I hate to admit this but I think I am going to have to paint! Gasp....! I know what some of you {misty} may be thinking....again! My walls look a bit yellow to me. Crazy?
Also ...some of you may have noticed, I took down the ads and closed the etsy. It's just you and me now. Why? I will explain soon but for now I am going to just enjoy blogging like in the good old days. Painting walls and making stuff . Showing all of you how to make it too! I think I find the most joy out of showing all of you how to do it yourself and keeping your pennies at home. I have some neat ideas planned ahead and I cant wait to share them with all of you. I think this will be a great place to share ideas and so much more....no money needed! Whewwww....dont those three words sound great at a time like this. See ya soon~
i can totally understand. doing it all is difficult. i closed my etsy shop for a week and it was so nice not to worry about it. have fun!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what you have in store for us. I am in the same boat as you...painting. We just moved in and had a painter paint most of the house but there are a few rooms that are in need of something other than bone color.
ReplyDeleteThe walls don't look yellow in the photo but I'm sure in person it looks different. That sort of thing drives me crazy! Can't wait to see what you have in store (no pun intended) around here!
ReplyDeleteCool! I love all the beautiful stuff you create; can't wait til you show me how :O)
ReplyDeleteB x
I just might paint along with you this week, Susie!
ReplyDeleteNate
I have big painting plans for the new year myself. Looking forward to seeing what paint colors you choose and extra excited to see what projects you have in store!!
ReplyDeleteHi Susie.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to your ideas, as you share them. :o) I feel like I understand about Etsy. When my time ran out, I just left it alone and took the button off of my blog. I was afraid that others may think I wanted their patronage over their friendships.
I hope that you have a lovely New Years!
BTW ... one of my clients is from New Orleans and she began telling me about the bonfires on Christmas eve. I remember seeing your pictures and reading about it and finally the dots connected! :o)
What a fun tradition!!
Sincerely ~ Tricia Anne
I haven't noticed our dining room walls yellowing (sw interesting aqua), but the bathroom walls at the lake, painted in the same color, are beginning to have a bit of off color to them. I'm going to show the walls to J next time we're there. He doesn't "see" those things like I do LOL! We may need to do something with those walls. But, like I said, the dining room is fine. Same paint, same mix, different rooms.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing what ideas you have up your sleeve.
Looking forward to seeing what you have up your sleeve. I have never had an etsy shop, but I am sure it is a lot of work.
ReplyDeleteHey Susie Bloop!
ReplyDeleteI hope you and the family had a wonderful Christmas!
And I really hope you'll come hang out with me in February!
Layla
I love all of your precious ideas. You are such a sweetie. Hope you had a blessed Christmas.
ReplyDeleteLove ya,
Susan
it must be the upcoming new year...I have lots of paint paper samples...I don't need to paint...I just feel the urge..good luck
ReplyDeleteYay for gettin' back to basics.. that is my mantra for 2010!!!
ReplyDeleteCannot wait to see what you do next!!
Completely understandable. Life can be so fast paced that we forget to sto and smell the roses. Look forward to seeing what you have in store.
ReplyDelete~Jamie

ReplyDeletehey im glad its you and me! LOL Cant wait to share idea with you too!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what you have up your sleeves! I just love all of your projects and tips!
ReplyDeleteI especially love how real you are! It's really refreshing!! I love that you're willing to pull the ads for a bit. Not that I have a problem with them, but I think it's really cool that you also just enjoy blogging. I don't know if that bad any sense (just put the kids down 2 minutes ago and my brain is fried!) =) but I just really appreciate your approach to blogging and willingness to do it for free for all of us who really NEED someone to "be creative for us"! =)
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas with your family!
Your home looks fine :) but things like that drive me cr-a-zy!!! AND if you come to Layla's in February I want to pop in and meet you!! I would consider it right up there with royalty!! WhooHoo!!!
ReplyDeleteI look forward to all you have to share!
ReplyDeletexo,
LuLu
I can't wait to see your new paint job. I hope you and your family had a Merry Christmas.
ReplyDeleteOOOOH susie.. thank you thank you thank you..
ReplyDeleteOne very big quesiton here that's really important.. is that the paint brand you used on the walls.. and what is the color of the paint???
Hubs is off this week.. me thinks I've got a project for him to do!!
Love you darling!
~Olivia
hey susie! i hope you had a wonderful christmas! i cant wait to see all your fun projects! xo
ReplyDeleteI'm going to be painting too. I have wanted to paint my kitchen cabinets for a year now, and I'm working up the nerve to start on it. Can't wait to see what you have planned.
ReplyDelete~Angie~
What a beautiful blue paint color you have now. I can't wait to see all of your new projects you have planned. Fun!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! ~Melissa :)
I don't think you are crazy... It's called D.A.D.D. {Decorators}...
ReplyDeleteand I completely understand about the shop and add thing, I have purposely not put adds on my blog and I took my shop off after Halloween... I notice that several blogs are going {commercial} and loosing their flavor if you will... Thanks for keeping your spice!
Painting is fun, yay!
ReplyDeleteI don't blame you for simplifying, I feel a bit the same right now as well. I think we all get that way as we begin a new year. I did so much organizing today, it felt good!
~Michelle
Can't wait to see what projects you have lined up!! Your site is always inspiring~
ReplyDeleteHope you and your family all had a wonderful Christmas, and a great New Years!
I think your walls look great already, Susie, but I know you'll come up with something fabulous. I love love love your blog. :) I understand why you felt the need to close etsy...it must have taken an awful lot of extra time!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI had to take a break from blogging for a few months but am SO glad to be back, and am excited to once again work on my home. I can't wait to see what you will share! Thank you for being true to yourself.
ReplyDeleteGirl,
ReplyDeleteMy man is a sales rep for Sherwin Williams! He says, (standing over me right this minute) that he recommends a product called Cashmere low lustre- because it goes on easy, has a fantastic finish appearance, and has a lifetime guarantee.
And he would know. :)
Blessings and Happy Painting!
Sasha
Looking forward to seeing all of your fabulous creations!
ReplyDeleteit's hard to have an opinion about your walls--but if they look yellow to you and you don't like yellow then you may have to paint :)
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to this new year. Personally for me, all of the advertising on blogs is distracting. I love that you are getting back to the basics, and I need to do a lot of creating here at home with very little cost. Can't wait to do some fun projects with you. Hope you had a very, Merry Christmas, and a wonderful new year! I am interested to know what you decide on a trim color, because I am wanting to paint trim. I don't want it to be stark white, but I definitely don't want it to look yellow. Have a wonderful week! Jackie
ReplyDeleteGood idea..What happens when you are making things to SELL is that you are not being true to your own creative self..
ReplyDeleteI am an artist and have decided not to do any more commission work of dogs and portraits of children and wow I am doing some of my best work ever.
Although I'll be sad not to have anymore "Susie originals" in my house - I have created for other people before, and creating for yourself is WAY more fun! Enjoy everything you have planned for the new year - especially your precious little cottage! I love everything Susie!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Susie! I'm definitly a clean fanatic...He!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like "simplyfying" is in your future:)
ReplyDeleteHugs,
LeAnn:)
I am looking for a similar blue/grey color that you have painted above the chair rail. Would you mind sharing the brand and the color name?
ReplyDeleteyou have my attention!! I will be right there with you. I understand about the yellowing.....I was really looking at all of my woodwork during Christmas.....ughhhh looking a little dingy....
ReplyDeleteI think simplicity just appeals to me these days! I yearn for it actually....so I totally understand.
ReplyDeleteI want to paint my kitchen cabinets, so I am trying to get motivated!!
Lou Cinda :)
Thanks for the visit, dahling...wasn't sure if I should place your link as "Susie Harris" or "Bienvenue."
ReplyDeleteI can hardly wait to see what you have up your sleeve. Sound man and I already want to re-create your cathedral window. Except now I want to do it as a half-moon window. I have wanted one of those forever, even to the point of making my husband turn around in pouring rain to check on one that was at the side of the road, only to find it was aluminum and $20. Nope...only wooden ones for me. So, we will make one! Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteOH! I can't believe I almost forgot! I LOOOOOOVE my name sign!!!! LOVE IT! You should have heard me squeal Christmas morning when I opened it! Sound Man did good! : )
I'm writing a post about it as I type, so check back on my blog soon.
Love you, girlie!
Hi Susie! I just came across your blog and must say that I LOVE all your pics and am very excited to find another blogger from Louisiana. i very rarely come across any. I am born and raised and still living in Baton Rouge, so Hi Neighbor!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all of the awesome pics of your house. I am officially now in awe!!
Susie--can you tell me what your current bottom color is? I'm looking for a whitish-yellow to go with my green similar to your blue. Thanks. Deb, aswewalk at comcast dot net.
ReplyDeleteYour walls look lovely to me but I know how much you love to re-do your paint colors. I can't wait to see what you will be sharing with us. Hope you and your family had a very Merry Christmas.♥
ReplyDeleteI hear ya about the painting...I'm kind of a painting nut at my house. Whew...I'm glad I bought my stockings from you before you closed your shop (add sad face here)...cuz I lov'em...but I gotta say...I'm really excited to see what projects your gonna share with us...I'm always looking for new ideas.
ReplyDeleteHi Susie!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by the ole blog. Wishing you and your family a safe and Happy New Year!
We absolutely can't do it all and have a life. I've thought of Etsy. I love Etsy and shopping there. But I love blogging, and like to keep it simple. Whatever you do, you will do it quite well, my talented blogging friend!
ReplyDeleteBrenda
what color is that wall color!?!?!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't get your last post to come up so I just will comment here. I went to Kelly's blog and read what she said. I just started my blog to keep my family & friends up to date on our lives since we moved so far away from home. I understand that once your blog gets big, it because a job. Sometimes I think I should be posting more because I want to keep the few followers that I have but then I remember that I am not trying to be as big as Pioneer Woman. It is a great way to meet people and make friends online. That is another reason I wanted to blog. I hope that you feel better about your decision and I can't wait to see what you have for us in the New Year.
ReplyDeleteMel
Well that's good to hear! I personally don't like all the ads on people's blogs and posts everyday about nothing really. I'm looking forward to what you have to share because you always have such creative ideas!
ReplyDeleteWishing you and your family a Happy and Healthy New Year.
Hugs,
Manuela

“Women really dress based on their body shape. For example, Black Bandage Dress I’m very athletic. I have bigger shoulders and bigger bust Herve Leger Dress and smaller in the hip area. So when it comes to Herve Leger, Dirndl Dress for me it’s really about A-line dresses because it gives me a hip but minimizes me on the top.”While there’s no doubt that Lubov and her husband, Max, design for women everywhere, you can’t help but imagine her stamping Halloween costumes a mini-claim on a certain white dress and capelet pair when it was in its early stages. It’s a look we can imagine every woman instantly coveting when it’s available in April.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of just adding your favorite jacket, Bandage Dresses Lubov almost always wears Herve Leger separates.Perhaps because of Herve Leger Replica how we show our pieces, or just the assumed way of Herve Leger, Oktoberfest outfit people tend to wear our collections together, as one piece. But I like them as separates; it’s almost cooler,” she says. “I would put this jacket with a pair of jeans or a work skirt. And of course it all but if you’re in L.A., you just wear Herve Leger Dressesthe skirt with a T-shirt. The great thing about Herve separates is that it adds high fashion glamour to any number of basic pieces you already own.”depends on where you live,
