This wall is so patiently waiting for...

This! Why is it just leaning up against the wall? Well, because one son has decided that it is more fun to hang out with friends then to help his mother do home improvements. Go figure! I tell ya, what has this world and teenagers come to. He did want to travel to Amy's house though, to help her out in a Jiffy. She has four beautiful daughters...now just how can a Mom compete with that! Guess I better learn to use that miter saw on my own.

Now here is where I need some real help. I'm looking for this jewel.

Is it not just the prettiest thing ever. I have looked hi and low to find it and I need yall's help. If anyone has seen this in a store near you..please tell. I would be forever grateful~

Speaking of pretty..does this room make you feel all fuzzy inside. Well, OK maybe not fuzzy but I sure do love it. What is it about those blues and browns that just make you relax. I kind of thought they would go out of style by now {because I'm trying to add a bit here and there} but nope.. I hope they are here to stay for a while.
I'm all excited about tonight because I get to dress up all fancy and see my husband in a suit {if it still fits}. Nothing is better than seeing your man in a suit! You know what I'm talking about ladies.{blush..blush}! Secretly...between you and me..I'm so hoping he asks me to dance~ I will let yall know how the night goes. Wish me luck! PS.. I really don't like to dance but to just be close and smelling his cologne is so worth it. See ya gals!
Ohhh you go girl, go and have some fun with your sweetheart. Hmm I will be out and about this weekend and I'll look around.

I ripped that whole spread out of Southern Living for my "dream book"! Love it. Thanks for coming by and voting on fabric swatches. I'm excited to finally get something going in the dining room. Have a great time with your man!
ReplyDeleteBoy will be boys. Hope you and your hubby have a wonderful time.
ReplyDeleteWith four beautiful daughters I can see why the help came to a screeching stop for your son...lol
ReplyDeleteOoooo I hope you and your hubby have a wonderful night!!
There is a great hardware store here that has all kinds of unique wood appliques. I'll check it out for you and hopefully it will be there waiting. I'll let you know.
ReplyDeleteA date! Have fun.. And the girls said to send Jesse on over! lol
ReplyDeleteOh yes, that room in SL is to die for! I copied her pillow ruffles in my living room. Love the blue and brown...don't have any of it though.
ReplyDeleteHave fun with your hubby. If he doesn't ask you to dance then hint!
Cindy at Romantic Home (she is listed as one of my favorite blogs on my side bar) she has done a lot of refurb. work and has used several pressed wood pieces like this one!
ReplyDeleteAlso - thank you so much for all of your kind remarks on my blog about my husband ...and our journey through his illness. Comforting words go a long way.
sweet! i love it! and when it's all done, what a joy it will be!!!
ReplyDeleteetsy would be my first place to look...people there are awesomely crafted and have great taste!!!
Don't you know when boys see girls in the picture then moms are always going to come in after that....everytime unless...well need to come up with something...
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun time tonight with your man...have a good one! Yep I like smelling my hubby's cologne also.
Will look around in my small town and see if I see this design or something close to it.
You are so sweet! Yes, something about my husband all dressed up gives me the butterflies, too. Here's hoping he asks you to dance!
ReplyDeleteOOOOOOhhhh, I would love to see my hubby in a suit and go somewhere fancy and maybe get to dance.....
ReplyDeleteI'll be thinking of you and wishing for you, too:)
Ohhh...Have fun! I hope you get a dance! I love lying my head on Zack's shoulder, close and that cologne!! Ahhh...Anyways. I will be on the look for the little molding embellishment. It might be a piece you could order from one of those two home improvement stores.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what you do with the molding!
The dance sounds devine, Susie!
ReplyDeleteDid you try Renovation Hardware or Van Dykes, for the piece? They might have what you are looking for.
Hope you had so much fun! And yes, that is a stunning room. I too, ripped it out and saved. For some day.:)
ReplyDeleteLidy
PS:
ReplyDeleteI am so happy to see another blue dining room!!! This one is gorgeous!
Have a wonderful time with your hubby!
ReplyDeleteOh how I love your taste. In rooms that is.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you have great taste in husbands too, have a great time!
Oh, Susie! I hope you have a wonderful time tonight and get to dance your little socks off, well, maybe your hubby's little socks! It's probably good your #1 son is off with friends or you'd be too tire to dance!! Oh, the wooden thingy is beautiful! I hope you'll get help in locating one!
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
shelia ;)
I'm with ya...that room makes me feel all warm and fuzzy! I love, love, love that color combo. I hope it NEVER goes out of style.
ReplyDeleteHave a wondefully fantabulous night with your suit wearing, cologne smelling hubby! I hope he asks you to dance. (I feel like I'm in 7th grade again)!
Happy Weekend ~ Amanda
Oh, I can so relate to your just to be close and smell his cologne. That gets me every time!!! Can't wait to see your finished project...tell your son us ladies out here in blogging world need him to help you!!!
ReplyDeleteSee...told you about the "tool thing"...workin' already:)
ReplyDeleteWe have a speciality store with molding and things like you are looking for. It's pretty pricy though???
Have fun with you guy tonight and take pictures to share!!!
heehee, what the blazes IS that, waiting to be installed?? I must be extra-ditzy today. Looks like vertical blinds to me!! :)
ReplyDeleteAs for the appeal of the suit, my hubby had to wear one every day a couple years back, to the absolute worst job he ever had. It was not the most fun phase of life for us. I get way more excited about comfy, weekend clothes--because that tells me he's happy and ready for adventure! :)
Hope you get that dance...
I came over from Kelly's Korner to tell you how sorry I am about your little dog. We have had so many dogs and each one has been a part of the family, so I know it hurts to lose a dog.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I was reading your blog and since you are looking or a little decorator molding I might be of some help. (Hubs is the wood worker) One of his mags he gets has wood molding you can order to add to pieces. Look at rocklerpro.com
Blessings, Judy (Kelly's Mom)
A cabinet shop should have what you are looking for. I've even seen them at Home Depot and Lowe's, maybe just not quite this "chunky". Also, a woodworking shop should have them as well.
ReplyDeleteThat first photo with the "FDL" plaque/tin....that is the one my sister keeps NAGGING me about. HA!
ReplyDeleteTell me what it is......or how it can be done. OR if you can still do them.
When you get the chance of course...HA!
Joyce
Oh Susie, what a pretty color - what's it called?
ReplyDeleteSue how much more crap can you take. You are the strongest person I know. I am still in shock about Drake. I know how much you loved that little dog. I'll call ya in the morning, we gonna have a great pampering girls day, my treat.
ReplyDeleteHow fun! Y'all have a wonderful time!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if you can find those pretty pieces at Lowes or HD?? If I run across one, I'll let you know.
Hugs,
Susan
Just read your sister's comment...I am guessing that all is not well at your house. I am so sorry!! Bless your heart!
Have your tried Van Dyke's restorers on line? They have a ton of that stuff. Jen
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful time with your husband ~ love the way they smell when they're all dressed up and going out!
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen one as lovely as you have posted. I have seen them at Lowes in the past but they were slightly different.
Jo
Just felt the need to tell you once again how much I enjoy visiting your lovely place :) Glad you are having a wonderful evening!
ReplyDeleteOh! I hope you got to dance! I agree....there is nothing better!
ReplyDeleteNow, I have a friend who says there is nothing better than seeing her man with a paint roller in hand ;). LOVE the room!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Dear One, hi I have something for you.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Hope you had a fabulous time with your hubby...in his suit...with his great cologne....
ReplyDeleteIf I find this pretty piece, I will buy it and send it to you!!
Susie - I am always a day late and a dollar short, as we say here in TN, but I hope you had a wonderful date with your hubby! And I can't even get my son to take out the trash, so at least you got SOME manual labor out of yours! The Southern Living Room is my inspiration room - still on paper - but my darling daughter tells me this is what I should do so I am hanging on to those photos for dear life until I get it accomplished. It's Beautiful - enjoy this week...
ReplyDeleteWell, I will definitely have to check out your sister's blog, just in case, lol.
ReplyDelete:)
Hi Dear One! Did you get your wood up yet? Oh, that didn't sound right, did it? But you know what I mean! :)
ReplyDeleteOh, thank you...I hope I'll get some grand baby bumps soon. If not, I may have to borrow Maddy!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
The piece in the photo is an olive leaf onlay by Kraftmaid. How do I know these things? I am a DIY kitchen design addict/bargain hunter who purchased the corbels for her kitchen on eBay (saved a TON of $$ over the big box store price). There is one for sale now on eBay... Kraftmaid onlay
ReplyDeleteOf course, you can get a price at your big box or KM dealer.
Love your blog, BTW!
Janice
Hi Susie!
ReplyDeleteI use this website to find great-looking wood appliques.
THIS ONE might just do the trick...but I'll let you be the judge! :-)
Layla
First and foremost, let’s get one thing straight: Herve Leger Dresses“There’s an incorrect assumption about Herve that it’s only for evening,”Herve Leger sale Lubov told me up on the 18th floor of her Oktoberfest Costumes Times Square showroom and headquarters. “It can be worn anytime! People also assume that it should fit really tight, but personally I wear it one size bigger because I like the comfort of it while still getting the silhouette.”Herve Leger Replica These are the dresses that are coming into our stores and online now, and these are the dresses that are going to show up come Saturday, because as we pointed out in our runway report last season, an Herve Leger show is full of Herve Leger dresses.
ReplyDeleteThere are certainly a lot of details like that to take into consideration. That is a great point to bring up. I offer the thoughts above as general inspiration but clearly there are questions like the one you bring up where the most important thing will be working in honest good faith. I don?t know if best practices have emerged around things like that, but I am sure that your job is clearly identified as a fair game. Both boys and girls feel the impact of just a moment’s pleasure, for the rest of their lives.
