I went downtown to a little place called Circa 1857.I wanted to rent a U-haul and load up but I didn't.
I just walked around and soaked up some of the history just hanging around.
I imagined where all of these treasures once lived.
Time has a way of flying past us before we know it.
I wonder if my house will give way to pieces of history one day.
Will my sinks line a pathway?
Will someone drool over my present in the future? Did you know that when I shop I take all of you with me? I know many of you and I know what makes your heart flutter. My thoughts quickly raced to Kasey from Lola B's when I saw this iron bed. I could see her dressing it all up for one of her famous parties.
So many!
They even made old gas cans look dreamy.
I had no idea they were expecting me!!
Yes,they knew I would fall in love with them so.
After visiting here it just made me long to visit Round Top Texas in a couple weeks. Word on the street is that they have towns just lined up with goodies like this....imagine that!

What a great place... nice photos too! I do the same thing... imagine the home the salvaged piece came from and how many people put their hands on a doorknob or opened a window. I wonder if these objects hold memories like some so-called psychics want us to believe.

Oh, I am SO in love with that place! I love old houses and pieces of old houses. I don't know how you could resist the uhaul. You are a strong woman!

LOVE those half circle windows! I saw one on the side of the road that I thought was wooden, but then when I had Sound Man go see what it was, we realized it was aluminum. I need to have my eyes checked! : )

OMG...I LOVE places like that. We have one in Houston called Adkins Architectural. I, like you, wander around and wonder who used the items, walked through the doors, looked out the windows. I'm with you...I would have wanted to take a UHAUL. I'm headed to Warrenton on the 2nd weekend so hopefully I score some good "stuff". Happy Fall Ya'll from Houston!

My boys love to wander aroung all the architectural salvage. I never knew finding old nails could be so much fun. Did Missy go with you? Daina Kennedy, Maddy's summer art teacher, is planning to have art lessons at peoples' houses. She supplies canvas, paint, brushes, and technique and guests bring their own munchies and beverage choices. She asked that I host a painting party and she wants you to be on the guest list. She loves your creative soul!
