It was a close call for my little cottage. The huge pine tree that once stood next to it came a tumblin'down.
It landed on top of Alleys house! Thank goodness she was not in there due to the cold weather. She was all snug next to a warm blanket.
It has rained here almost everyday and our rivers are full. That means our backyard meets up with the swamp.
Somtimes when the water gets high we break out the boats and enjoy the nature around us.
For now I will just enjoy "nature" from the back door. Today the sun is out! How's the weather around your nest?

Thankful for the sunshine finally! Glad the tree missed everything!
ReplyDeleteIt was a beautiful day here in Central Texas!!!
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine if it hit the cottage!!
ReplyDeletebecause where the heck would i stay when i come visit??

So scary! I have always admired the beauty of being next to a forest, but when the wind starts up, I think twice..

The weather was very nice today. I worked out in the yard, cutting down plants that didn't make it through the cold snap. I have two huge pine trees in my front yard. If they should fall, t'would probably land on my bedroom or bathroom. Hope they never do! Swamp, huh? I have weird feelings about just the word swamp. Must be something from childhood like Tarzan or something!

Glad your little hideaway survived. Around here it's cold, cold, cold. We've got ice & up the road a bit has 8" of snow. We're hunkered down with chili and Christmas movies - not so bad.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend.
I am so glad that it didn't hit your little piece of heaven. That would have been sickening. This Floridian that has been transplanted into the north is going to be getting snow tonight and tomorrow. YIKES!
ReplyDeleteIt's rainy, rainy, rainy here in central Alabama :) and cold!! Love the photos of your backyard!! BUT do you have big snakes?! and alligators?! Like Brenda, just the word 'swamp' makes me want to pick my feet up and put 'em on something tall :)
ReplyDeleteSunny California is damp and cold... But I <3 it!
ReplyDeleteIt is cold and SNOWING here in Virginia...we're suppose to get more snow in the next 3 days than we've had in awhile. I would NEVER wish away Christmas snow, but this time I am b/c I had Christmas shopping plans for this weekend, and my sis is supposed to fly in from TC tomorrow. :( Praying she makes it safely. :)
ReplyDeleteGlad everything and everyone are okay! The weather here today was beautiful, cold, barely made it to 25, but beautiful. The snow is coming tomorrow! Enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteYIKES!!!! glad all is okay.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad your cottage and especially Alley are all okay. That is too scary!
ReplyDeleteWe have had highs in the low 50's and lows in the 20's to 30's....brrrr
How scary for your little dog and cottage... I am very glad both are safe!
ReplyDeleteThank goodness your dog wasn't in her house. That would've been terrible! Glad everyone and everything was ok.
ReplyDeleteSo glad the tree missed your little house, and your "baby" was inside. Last year, we lost a pine tree in the backyard. It landed on the fence! Not a fun adventure and a little $$$!!!
ReplyDeleteWe closed school early due to inclement weather--still no snow!!Just rain and a very COLD wind! Yuck!!
Love ya!
Susan
So sorry to see what happened to the kennel! :-( And I'm SO glad your cottage went unscathed. It rained all day here in Prattville, but I think it's supposed to be sunny tomorrow. Yay!
ReplyDeleteLayla
CLOUDY!!! No sun for us until Monday! I grow weary!!
ReplyDeleteSo glad the tree missed you!! We have tall pines all around our house and I am always worrying one is going to fall on us!
Take care and dry out!
Lou Cinda
Glad all is ok....been raining a lot here in Georgia also...I have a pond in my front yard...will have to share a pic on my blog later.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
Oh my goodness, I'm so glad the tree didn't damage anything that can't be easily replaced. What a scare!
ReplyDeleteI hope you are having a wonderful weekend! We're waiting to see if the snow is hitting us and how hard. Dh and I are supposed to go to a holiday party tonight and it's not looking good. Crossing fingers we can still go, my parents were supposed to have all 3 kids overnight!

We're in Louisiana too, and it's been a rainy, sloppy mess for weeks, but today...it's glorious!!!
ReplyDeleteThank goodness your sweet doggie is okay. I am so glad all the rain has stopped! Have a great Christmas!
ReplyDeleteAdrienne
It looks as if someone was looking after you when the tree came down but I'm sure your lovely roses (in pics) will just be delighted with that little exra light and sunshie now created.
ReplyDeleteAs for the weather-here in Ayrshire Scotland UK it is cold, wet, sometimes snowing and would chil you to the bone, and thats just today, but it's winter after all. Merry Christmas to everyone. Molly
That is a THANK YOU LORD moment.
ReplyDeleteIt is pretty warm here. My boys had to walk a dog this morning and said it was cold-but it's all relative here in SW FL.
I have had so many Google problems-and it isn't over-Google has no idea how to solve the problem.
Sorry I haven't been by much-I decided after weeks and weeks of non-stop Google issues, I am throwing my hands up and making much needed visits.
I hope you have a Very Merry Christmas and hope you can come by for a visit. I will continue posting, even if it doesn't show up in the Reader.
