How do you spend your time?

This piece has been on my heart for sometime now. I had dreams about how I would paint it. What time I would choose and why but.... I procrastinated!

After much thought I knew exactly how I wanted it to look. The problem was It would take forever to complete...no worries..it's just time right?

What started out as a dream and a bible verse close to my heart became my passion. I painted....and painted

After many hours...

It's complete!

It came out just like I had imagined...aged and worn with time.

I painted it free hand so it's not even close to perfection...true love~

Time is a gift that is given to everyone. Some have more time than others. Some cherish every minute and rejoice in Gods grace and mercy. Some wish it away~

This piece reminds me how precious time is and there is a time for everything under the heavens~

Nary a moment wasted in your case.. time is the wind that freely flows.. brushing our cheeks, lifting our hair.. and yet like a good southern molasses just seems to sit there.. gathering bees and butterflies to share an adventure, daring one to to spread their wings.

Time well spent is a day when one can laugh, cry, giggle, plot, sort, create an adventure..(usually dinner around here)and try to cram everything I can into one day. After falling into bed exhausted I let my dreams continue on and I awake freshed ready to seek what the good Lord guides me towards.

Yes Suzi.. me thinks you too run in this same circle of life. Aint' it a blast?

Hugs my dear as everyone needs them all the time!

Beautiful - I don't think I'd ever have the patience to attempt that.
It's "timeless" - great job.

I think , my sweet friend, that this is my favorite post of yours! The piece is beautiful. That scripture is so dear to my heart. We spend much of our time wishing instead of living and enjoying the "present"--the "gift" from God. We are only promised a small stay on this earth. This encourages me to spend each moment to the fullest and enjoy what you have. Thank you so much!!
Love ya,
Susan

I have been pretty good at not being bummed that I'm on a "stuff hiatus" and have promised my husband not to spend any money on "non-necessities" for a few months. This, however... this tests my limits. I absolutely love it and would snap it up in a heartbeat if... well... you read my sob story already. You are incredibly talented & creative. I really enjoy your blog & seeing what you've made now. I, like most of your readers, can't wait for the cottage reveal, either. Beautimous!!!

Heather said...

One of my favorite verses too - and so beautifully done! I think it would be fun to drill a hole in the middle of the clock face and install one of those cute clock kits - then every time we checked the time we'd be reminded to use it wisely!

Hi Susie, thanks for asking about the door! I think it might be growing on me already. My plan is to antique it and live with it for at least a week. Do you happen to get This Old House magazine? They had a kitchen in it with the same door in aqua. I couldn't believe it, maybe it's a sign?!
Hope you have a fantastic weekend!

Hey Susie! I love this!!! I think it's one of my favorite pieces you have created! How did you get the writing so perfect?!?!
Just wanted to tell you (you may already know) but at Hobby Lobby or Michaels, you can buy a clock kit and make this a real clock instead of just painting the arms on there! :)
Looking forward to seeing the cottage all finished! I wish I had my own crafting area :)
