Make a window 101...

I love old windows...church windows are my favorite. I have searched the planet for an old one but have yet to find one that I could afford without having to sell a child. {Insert Motto} If you cant find it to buy it...fake it and make it! So that's just what I did!
I drew a rough drawing...very rough!Used some of the best brown paper ever known to mankind for a pattern.I cut  my outline of the window. Remember you can always fold your pattern in half so your sides match up perfect.I then folded each side over again .Your window should have three lines like this.I then started to draw in my lines.It's starting to look like a window...right?How about now?Ok...good! Now I looked for some scrap wood and that isnt hard around here. I cut out my window and when I got to the center parts I drilled a hole so my saw could fit...I know it looks a bit shabby now but with some paint and a good sanding you would swear it's 100 years old.Here comes my favorite part. Shopping the house for a perfect spot. Over the village?

  15. Awesome idea. This would be lovely painted white and distressed, in front of a piece of mirror that was cut to it's shape. Or you could make it a picture frame!

    That is just the coolest thing! It never ceases to amaze me at how inventive you are! I am beginning to be "inspired" to give a few things a try...after Christmas, of course. Who has time for extra fun right now?

    I was thinking as I was reading this that if you made two "frames" one a little smaller than the other. Smoothed the edged down really well and layered them over each other. It would be really 3D like a lot of the old windows are... Hmmmmmm.....
