Joy...pass it on!

Joy! Sometimes we pack it away with the Christmas decorations and are left with an empty house and heart.

This year I'm celebrating Joy year round and you can to! The bible makes a destinction between happiness and joy. Joy is the stronger of the two. It is defined as one of the fruits of the spirit in Galatians 5:22

We can spread our Joy all over including our home.

I like to add touches of greenery wherever I can.

I try find neat things to remind us that spring will come !

I know it has been a long hard year for a lot of us. This year I want to give more than inspiration ,I want to spread Joy with those I love. Who say's you cant touch someones heart while sharing a good paint chip!
So that by God's will I may come to you with Joy and be refreshed in your company.
Romans15:32

What a blessing your words are. I do believe that Joy is always avaliable to us, we just refuse it so often, and it is so much more real that happiness when we do chose it. God bless you and your family.

You have echoed the sentiments I too feel in my heart. It makes me sad to hear of so many bloggers who take everything down the minute after the gifts are unwrapped. Tomorrow I am doing a video on a tablescape I created for Epiphany and explaining why our family chooses to celebrate it.

On a completely different note. Back in Sept. you did a post on a wall hook using burlap webbing. I commented about black and tan webbing I had seen and finally made it to the store to go pick it up. If you never found any please email me at arrangingelegance@hotmail.com as I will be happy to send you some as a thank you for all the inspiration you provide to me.
Keep it up. :)

Hi Susie
Someone above said they sensed a new renewed spirit in you and have to say I sense the same thing. Perhaps this also has something to do with you closing your etsy shop & not offerring advertising on your blog anylonger??

God Bless You

You spread JOY all year long in my world. Love ya, looking forward to our travel adventures in 2010!! Have you reflected on 09? I have! Most of my vacation time was spent with you either at the camp, Blissdom, and yes the trip of THE YEAR Roundtop, Texas. Ya just gotta love a road trip. Maybe we could invite some of your followers to one of our girl weekends. What ya think?

What a great post topic, so true. I just accidentally found an article earlier today about how to handle the after 'Christmas/holiday' blues. I suppose after spending time with family and enjoying time off, many feel sad once it is over. But, I believe (like you) that joy should be year round and thank you for the scripture too. :)

Your right, and thanks for the reminder. Joy is a fruit of the spirit. And we will be known by our fruit so best keep joy out and about:)

I'm with Missy! : )

Thank you for posting this. We are facing possibly the toughest year yet of our marriage. I read so many blogs about looking forward to 2010 and think, "I am not really all that excited about it!" Thank you for reminding me to be joyful, no matter my circumstances!

I bought one of those glittery signs in cursive at Hobby Lobby on Christmas clearance- it says LOVE and I am keeping it hanging up this year- last year was such a difficult year and we have a family member fighting cancer, so I decided this wuld be perfect. You are so right about packing it away...we should actually just be UNPACKING after Chritmas, since Christ reminds us of that every year...and we seem to lose it by mid Febraury in the dreariness of winter....

Anyhoo, I am planning a trip to Paris in April, flea market shopping, and I know you have this love for French too, so just wanted to invite you along....it's on my business blog (iowajunkgypsies.blogspot.com)...ad then you can beat cabin fever by planning for PARIS....

Of all the posts I have read in a while, this is my favorite one. I feel the same thing. During the Christmas season everyone is in a kind, JOYous and giving mood. It is like some people just save that mood for 4 weeks of the year. Imagine if we all had the "Christmas" spirit all the time. Not only were your words and thoughts completely eloquently and beautifully said, but your picturs are just gorgeous. You need to sell prints of those! I am very much looking forward to your year of joyous blogs!! Thanks for (even more) inspiration! Lori
