Take Your Friend to Work Day!

It's official! I have declared today Take Your Friend To Work Day! So ....do you want to join me?

Once the family is off to work and school I start getting ready for work. First I have my beverage of choice...Sonic Coke!

Proper attire always needed for my job. Don't these just make you smile? Yes...for those of you who are wondering..I wear them to carpool...ha!

Now let's go to work!

First and foremost...Lola comes first then...

I set the mood~ Pumpkin Spice..Hobby Lobby..best candle ever!

I paint!

I usually have a few going at one time. While one is drying I work on the next in line.

Could you excuse me for just a minute...Alley needs a hug~

Once the signs are good and dry I take them to the sanding station...{aka} garage.

I then apply a stain/sealer.

Moving on to the drying station {aka} the swing!

I think this has to be my favorite part of the day. I love to wrap them oh so special and attach a hand written note. This is my chance to let them know how much I appreciate their business and because they are sweet enough to buy Handmade from Louisiana instead of from a robot in callamazoo. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Now I'm off to the post office to send these lil darlings to their peeps! Thanks for coming along with me to work today. Because of you I can stay home and work and be a Mommy and a wife and create~ GOD BLESS AMERICA

  10. Hey Susie... I've been reading your blog for a few weeks now and totally just realized that you are in the Baton Rouge area! I was born and raised in Baton Rouge and my parents are still there. I live in the Atlanta area now. Anyway... I love how cute and creative you are! I'm going to have to order a name sign for my parents for Christmas!

  11. you are so cute! that was a great idea.......

and I love how you don't keep everything "a secret".....

that's why I love showing pictures of my kitchen, where I bake (and the customers like seeing that too!)....your attention to detail looks wonderful - and inspiring!

  12. I love working from home, and my kiddos and husband really love it...more time for them and 3 square meals a day...and clean socks, can't beat it! As always still looking forward to each and every one of your posts!

  13. Oh what a fun work day.
Thank you for taking us along.
I recently painted a sign, free hand, but I noticed I need stencils from here on out because my hand is too shaky. Now to locate stencils I like to use...
I wish I could hold still like you do! Your work is beautiful!
I have 3 yard sticks I am saving to create my rack like you showed us how to do. :o) I am keeping my eyes open for some rulers now to fill the gaps. I will let you know when I finally am able to pull it together. :o)
    Have a nice evening.
    Sincerely ~ Tricia Anne

  14. What a sweet post!

I am blessed too and I get to stay home. I love your signs. I also like the jammies:) I would go to the carpool lane in them too.

  15. I loved this!! and have wondered just how it all gets put together! Thanks!!

  16. Hi Susie,

Thanks so much for bringing me to work with you today. Your signs are so fabulous and I should know cause I have one!!! I would have a hard time working cause I would want to be petting Lola and Alley.♥

  17. Yes!! I am nt the only mom that wears jammies to my kiddos school!

  18. O, darlin' girl, you know I am one of your biggest fans...you almost know my address by heart !! :O)
I loved seeing where you work...and your little work cottage is so adorable.
    hugs, bj

  19. I loved going to work with you. I like to start my day off with a grande, non-fat mocha if I'm out. :) Your co-workers are just charming!

Love the signs you worked on. The square one could be the perfect gift for my sister and her new husband. :)

  20. My drink of choice would be the same cup, different drink...Diet Coke with vanilla or lime! : )

Did you get those pj's from Nashville? : )

Thanks for showing us your work day!

  21. Hey Susie!
Thanks for taking us to work with you today. That was so much fun.
LOL, I can't believe the drink of choice in the A.M. hours is soda! Yikes!
I used to take my kids to school in the my ever so comfy pajams as well....slippers on my feet too. Until one day I witnessed a car accident and stayed til the policeman got there to write up the report. I was so mortified to be there in my pajams. And since then, I am dressed in "real" clothes and shoes.

  22. Girl you know your day at work is more than that...You answer the phone when I call on your lunch break HAHA..And what about when dad and mom call, camo man needs inspection stickers, kid sick, allergy shots...u go girl you showed your readers a slow day!!!lol

  23. Awww - can I come to work with you every day? Your coworkers look much more agreeable than mine. :-)

Side question - I had been eyeing your "Established" sign with the Bible verse on it along with the name but kept putting off buying it since we weren't sure about jobs for awhile - I noticed it's not on your Etsy anymore but would you be willing to do one for me once the hubby and I agree on a verse? :-)

  24. i just love your backyard! oh and of course your cottage! xo

  25. Wish one of those packages was coming to my door. Your work is beautiful.

  26. It is a privilege, isn't...being able to care for our families and still do something we love? So glad you know how much you are blessed!

  27. that was fun!!! i love the work attire!!! do you use stencils to pint like that? it looks so perfect.

  28. Great post! Working at home is fabulous! And your painting skills...amazing!!

  29. Susie,
Thank you for popping in to see me! I love, love, love your work! Very interesting artistry! And I am in love with your cottage! I saw a picture of a little cottage very much like yours in a Country Garden magazine in the Dr.'s office this summer and loved it - took a picture of it with my phone...in case I ever decide to build a cottage.

You will NOT believe this - as I scrolled down and read through some of your posts, I came across your pictures of the "robot". I swear, I thought I had to be the only living soul who had ever asked the tech to take a picture while in the booby trap! I was rolling on the floor when I saw that you had done the same thing. Imagine - "kindred booby spirits"!
    Said a prayer for Jane.

You have a very interesting blog and I look forward to getting to know you better.

I have family in Baton Rouge - my mother was raised in Welsh, LA., so I am familiar with parts of your state.

  30. Hey Susie,
Your day sounds alot like mine!! In fact it's 8pm and oops I never got dressed today. Still in my pj's, but I did get alot of work done! Thank goodness I didn't have to ship any rugs today...LOL! Actually if I had to go to UPS I would have gotten dressed, wouldn't want to scare the UPS lady! Haha

    Take Care

  31. Your signs are beautiful and you can see all of the love and attention you give to each one!

  32. Hi Susie,

Stopping by to let you know that Lexi hasn't had any temp. since early afternoon yesterday so she gets to go back to school tomorrow....YAY!!!! No telling HOW much homework we will be making up this weekend! Thanks so much for checking on her.♥

  33. Geezum Crow, lady!! I love those signs, too- I have been dying to make one of my own, just been too busy....
Love that puppy face, mine makes the very same, it says, "You love me... Right? Cuz I love you!"

    :) T

  54. Nice :) You're good and honest, if not well-groomed.

I stay at home with our four children. We homeschool, so I *really* stay at home a lot. I stayed in jammies a lot when the children were all tiny little things. Who was going to keep them from sticking their heads in the toilet while I dressed? These days I usually manage a few moments :)

Thanks for the comment over at my place!

  64. First and foremost, let’s get one thing straight: Herve Leger Dresses“There’s an incorrect assumption about Herve that it’s only for evening,”Herve Leger sale Lubov told me up on the 18th floor of her Oktoberfest Costumes Times Square showroom and headquarters. “It can be worn anytime! People also assume that it should fit really tight, but personally I wear it one size bigger because I like the comfort of it while still getting the silhouette.”Herve Leger Replica These are the dresses that are coming into our stores and online now, and these are the dresses that are going to show up come Saturday, because as we pointed out in our runway report last season, an Herve Leger show is full of Herve Leger dresses.

  65. I conceive you have noted some very interesting points, regards for the post.

Thanks for stopping by. It's always so nice to hear from you.
