Hi Y'all! I'm here! About 50% of me anyway. My computer is still crazy but I will explain that in a bit. I have better things I want to share with y'all. While I'm on the subject of 50% I thought I would show you my curtains. Well,50% of em'.

I could have just showed y'all one window and made it look like I was all that and a bit more. Who am I fooling...y'all know me way better than that.

I found this Long panel curtain at Target and turned to mush. It was the colors I needed but the wrong size. I have two windows in my kitchen and I like to fake people out and make them look much bigger than what they really are.

So I bought that long panel and cut it in half. Even?....Paaalease!

I sewed on a backing just to make y'all think I knew what I was doing...which I so don't. Really I wanted the back because from the outside I wanted it to look all pretty and stuff...you know in case you were driving by and looking in my windows. {just for the know...I love walking in our subdivision and I heart people who leave their curtains open for me} I'm weird that way...Ha!

Back to curtains...Hand sewn rings....

Hung on dusty rod!

By the way..lovin' this rod. Got it from Bed Bath and Beyond.

On the bottom I added some bling that I saved from the old curtains.

I'm hoping the sun will heat the fabric enough to knock out the wrinkles. If not I guess I will have wrinkled curtains. So why do I only have 50% of it done? Procrastination! My one big word for the day.
Now on to big computer business. My one main concern is y'all. You know how I love to comment all of y'all when I can. The problem is about 50% of my favorite blogs knock me off the net. So if you don't hear from me I'm so sorry. It wont let me..sigh~ A guy that does the computers at my husbands office is trying to help me. A few of you asked how did I know it was the add friends button. Well It's only one of the problems. When my computer would download my site it would be fine till it got to that part. It would then shut down. Once I deleted the friends button It would allow me to stay. Crazy I know. I'm still trying to figure out why I cant visit some of you. I hope I can get this figured asap cause if I cant see sweet Harper for a day I go crazy. I can keep up with Baby Stellen and his little heart. ThankthegoodLord! So hang in there and know that I'm dying to see ya soon!
You and I have the same kitchen windows! I, too, recently dealt with this. I had to create an illusion of bigger (taller) windows. And it was a challenge having 2 windows instead of one. Yours is looking great!
ReplyDeleteOkay, first of all, I LOVE those curtains!! That is such a great idea to alter that curtain that you love in order to make it fit. And you did SUCH a lovely job on it!! I love that you are doing it right, sewing it, putting on pretty fringe, and even the nice backing!! Love!
ReplyDeleteWanna come over and help me make some?? I need to learn how to sew!!
Okay, moving on to the computer problem. I was having problems with my site last week. A lot of readers weren't able to access my blog. It automatically shut them out. I had to do 2 things: suggest that they use Mozilla Firefox instead of Internet Explorer. I also had to delete the last video and audio clip that I'd put on my blog. Turns out it was the audio clip. Just a suggestion! Hope you get it worked out soon!!
Sometimes being only half full is just the enough.
ReplyDeleteTips for larger windows.. hang the rod higher than the frame and a few inches beyond on the outside frame if one is hanging sheers.
Learned that from my designer when I started working with her.
As always, the colors are perfect.
Super job! Now that is what I call "window treatments" not just curtains. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLove the curtains ~ your are so talented! You're not alone. We are having some of the same computer problems ~ my husband is working on it but for the time being, I can't download or go anywhere new until he figures this out.
ReplyDeleteJo
The curtains look great, and you have done a wonderful job making them look bigger. Sorry about the computer problems. Ours is old so I have just put up with a lot of little gliches. Hope you get it figured out soon. Have a great week. Jackie
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you are having computer problems! Your window treatment looks fabulous!
ReplyDeleteLove what you did with that curtain fro Target - so creative!! Good job!
ReplyDeleteLindaSonia
I love what you did to the curtains...I find that lining not only makes them look all nice from the street but it gives them more body and they hang so much better. I would so be out walking and looking in your windows...It drives me crazy when people keep their blinds/curtains closed and I can't take a peek!:) I think you are right on about the followers gadget...I have had a few strange things happening as well. It hasn't shut me out of any blogs (yet) but it keeps closing the facebook pages when my kids are on. Keep us posted on what you find out!
ReplyDeleteThe curtains look great! I like it when my neighbors leave their blinds and curtains open too! :)
ReplyDeleteThe curtains are fabulous! So sorry (and scary) about the computer and the friends button. Makes me think twice about taking mine off too. sigh. Have a great Monday!
ReplyDeleteVery cute curtains! You are doing a great job even while procrastinating :)
ReplyDeleteSure hope all of the frustrating computer problems get worked out soon!
my kind of girl...love it!

Susie, we were having some problems a while back and we had to switch to Mozilla Firefox - things are working much better now.
ReplyDeleteYour window treatments are beautiful - gotta love target!
Blessings,
Mandy
They are beautiful - even half way completed. Can't wait to see them both up.
ReplyDeleteHave a great Monday.
I'm sorry you're having such stinking trouble with the computer! :(
ReplyDeleteGreat curtains! I did something similar once..bought a panel and cut it down in order to make a valance. You can use the extra fabric for lots of other stuff too!
I loved that you sewed it onto the rings - hide those ugly hooks that I don't like, but don't know what to do without them.
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love your curtains. FUN!
ReplyDeleteIn regards to the computer. I don't think it's a virus since one of my computers does the same thing. My hubby is a computer geek and on my upstairs computer, mine computer freezes up as well. I can browse certain blogs, but when I get to 1/2 of them it freezes up, and shuts completely down, including my own. It's an older computer with updated hardward, but he says it's because certain aspects of new technology isn't compatible with our upstairs computer, and some sites that have more technology on them will make it not compatible. Now on my hubby's laptop and our new computer, every thing is completely fine, so I have been able to compare the two. I thought as long as I had updated hardware I should be able to browse anything.
Just something to look into, and wanting to encourage you that I don't think it's a corruptible virus on the friends thing.
When you find out, let us know. :)
Oh, Susie, I love your curtains. I am so sorry about your computer woes. You know how I love to come by here so I hope you get it all figured out.
ReplyDeletelove what you did...not knowing what you were doing:) xo, mickey
ReplyDeleteYour curtains look beautiful Susie! You did an awesome job..I can only dream of doing something so pretty.

Your curtains look SO great!! Love that fabric! And I'll admit that I also love to sneak a peek in windows to see how the neighbors decorate! :) LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteSusie, your curtains are so cute! I wish I would have thought of that idea. I attempted a mistreatment in my kitchen and basically...I hate them. It wasn't cheap though so I'm trying to decide what to do. Might just ditch them and start over. Getting a panel was a fantastic idea!
ReplyDeleteLove the curtains! They are adorable! Love the curtain rod as well!!! Hope your computer problem gets solved. I would be lost without mine!!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE your new curtains. BEAUTIFUL!! I too love peeking in people's windows that are open.....mine are open every day! I LOVE looking outside too. I hope you can get back around to visiting everyone soon.♥
ReplyDeleteThe curtains look great! I hope you get your weird computer stuff worked out soon. It's so frustrating not to have access to your favorites!
ReplyDeleteI love the curtains!!!
ReplyDeleteHope I'm not one of the bad blogs. I have Windows Vista and it has some really great filters...not sure if that might be a problem for you, since I am not computer savvy at all.
When you're able to come by the Back Porch, I think you will like the powder room makeover, I posted last Thursday. I believe it is right down your ally.
We're on our way to the lake this morning. Want to enjoy the weather before it gets too hot and that could happen in just a couple of weeks.....Missouri weather, ya know.
Love the curtains!
ReplyDeleteI am going to go with the other suggestions, try out Firefox. The computer was freezing up (no where special), and it was just really frustrating. We were having to just turn it off to get some response. I downloaded Firefox and haven't had problems since. I had to get used to the Favorites compared to Internet Explorer, but I haven't had any freezing since. Good Luck!!
Beautiful. I love what you did and I'm sure that 100% will look incredible.
ReplyDeleteI love when you see something that you know you can do something with it...even if it is not the right size!!
ReplyDeleteYour curtains are adorable! Love the color...very stylish! You did a good thing!!
I love the computer until there is trouble...and then I am helpless! I tell Hubs all the time that alot of people have gardeners, pool boys, maids, etc. I need a TECH BOY on call!! har har
Gorgeous curtains! I need my daily Harper and Stellan fixes too. : )
ReplyDeleteLovely! It's a very beautiful window treatment!
ReplyDeleteLove the curtains...you did a great job too.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the computer issues:)
The curtains look great! Perfect colors!
ReplyDeleteOh, I hate computer problems, hope you get it all fixed soon. And those curtains are really pretty!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad someone else will admit to looking (not in scary way!) into people's windows and getting glimpses of their decor. I love that! :)
ReplyDelete~ Sarah
Love the curtains (and the rod!) Looks great, even with only one done! Hope you get your computer fixed soon!
ReplyDeleteLooking GOOD! That's a beautiful window to look out of and the extra touches really make the curtains something special!
ReplyDeleteSo funny that you mentioned you like to peek in your neighbors windows while walking through your subdivision....I do too!!!! At least now I know I'm not crazy!
ReplyDeleteLove the new curtains...my favorite color combo!
Susie...I love your new curtain....never would have thought of buying one panel and making it into a valance...but that is why I foloow you cause you share all the great design secrets.
ReplyDeleteNow I will be looking at all things differently.
Have a great evening!
The curtain looks great. I really like the fabric. I hope you figure out your computer woes quickly!
ReplyDelete~Michelle
I saw no dust on your curtain rod! Love the curtains.
ReplyDeleteLOVE those window treatments! Who cares if they're only half done. That's what I love most about you...you keep it real! Good luck with your computer woes...that really stinks.
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday ~ Amanda
p.s. I'm having a giveaway to celebrate the grand opening of my etsy shop. I'd be honored for you to stop by and enter!
Love the curtains. And I also love the paint color!
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty, Susie! Had to laugh because I always hope the sun will magically heat the wrinkles right out of my curtains, too. Sometimes it helps to spray a little of that Downy Wrinkle Releaser on and tug at them when the sun doesn't do its job. Ha.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your computer issues. That's terrible!
Susie the curtains are sooo pretty!
ReplyDeleteVery creative of you.
Love the ferns, the bus and the crawfish too.
I'm from NW Florida origionally and have had them many times. Yummmy!
Have a blessed day.
~Melissa :)
Just found your blog and you are too funny! Love your curtains! I have the same panel in our half bath that I made a mistreatment with for the tiny window and a sink skirt!

First and foremost, let’s get one thing straight: Herve Leger Dresses“There’s an incorrect assumption about Herve that it’s only for evening,”Herve Leger sale Lubov told me up on the 18th floor of her Oktoberfest Costumes Times Square showroom and headquarters. “It can be worn anytime! People also assume that it should fit really tight, but personally I wear it one size bigger because I like the comfort of it while still getting the silhouette.”Herve Leger Replica These are the dresses that are coming into our stores and online now, and these are the dresses that are going to show up come Saturday, because as we pointed out in our runway report last season, an Herve Leger show is full of Herve Leger dresses.
