Hi there! Guess you are wondering what in the world this post is about. Well...me and one other but I wont mention any names here. I learned some important stuff this week and I will share.
1). When the school calls while you are at the beauty shop having your hair "done" to let you know that your child has a fever and you need to pick her up you.... (this part I learned the hard way) Hurry and call Maw Maw! She picks your child up while you are trying to hurry and get home.

2). You just know something is up because while you were out of town Daddy brought child to "Farm Day" with a gazillion other kids. Yep...panic starts here! Rush home to sick child and have her tell you it's the "swan flu" only to find out her fever was 99 and she forgot her home work! Thank you Lord!

You want to fuss but you are so grateful she doesn't have the "Swan Flu" you decide to have heart to heart talk instead and get to the bottom of the story.
3). On to number three..Me! I learned this week that no one ..I repeat no one liked my hair highlighted . So I'm back to my natural roots and dark hair.

4). Fever blisters stay way longer than I expected.

5). And last but not least... I give up. Taking pictures of myself just makes me more of a dork...I regress..
Because all of you sweet people stayed to read this mess I will hold the two giveaways open all weekend and announce the winners on Monday. By then the fever blister should be gone and the Homework will be done and I can show y'all what I'm making over the weekend. Hugs...Susie
I take self portraits all the time and the husband makes fun of me. Did you see the new camera that's coming out where they have a screen on the back AND the front? That's the camera for me! haha
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear your little one doesn't have the "swan flu". :)
Have a blessed weekend!
I love this! And I am so glad she did not have the swan flu! I hear that stuff is brutal!!
ReplyDeleteYour hair looks beautiful!!
Have a great weekend!!
Lou Cinda :)

Oh, Susie! First of all I'm glad ya'll aren't passing the "swan flu" around and I love you even more for posting a picture of yourself with a fever blister - you're still precious!
ReplyDeletefirst off - I thought those pics were of your pre teen daughter! I swear to GOD I am telling the truth! you look too young, girl!
ReplyDeletebe glad it's not the flu - but couldn't the nurse tell she didn't have fever?????? I hope she really doesn't have it - some people just have a low grade fever with it!!!
and go get some wrinkles, would you?????
have a great weekend.
Joni
so glad to hear it isn't the 'swan flu'......
ReplyDeleteand for you to have the 'guts' to take a picture of yourself, with fever blisters, is nothing short of heroic.....or the fever got to your head....one or the other...
;)
hope your daughter feels better - tea with honey is the perf. thing
I don't know what your hair looked like before, but it looks great in these photos. :-)
ReplyDeleteI thought that was a pregnancy test!! I have baby on the brain.
ReplyDeleteOMGosh' The one day I decide to let it all hang out and let my guard down and would'nt you know Joni from Cote de Texas drops by for a visit. She must be thinking "gross" this chic is showing me her fever blister.Ugh!!! Just like those days when your house is all nice and clean and not a soul comes by to visit. Leave it to me to have a blister on my lip the size of Kentucky and my kid is playing hookie. There you have it friends...blogging in the real! Gotta love it~ ...and Joni, I adore you and I hope you come back after this.....smiles~
ReplyDeleteswan flu????? That is really funny!! And you look great, fever blister or no......
ReplyDeleteSuzanne
Aw, Susie - You're so cute!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad your little one doesn't have "swan" flu either, whew! There were two cases of it in my youngest girl's class and you can bet that I'm a little on edge!
Have a great weekend!
Swan Flu sounds so much better than Swine Flu! Hope she's okay and doesn't have either!!
ReplyDeleteDitto Joni's words!;-)
I'm having my 400th post giveaway, Susie...come on by and sign up!
Girl...you are so funny...
ReplyDeleteHi Susie,
ReplyDeleteSounds like quite a week. I'm so glad your daughter doesn't have swan or swine. Don't like either one.
Have a blessed weekend.
hugs, Barb
The "swan flu" made me laugh! I love your dark hair. You looks so vibrant. :)
ReplyDeleteHere's hoping your dearie truly doesn't get the flu. Your freshly brewed espresso locks look lovely ~ so does your new header. Pretty!
ReplyDeleteLove the new header!
ReplyDeleteLove the new hair... though I don't know what the "old" hair looked like!
And love that your daughter found a way to "fancy up" a dreadful disease AND get out of school all on the same day! Smart and creative!
Have a fun, swan-free weekend!
I thought you were going to say, "This I know...I'm preg-o!" Tricked me!
ReplyDeleteYour hair is so cute! Love the 'swan flu' - my husband calls it the hiney flu because h1n1 could be twisted into that word. Also, trick for fever blisters because I get them fairly often - L-Lysine. Take one a day (they are as big as horse pills) and they keep them away or help them heal faster if you have one. Hope it works!
ReplyDeleteSo.. did we get to decide on this highlighting business? heehee.. Well I'm happy you're back to your 'normal' self and thank the good Lord no 'swan' flu in your home!
ReplyDeleteThank goodness for Maw-Maws!
ReplyDeleteSo glad the swam flu passed quickly. We're onto the pigeon flu in our house...as in, one flu/flew over the...oh, that's coockoo's... :)

ReplyDeleteYour hair looks great! You look so young! Glad your child is fine :)
ReplyDeleteBest cure for fever blister is white distilled vingegar patted on it (it will hurt a bit) then cover with coconut oil. Will heal it within a few days as opposed to nearly two weeks. If you get the vinegar on it fast enough when you feel it coming it will never even come through (also coconut oil).
ReplyDeleteMany Blessings :)
Ace
I like your hair dark, too ;) But you really ARE a beauty!!
ReplyDeleteOh, and so glad Maddy didn't have the "swan flu"!
Our area seems to be hit hard with it. One of our employee's family is dealing with it, I've had family dealing with it, and I've been noticing businesses (restaurants and such) putting out hand sanitizer for their customers!
I'm so glad that Maddy didn't have the "swan" flu...lol. Your hair looks beautiful dark and I hope you fever blister goes away soon. I have never had one but I get "ulcers" on the inside of my mouth...OUCH!!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.♥
I think you have gorgeous hair. :)
ReplyDeleteAt first glance, I thought that was a pregnancy test instead of a thermometer. Then you said this post was about you and another person...and well, you get the idea. Glad it isn't the "swan flu". I can't wait to see what you'll hopefully be sending my way!
ReplyDeleteOh Susie, so glad that your little dear does not have the flu.
ReplyDeleteThat was a cunning plan!
Your hair looks lovely and I hope that the blister heals up.
Take some time for yourself to relax over the weekend
Hugs
Carolyn

ReplyDeleteYou look beautiful in your pics by the way. ;)
I'm glad she didn't have "swan flu"! (that's so cute)
ReplyDeleteI like your hair dark, too!
And I HATE fever blisters! I use Zovorax cream on mine. Lord knows what else that stuff is for! LOL!
I have about the same hair color as you and no one likes my hair highlighted either. Still fun to try out something new now and then though! Rub a wet match on the fever blister - seems to work like a charm for me to make them disappear!
ReplyDeleteIf it is any comfort I color my own hair. Sometimes it turns out OK sometimes it doesn't. So glad there is no swan flu at your house! And definitely count me in for a giveaway. I am having one too. Have a great weekend. Jackie
ReplyDeleteI love your blog... especially your projects and humor :) I'm so glad the "swan flu" has passed your house by-quite creative of your daughter though to cover for her unfinished homework! Gotta love kids and their creativity!

ReplyDeleteI love your self pictures and I love that you are brave enough to do them. I just will NOT! I am not that brave! H1N1 YUCK...we thought it had taken over here but it was not the flu but strep. I have been called three times this year already by the school nurse. I think we are all in for one long school year!

ReplyDeleteLove your hair dark! And dont worry, fever blisters feel waaaay worse than they look!
ReplyDeleteSusie, here's a giant hug for ya. But can I tell you that I really thought your temperature stick was a pregnancy test! Can you tell I don't have kids yet? :) So, be thankful that wasn't part of the equation.
