Before a little love...

While pondering this floor many ideas came to mind but I kept being drawn to this one imperfection in the wood. Things like this I adore. How could I ever cover this up!

I could not. This floor is sure to take a beating but I wanted it to look awesome as well so I stained it to bring forth the grain

I also wanted it to shine like crazy so I made sure to get a stain with a little glossy poly...The stain is Bombay just in case you were wondering.

I must admit...I love how it turned out!

I could live with this floor inside my house ..really.

Kaylee has already asked if we could do this in her room. She has carpet,ugh...I'm thinking just maybe..

So now you have seen our cottage from top to bottom...

But wait! could we do a little something extra to this floor? Maybe bring a little more charm to it....Just wait and see~
There are some cute painted border ideas.. or put your monogram in the middle or entryway.. or paint in script the french name you decide on..
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Miz Susie,
ReplyDeleteYou can't imagine how excited I am to see your little cottage studio floors madeover because your plywood floors are exactly what I have in my dining room and hallway after pulling up the carpeting in the house. The rest of the rooms had hardwoods but sadly those two just had old stained plywood. I've been debating painting them till I can afford to buy reclaimed flooring for them but they do have a certain charm that's grown on me that I hate to cover up. And I've not been able to decide on a paint color. Now I have inspiration and can see how beautiful they could look because of you! I'm going to show the hubby and see what he says... Maybe after 3 years of living with ugly floors I can finally do something about them. Sorry for writing the book but I've been anxiously waiting ever since I saw what your floors were made of *smiles* Thank you Susie for all your creative brilliance that you share so generously with the rest of us *hugs*
Love the dark stain with the white paint. Beautiful job - I'm ready to see more.
ReplyDeleteHave a great Friday.
Love the choices you have made thus far. That dark stain and light wall color looks SO FANTASTIC!! Can't wait to see what you do next!
ReplyDeleteLove love love it!
ReplyDeleteyou have just inspired me like you would not believe.
ReplyDeleteIf everyone wasn't sleeping (and if I had already had more coffee) I would be jumping up and down!!! Thank you!!!
I love the way this turned out. My husband has never believed me that plywood could be beautiful. Thanks for giving me a picture I can show him :) Dina

ReplyDeleteI love a high gloss shine too! Your floors turned out beautifully. Can't wait to see more.
ReplyDeleteSusie, you are so darn talented I just want to pinch you! ;) I love what you did with the floors!!! I am really enjoying this little series.
ReplyDeleteOh WOW! I love, love, love the transformation so far! What a sweet little space. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I just love it Susie - it's just gorgeous! We were forced to rip out our carpet at the beginning of our remodel due to my daughters allergy issues. I just painted the subfloor until we can finally install our hardwood. White paint, no less, which never looks clean! If I would have know we were going to be living with subflooring for this long, I would have done what you did here. It is stunning!
ReplyDeleteGirlfriend, it is lookin' too cute! Wish I could pop over in real life and see it!! Have a great weekend in your studio!! Don't forget to talk to hubby about the a/c!!
ReplyDeleteHugs!
Susan
I love the contrast! Can't wait to see what you do next.
ReplyDeleteWait is it just plywood stained? It looks great. My girls are wanting their carpet pulled up and their floor painted black. I just can't do it yet.
ReplyDeleteuse one of those really neat flat-bamboo 'rugs' with the stenciling all over it....I love those things!
ReplyDeleteI really like the dark color against the white walls!

I didn't know you could stain plywood and get a nice look like that. I will have to remember that. What does it feel like walking on it?
It looks awesome Susie! Love the contrast!
ReplyDeleteI have to start shopping for hard wood flooring for our living/dining room since we came home from vacation to a flooded home.

Susie,
ReplyDeleteIsn't it amazing what just a little stain can do to plywood?
If I had to guess, I'm thinking a painted on rug. I know that's what I would do.
You are going to love having your own creative space. That's my dream for the future.

Just came across this and I am wondering since I am planning to stain and poly the plywood in my cabin, did you use any wood filler or calk between the sheets of plywood? Also, do you remember what products you used? And how is it holding up? Thanks.

First and foremost, let’s get one thing straight: Herve Leger Dresses“There’s an incorrect assumption about Herve that it’s only for evening,”Herve Leger sale Lubov told me up on the 18th floor of her Oktoberfest Costumes Times Square showroom and headquarters. “It can be worn anytime! People also assume that it should fit really tight, but personally I wear it one size bigger because I like the comfort of it while still getting the silhouette.”Herve Leger Replica These are the dresses that are coming into our stores and online now, and these are the dresses that are going to show up come Saturday, because as we pointed out in our runway report last season, an Herve Leger show is full of Herve Leger dresses.
ReplyDeleteHerve Leger, sometimes deliberately written as Herve Leger is a French fashion house founded by the designer Herve Peugnet, also known as Herve L. Leroux Herve Leger Dresses was founded in 1985 by the designer Herve Peugnet (1957–2017). The same year Karl Lagerfeld advised Peugnet that his surname Peugnet would be too difficult for Americans, the target market, to pronounce, and instead suggested the surname Leger. Having lost the rights to the Herve Leger name, Peugnet later took a third "brand" name as Sexy Sailor Herve Leger in 2000.A model walking the runway at Herve Leger Bandage Dresses Fall/Winter 2014 show at New York Fashion Week, February 2014.
