Paint....Say it aint' so....

I hate to admit this but I think I am going to have to paint! Gasp....! I know what some of you {misty} may be thinking....again! My walls look a bit yellow to me. Crazy?

Also ...some of you may have noticed, I took down the ads and closed the etsy. It's just you and me now. Why? I will explain soon but for now I am going to just enjoy blogging like in the good old days.  Painting walls and making stuff . Showing all of you how to make it too! I think I find the most joy out of showing all of you how to do it yourself and keeping your pennies at home. I have some neat ideas planned ahead and I cant wait to share them with all of you. I think this will be a great place to share ideas and so much more....no money needed! Whewwww....dont those three words sound great at a time like this. See ya soon~

Can't wait to see what you have in store for us. I am in the same boat as you...painting. We just moved in and had a painter paint most of the house but there are a few rooms that are in need of something other than bone color.

The walls don't look yellow in the photo but I'm sure in person it looks different. That sort of thing drives me crazy! Can't wait to see what you have in store (no pun intended) around here!

Hi Susie.
I look forward to your ideas, as you share them. :o) I feel like I understand about Etsy. When my time ran out, I just left it alone and took the button off of my blog. I was afraid that others may think I wanted their patronage over their friendships.
I hope that you have a lovely New Years!
BTW ... one of my clients is from New Orleans and she began telling me about the bonfires on Christmas eve. I remember seeing your pictures and reading about it and finally the dots connected! :o)
What a fun tradition!!
Sincerely ~ Tricia Anne

I haven't noticed our dining room walls yellowing (sw interesting aqua), but the bathroom walls at the lake, painted in the same color, are beginning to have a bit of off color to them. I'm going to show the walls to J next time we're there. He doesn't "see" those things like I do LOL! We may need to do something with those walls. But, like I said, the dining room is fine. Same paint, same mix, different rooms.

Looking forward to seeing what ideas you have up your sleeve.

I especially love how real you are! It's really refreshing!! I love that you're willing to pull the ads for a bit. Not that I have a problem with them, but I think it's really cool that you also just enjoy blogging. I don't know if that bad any sense (just put the kids down 2 minutes ago and my brain is fried!) =) but I just really appreciate your approach to blogging and willingness to do it for free for all of us who really NEED someone to "be creative for us"! =)
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas with your family!

I don't think you are crazy... It's called D.A.D.D. {Decorators}...
and I completely understand about the shop and add thing, I have purposely not put adds on my blog and I took my shop off after Halloween... I notice that several blogs are going {commercial} and loosing their flavor if you will... Thanks for keeping your spice!

I don't blame you for simplifying, I feel a bit the same right now as well. I think we all get that way as we begin a new year. I did so much organizing today, it felt good!

Girl,
My man is a sales rep for Sherwin Williams! He says, (standing over me right this minute) that he recommends a product called Cashmere low lustre- because it goes on easy, has a fantastic finish appearance, and has a lifetime guarantee.

And he would know. :)

Blessings and Happy Painting!

it's hard to have an opinion about your walls--but if they look yellow to you and you don't like yellow then you may have to paint :)

Looking forward to this new year. Personally for me, all of the advertising on blogs is distracting. I love that you are getting back to the basics, and I need to do a lot of creating here at home with very little cost. Can't wait to do some fun projects with you. Hope you had a very, Merry Christmas, and a wonderful new year! I am interested to know what you decide on a trim color, because I am wanting to paint trim. I don't want it to be stark white, but I definitely don't want it to look yellow. Have a wonderful week! Jackie

Good idea..What happens when you are making things to SELL is that you are not being true to your own creative self..
I am an artist and have decided not to do any more commission work of dogs and portraits of children and wow I am doing some of my best work ever.

Although I'll be sad not to have anymore "Susie originals" in my house - I have created for other people before, and creating for yourself is WAY more fun! Enjoy everything you have planned for the new year - especially your precious little cottage! I love everything Susie!!!!

I can hardly wait to see what you have up your sleeve. Sound man and I already want to re-create your cathedral window. Except now I want to do it as a half-moon window. I have wanted one of those forever, even to the point of making my husband turn around in pouring rain to check on one that was at the side of the road, only to find it was aluminum and $20. Nope...only wooden ones for me. So, we will make one! Thanks for the inspiration!

OH! I can't believe I almost forgot! I LOOOOOOVE my name sign!!!! LOVE IT! You should have heard me squeal Christmas morning when I opened it! Sound Man did good! : )

I'm writing a post about it as I type, so check back on my blog soon.

Love you, girlie!

I couldn't get your last post to come up so I just will comment here. I went to Kelly's blog and read what she said. I just started my blog to keep my family & friends up to date on our lives since we moved so far away from home. I understand that once your blog gets big, it because a job. Sometimes I think I should be posting more because I want to keep the few followers that I have but then I remember that I am not trying to be as big as Pioneer Woman. It is a great way to meet people and make friends online. That is another reason I wanted to blog. I hope that you feel better about your decision and I can't wait to see what you have for us in the New Year.
