Welcome to The Oakside Cottage! I have come to the conclusion that she will never be complete and I am ok with that. Come on in! It is very hard to take good pictures in such a small space and always under shade trees. I regress~ Yes....this chair is still a work in progress... It really needs a pillow. I really need to learn to sew. I love this chair still...it is where my kids come to flop down and tell me about their day. I cherish those moments because I know it wont last forever... I tried to surround myself with things that I love the most! This is a cricket cage...oh the possibilites! I painted this sign to remind me of the important things in life.... I dont know where I would be without this cabinet. I love having all of my favorite things right at my fingertips and in sight so I can enjoy their beauty. Yes, blue and brown pompom's are beautiful! Thank You for visiting our little cottage and encouraging me along the way. I cant wait to show you things as they are added and moved around and the thought of decorating it for Christmas just makes me giddy! As you can see here,Im never alone while painting. Alley and Lola stay close to my side and I can promise you ,we never go a day without some "cat and dog" excitement! Thank you so very much for the prayers said for Mrs. Jane. She is doing well and I will keep you updated and for those of you who had prayer request,I will continue to keep them close~
Ohhh....it is so lovely! Oh, how I wish I had my own little cottage with all my lovely crafty stuff that I love. You did an amazing job! And...I love that sign. It is a precious place....I hope you ENJOY it!
Wow - absolutely Fantastic. I'm not sure what I'm more impressed with...how adorable the cottage looks, or how quickly you got so much done (as a self proclaimed procrastinator...I'm a slow starter). Love the space!
Your cottage is just wonderful! The mums and pumpkin on your front porch, the favorite things inside, all your ribbon, and of course a cat and a dog for company...how perfect. What a great place to be creative! Debra

Oh what a quaint little cottage! I am so glad you told me about the cricket cage. I was wondering what it was. I am in the midst of decorating our guest bedroom and transforming the tiny closet into my crafting area. You have inspired me to keep going.
Susie- it is just incredible and so much fun to see all of the special things you showed us along the way. Wow, what a neat space, LOVE it! You are one talented lady. :-)
What a wonderful little cottage!!! I see a world of bliss coming out of there. :) So glad to hear about Mrs. Jane, too. As we head in today for the pathology results from my mother's surgery, cancer in general is huge in my prayers. It is such a beautiful thing to hear of people doing well in their battle against it. It just breaks my heart that something so ugly even has to exist!!! I will continue praying for Mrs. Jane and her entire family. As the daughter of a current cancer patient, my heart goes out to Misty (and other children Mrs. Jane may have) and the unique position she finds herself in. I pray God brings her amazing strength & comfort, too as she steps onto this particular stage in her life. Blessings!
What a FABULOUS little cottage. It is just as I thought it would be! Thanks for all your inspiration! I even made a little craft myself today thanks to you!! Enjoy your new space!
I love it! What a special place to retreat to. I have a little space in my house that I'm going to turn into my work space. I am so excited to have a space that is all mine. I can't wait to see more pictures when you decorate for Christmas. I am loving the floor!
I've been trying to wait patiently to see this.... Such a beautiful little space. I'm so happy for you. You are going to create wonderful things in there, it's built for inspiration. Enjoy!
I don't know why, but the typewriter with your kids' picture makes me think you should do a sign that says "write it on your heart that you are loved" I keep wanting to do one, but that would be adorable behind your typewriter!!!!
Susie, don't know how I missed this all day. It's just beautiful!!! I love the way you've decorated everything. :) All the little details tie in together so perfectly. What a wonderful creative space. I love the last photo. :)
What a gorgeous little place you have there! I just love it. Good thing I don't have one because I would be ignoring my children and sneaking off to be alone too much! ;)
love love love your little cottage. I remember the point in the flea market video where you purchased your little old typewriter! I have a very old on I treasure that my father gave me! We have a sweet little playhouse in the backyard my husband built that I've always had visions of doing something fun with but now that my kids are a tiny bit older, my husband keeps his lawn crapola in it! lol

I love visiting here just because it gets my brain started on things that i could do. The other day i went to my sister in law's house and she had this beautiful mirror above her fireplace that had a huge wood frame. There is no way i could afford one of those but now im wondering hmmmmmm maybe if I found a screen that was big enough i could make one myself. Like i said what a inspiration. :0) i will be back that you can count on! have a blessed day today!
I love your gorgeous little white house in the backyard! I would love to do something similar next spring to my shed but it's one of those metal things....do you think I could paint it with some special paint that would hold up under Alabama summers?
This is just such an adorable place to call your workplace, Susie. It will be so cute decorated for the various holidays. If our neighborhood covenants would allow this type of outbuilding, I would definitely have one. It is precious! :-) Sue
Very beautiful things! When I saw your old screen doors I was wondering if you know how to get the musty smell out of very old wooden doors/window frames?
