I'm Diving In!

Oh girlfriends what a week this has been.
I can share with all of you that I have rolled over quite a few bumps in the road this week. Any road worth traveling will have it share of bumps...Amen.
I'm just going to make sure my seatbelt is securely fastened and I stay focused on my destination ahead. Speaking of staying focused, have you gotten your sweet hands  on this book?
I rushed to claim my very own with a sick child and a car in tow...Really!
Was it worth it?
I knew this book was written just for ME and some of YOU when I read these words...

She had me pegged..
Do some of you worry about this same silly thing?
I'm learning that this insecurity is not a pretty thing and it goes way deeper than I ever thought imaginable.
Can you believe I am only on the first few chapters!
Let me be the first to say...Beth is Deep. Her books and studies...Deeper.
I'm facing those ugly unmentionables (is that a word?)
and searching inside for that beautiful girl that the Lord say's in in there.
It's not too late to join me. I can assure you that we will hit some bumps on our journey.
Broken cars.
Sick kids.
Never ending bad weather.
But it's so much fun when you have a Sister in Christ right by your side .
I'm planning on joining Beth here.
I have room for you if you care to come along.
Buckle up! It's gonna be bumpy but so worth the ride~

  1. I know this is far for you, but she'll be signing her book at the Lifeway Christian Store in Cool Springs (south of Nashville, TN)! Love the quote you picked out!

  2. Way to go Susie!!
I am in the middle of her Breaking Free study and boy can it be bumpy too!!
Can't wait to start this book as well!!

  3. Man...thank God that He wants so much more for us than we want for ourselves. I find myself settling for so little sometimes and yet, I long to LONG for Him. You know? So often I think of the man who said to Jesus, "I believe, help though my unbelief!".
I'm so thankful for your transparency, Susie and that God is at work in all of our hearts, revealing the areas that need to be changed by truth!
You are a blessing to me!

  5. i really want that book! i think it was written just for me too! it's a hard thing to admit, but i struggle so much with insecurity! actually i think most women/moms innately struggle with it in some way or another. i cannot wait to read this book and see how God can change me with it!
i'm up for the journey with you!! =)

  6. I absolutely love Beth Moore! She has helped me discover so much about Christ's love for us & how we can have a closer relationship with Him. Love her!
I'll have to find that book & dive in also. Thanks for letting us know how it's going.

  7. Just found my book at front door yesterday.. preordered from Amazon and I too dug in. I am in Chapter two and will be joining you!!

BTW.... the conference in April is simulcast to Fla Blvd Baptist Church. I will be there too and will look for you!

  8. Holy moley! That little sentence pretty much sums up my entire being. ;)

If I weren't already doing a Bible study, I'd hop right on board! I am definitely buying the book though. :)

  9. I have never read anyting by Beth Moore but have heard great things. Is there a book I should start with? Thank you for sharing the LPM blog.

  10. Wow, I'm shocked at all the comments with women and their insecurities. It's sad that there are people in the world that just don't think before they speak and hurt others feelings.

I just want you to know I showed my mom your blog and there was a picture of you on that particular post. My mom's comment was "she's so cute and wow, does she have it all together-nice blog!" She was shocked when I told her you were dealing with a few insecurities.

I tend to be the direct opposite of insecure. I really don't care what anybody thinks of me but God. I know that sounds blunt, it's just who I am... I figure if I am doing my best to please him then that should be enough. I come from a long line of secure women (some be it, too secure-I laugh) I am however very protective of my friends and family and will be the first to come to their aid if something is spoken wrongly of them. So nobody better be saying anything bad about you Miss Susie-If they do, send them my way-I'll straighten their messed up heads out!

    Love you girl,

P.S. So many people have jealousy issues-Instead of lifting others up they put them down...Such a shame. You just keep your head up and smile-We adore you.

  11. I have GOT to get this. I'm almost at the end of my very first Beth Bible study and I love it. She is so amazing and real. I won't ask you to wait on me Susie. You dive in!!

  12. Thanks so much for sharing this book and your heart. You are not alone...Most of our insecurities, I believe, are rooted in pride. Deeply rooted in some cases and it's something I have prayed against many times. Pride can come in so many forms.

I will be on the look out for a copy for myself. What a neat lady Beth Moore is.

    God bless you, friend.

  13. Oh, how I wish I would have bought her book when I had it my hand the other day...I laid it back down thinking I really had to many books that I was reading. I guess I will have to stop and pick it up when I am back out....thanks for the inspiration!!

    Hugs to you Susie..Tami

  14. I just got home from bible study, we're doing Beth's "breaking free" study and MAN O MAN! I love that God has used such a sweet southern woman to PACK - A - PUNCH!!!!

  15. Beth is awesome and such an inspiration for christian women. Her new book sounds amazing and I'm sure will help many.

A dear friend of mine is a "siesta" and goes to all of the siesta events. She just got back from Houston where Beth and her daughters had a weekend siesta event at their church for the women who joined in to memorize Bible verses last year. My friend is still walking on air let me tell you!

  16. Hey Susie,
I saw on my friend's facebook page that Beth will be in Hattiesburg, MS on Saturday, April 24th from 8:30am-3:00pm for a workshop. Since Hattiesburg is only about 2 hours from you, I thought you might want to attend. Here is the link to register: http://firsthattiesburg.com/things-to-do/beth-moore-so-long-insecurity/.

    Good luck on your journey!

  17. Oh boy Susie. I really need this book. Thank you (sincerely) for sharing with us. I just read the last post and noticed that Beth will be in Hattiesburg?? I need to check that out. I am 30-45 minutes south of there!!

    Sincerely ~ Trish

  18. this looks like it is going to be an amazing journey

  19. Oh my sweet dear friend, You have had a hard week. I have my book started and my seat belt on. I am ready, ready to face the raw ugly truths. I am ready to go Deeper Still ( haha, I crack myself up ). You are in my prayers.

    Cha Cha

  20. Ohhh, this sounds so good! I just blogged about this thismorning! Can't wait to get it!! Thanks for sharing!

  21. I just ordered this book today. I can't wait to read it. There are several women's bible studies at my church, one of which is a year-long Beth Moore study. I really wish I had signed up for that one. I had no idea who Beth Moore was until 4 months ago.

  22. Girl I think Beth has on the dress I wanted from Boden(two posts ago)... Happy Reading to ya..See ya Sunday for the Super Bowl. Geaux Saints!

  23. I had never heard of her until you mentioned her book. I was at Sam's yesterday and saw the book but I didn't buy it. I hope that you enjoy it and talk about it some here for those of us that don't have it.

  24. Girl, based on your recommendation, I pre-ordered the book. Mine hasn't arrived yet. I cannot wait to read it. I have struggled with insecurity so much, and I want to get some freedom from it. The kind of freedom Beth has--freedom in Christ!!

    Hope you're doing great!

  25. I am thrilled that you are on the journey of God drawing you near to Himself!!!! I know it can be a difficult journey, but you know it it is worth far more than we can imagine.

Your work is an inspiration to me, and I just adore your blog. Thanks!!!!

  26. I SO can relate to that statement. I think a majority of people do (men & women alike)...we build up those walls and put on our masks and don't allow people to see the ugly parts at times...in fear that they won't like us. I think in reality, when we let down that facade and take off that mask, we find that others will do the same and it's a very freeing feeling.

  27. Guilty here also. That line sums it up. I'll have to look into that book, I've heard great things about her!

  28. Ooooooooh I just saw yesterday that she has this book out. I LOVE her studies. I'm going to have to get it, too. Seems like a good topic....

  29. Just waiting for my book to arrive in the mail!

  30. Hi Susie,
Bumps aren't fun but we always gain from them most of the time. As one sister in Christ to another, stay steadfast and yes I am going to read Beth Moore's book. I have struggled with insecurity my whole life. I am going to email you some info.

  31. Susie...You are a breath of life with this post. I will be diving in with you...just have to make a trip to mardel to purchase said book first:)...thanks for sharing...I look forward to reading and am never disappointed I did!

  33. good for you susie! i need to go get me that book! i think i could use this book! i am already reading one book but maybe i can add another? i cant wait to hear what you think! xoxo

  34. I just got the book too - God is definitely working on me in this area. I am excited to get into - not quite as excited at how God wants me to change! Change isn't usually easy!

  35. I am so excited for you to be reading her book. I know it will be life changing if you let it, and more importantly, the Lord, work in your life.

I am so proud of you, my friend.

From one insecure sistah to another! : )

  36. I neeeed this book. And so appreciate this post! CYBERHUG.

  37. i just joined her book group today!!!! i am so buying that book tomorrow!! maybe we can "chat" about it some!!

  38. Besides the fact that Beth Moore is so good at making me see things that bring me FACE TO FACE with God, I believe this has the ability to be life changing if we are open to God changing our hearts.

  39. Have been following you for a little while now and want to say thank you for your beautiful photos and your wonderful thoughts. I am in a huge transition in my life right now and it is just one day at a time and I enjoy all the inspiration that others have to share and thank you for mentioning Beth Moore's book as i could probably bury myself in it at this point. I use my blog as somewhat of a gratitude journal and as my eye on the prize so to speak and I love women who inspire which in turn empowers others. Many do not realize the impact that they have and I just wanted to share your little impact on me. Thank You and keep sharing those beautiful pics.
    Always, Shelly

  40. I just finished it! I just love Beth Moore! Keep up the inspiring blog girl!
