautiful!!!

Oh no, you too have crossed over to the light side. I love the look but it scares me, we are messy people. I am not sure if even being able to wash it would be enough for my messy crew. Oh but it is sooo pretty, I hope you enjoy it.

Susie I am kicking myself! Why oh why did I not check ebay!!! I just bought a canvas colored slipcover at Target yesterday for $49. It's ok, but I REALLY wanted white! My couch isn't IKEA...it's my grandma's old sleeper, still in great condition. Maybe it's not too late to find the packaging in the recycling bin. Off to check ebay!

I just bought couches from Ikea and love the slipcovered look!! I have 2 covers that I bought from the store and i just found a set that was discontinued on eBay. I LOVE THEM!!

When I was at Ikea in Portland 2 weeks ago they had the white covers on clearance. The love seat covers where $11 and the sofa was $29. Did I buy any white? Nope, it scared me too much with my 5 kids....... Maybe when they get a little older.

Hi Susie, thanks for stopping by and leaving your great comment. I "think" I know what look I want, now to achieve it.
This is where I need you assistance, please :) I could not figure out where I saw that wonderful mirror tutorial, it was you. Anyway, I want to make my cabinets looks like the finish on your mirror. My husband said to ask you, because he just wants to get it done at this point.(He is done experimenting I guess ;)
You could email me or post it, if you would be so kind and have time.
I also love that screen door/chalkboard.

Thanks for always being so inspiring and sweet.

Susie,
It's so funny because my SISTER loves your blog and always says to me on the phone (she lives in Iowa) "Did you see what Susie did to her house?" Or last night was......."Did you see the new thing Susie did to her couch?"
Cracks me up. But yet...she will never comment on here because she doesn't know how. I just got her to join Facebook. HA!
Maybe one day.....for now we will chat about what great things you have accomplished this day.

Ok..so I am starting to feel like all the cool kids are getting slipcovers. ARgh! This reminds me of the leather jacket incident in 7th grade! I had a chat with Mr. B and he is just now ready for the commitment to white slipcovers. Haha...he is going on a trip in July. Wonder if I can find someone to whip up a few for me? (Afterall I think that project may be a tad too much for my sectional.)

Love your Cloud 9! Love it! And can't wait to see what crowns this gem.

Cheers~

Thanks for your sweet words on my little blog. The garbage man came, so I missed the chance to return my target slipcover...oh well. I've been lying on it all day fighting a nasty cold. I'm hoping to head out tomorrow for a few white pillows. Look for pics this week!

jOoLz said...

i can't remember who left the comment, but the ikea sofa that slipcover is made for is called EKTORP. i bought one a few months ago when they were giving away a free white slipcover if you bought the couch. so i bought the couch, with the white slipcover, and got a free white slipcover too. AND, the white (and only the white... the other colors and prints are pretty spendy) is only $49.00 brand new.
