This room is small I tell ya. It should be an office but you just cant mix an 8yr. old with a 16yr... Not gonna happen!
Most people would say you just cant go dark in a small space or you shouldn't do this or that... well ladies. I broke all the rules and it was so much fun! I wanted to wait until the room was "done" and {just right} but that will never happen so enjoy!

I will try and answer some of the questions that yall had.. It's this big and the wall color is Oiled Teak 96173. It's Color-Place...good ole' WalMart! For the {Madison} I used left over trim from my base boards and the pink was just craft paint. I would recommend using a gloss to give it a shine~

Did yall spot that chandi as you came in?

It's just like her big sisters. It's made of wood and is just too cute. Im thinking about making a pattern and offering it to yall if you would like....easy!

You would think it would be easy to take a good picture of such a small space but not really. Madison has hounded us for years for a bunkbed. I hate them and held her off as long as I could. I mean she had such a cute bed before this, ugh!

I gave in and used it to my advantage. We wont tell her that though, smile. Because of the limited floor space she had a hard time leaving her toys out. My solution on that fix...

We left the mattress out and put a sheet of plywood instead and covered it with a foam mattress. Then topped it off with a cute sheet...there you go!

A play loft! Now she can let her imagination run wild and momma wont clean it up.

I believe a child should play and dream and grow and what better way to get your design skills on! You go girl....talk about a window treatment~

We have yet to find the perfect spread in the perfect shade of pink. No worries though because this fuzzy warm blanket fits her just fine for now and allows me to save for a new one.

I love how her white trim just pops now.

For her curtains we went out all fancy...one flat sheet! Take that sheet, cut her down the middle and sew a seam up each side....no one will ever know!

I will add some fancy trim here and there but for now she's still a work in progress

I must be honest here and show yall the inside of her window...it's pink. Not because I thought it would look cute to do {and it does} I just got lazy painting so there ya have it.... one small room still {always} under construction.
{I hope yall check back Monday because I have few things to share with all of you. Some things you may be interested in and the reason why some great things must come to an end...for now. So hope you can make it back here on Monday so I can spill the beans.....Dont worry,Im not going anywhere, smile~
I'm a little nervous about your announcement, but waiting anxiously. :)
ReplyDeleteThe room is beautiful! I bet your little girl just loves it. It's her very own space.
I LOVE what flat sheets can do. I just did a post yesterday about what I used mine for. I also used one for a shower curtain and I used them in my living room for curtains. Can't beat the price!
ReplyDeleteSarah
I'm with Tiff...a little anxious... : )
ReplyDeleteBut Maddy's room is just gorgeous, and that was great thinking about the bunk bed!
I'm kind of nervous about your post on Monday too....
ReplyDeleteLOVE her room!! Everything is so cute! She is one stylish girl!
that room is just precious...and I HAVE to have that chandy you made...well...at least one LIKE it..:O)
ReplyDeletecutie patootie room...and i made the exact curtains for sofia's room. that's hysterical. our bedrooms are super tiny too, so i love to decorate them with "wide looks" in mind. love the wood chandelier!!!!
ReplyDeleteIs there a reason I am not looking forward to Monday's post? Something about the wording made me a little nervous. On the other hand, the room looks so GREAT! That chandelier is adorable! You will have to share those, and the "play loft" is a stroke of genius!! I love it all!
ReplyDeleteWhere did you fine those sheets, Suzie-Q? They go with my study!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Susan
You've gotten our interest up in blogland!
This is an adorable room! Lucky daughter you have!! Great job!
ReplyDeleteDoesn't Miss M just love her room???? I sure do!
ReplyDeleteSuzanne
Susie, what a sweet room you've made for little Maddy! Love everything about it and the bunk bed place spot is genious!
ReplyDeleteNow, I'm concerned about Monday! What are you up to?
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Now how can you leave me hanging like that!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks great...I'm really lovin' that monogram...I gotta do this!
Looks great! Madison will enjoy her room for a long time.
ReplyDeleteThey had chandeliers like that at Bath & Body works as part of their display. Too Cute
ReplyDeleteIt's so cute, my friend. LOVE IT!! But what good things need to come to an end? Wait all weekend? :)
ReplyDeleteI love what you did with her room. I totally understand the small room. My daughter's room is TINY and with all the toys, there is no room for anything. We actually bought a loft bed from Ikea and turned it into a playhouse for her to play underneath. Otherwise, she would never have been able to keep all her toys!
ReplyDeleteIf I ever get my blogging together, I'll post the bed, it really turned out cute if I must say so myself! But it's more enjoyable to read everyone else's blogs and I always have to check to see what you are up to!
Thanks for sharing!
The room is great and I bet Madison just loves it!
ReplyDeleteThat's adorable. My daughter has been hounding me about a zebra room. I'm putting it off as long as I can.
ReplyDeleteI turned out really cute! I'm sure Madison is in love with her room.
ReplyDeleteThe window treatment reminds me of what Lola did to her house. But she used gold pants! I blogged about it earlier this week!
What you got going on Monday? Very mysterious!
It's beautiful - just like I knew it would be:) I think the flat sheet/curtain idea is awesome!
ReplyDeleteThis is so sweet! I love the combination of brown and pink.
ReplyDeleteHer room is so perfect for a girl her age...And the color will grow with her! I am so thankful to see that color in a small room...I was so worried about painting a small room a darker color for fear of closing it in and appearing smaller.
ReplyDeleteWondering what your going to announce....Hmmmm.
The room looks fantastic, you are one very talented lady and I just LOVE the chandelier!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful room for your little girl!
ReplyDeleteMandy
It's beautiful, Susie!!

ReplyDeleteI did get it from the HGTV site... I need to be better about photo credits!... I'm sure I'll have a huge law suit on my hands someday. I'll link up to you with it today now that I'm "in the know."
Your blog is great... I'm not sure where you find the time for all your great decorating. I'm still trying to chisel out a schedule for crafts.
I love it..you did an awesome job and I know she is so proud of it.

Im. A. Dork. I had a reader post a comment and say it was hers. I went to her about page and clicked her blog... only it wasn't her blog, it was yours. She's a devout follower of you! She doesn't even have a blog. DUHHHH.... maybe I ought to read!
ReplyDeleteSo, I guess you can claim some credit since she follows you, right? Thanks for putting up with my royal dorkness.
Sorry my friend!

ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Debbie
I love this room! The play loft is a perfect idea! I also gave into bunk beds~maybe I'll borrow the play loft idea:). THANKS!
ReplyDeleteWhere....oh where....please tell-ah me where is your etsy store? I finally got a couple of extra bucks and went to go purchase some cuteness and it's GONE.
ReplyDeleteI'm stressing. I need me some pretty.
Cute room Miz Susie!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty room and a very lucky little girl!
ReplyDeleteLittle Logans top bunk is used for a loft type toy place also, only instead of doll houses, its a wrestling ring!
ReplyDeleteCute solution for the bunk bed dilemna...And I am a flat sheet user too- but I use them to line my drapes here in cold Iowa- I cut some flannel ones up and put them up in the winter, take down inthe summer....cuts down on drafts in these big old houses...
ReplyDeleteLove it Susie. It looks fabulous! I hope you can join in on my party on the 25th. Jen
ReplyDeleteOH HONEY!
ReplyDeleteYou know I'm dying to have a pattern for that chandie! I've loved it ever since you showed it months and months ago.
You have a lucky little lady, with a very beautiful, personalized room.
what a beauty! i bet she can't wait to show it off to all her friends. super job.
ReplyDeleteI too was getting a little nervous at the ending thing. I am so glad you aren't going anywhere!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the room, the chandelier, the loft, just everything. It is so cute.

ReplyDeleteThat is great. We have a small space too and want to get bunk beds where did you find yours it is really nice.
ReplyDeleteSo adorable. Great idea with the bunk bed and play loft.
ReplyDeleteRuth
so cute!! i'd love the pattern for the wooden chandi! that's adorable!
ReplyDeleteBrown and Pink are one of my favorite color combinations especially for a little girls room! Who doesn't love an animal print thrown in? I love rooms like this...original! Since you've done the work yourself, no one else can have one exactly like hers! Rooms like these tell far more about the occupants, too! Love it! Lucky little girl!

That's beautiful! I'm a dark paint color girl all the way - despite my MIL shaking her head at me. :)
ReplyDeleteLove your chandelier too! You did a fabulous job.
Loved the chandelier and would totally love a pattern so we can make one for my DD's room!! Fabulous job!
ReplyDeleteSusie, that is all so beautiful. Maddy is a lucky girl to have such a talented Mom, because everything you touch has that Midas touch to it. I used sheets for a long time when my children were young. Love the big M on the wall especially. I already know what Monday brought, so I must have missed something that was deleted, but I do pray you are fine today and don't go away, but I do know where to find you, since you are not far away from me. Love and Hugs, Pat
ReplyDeleteI don't get to surf blogs very often, but I always love coming back to yours to catch up! I was excited to see your daughter's room 'cause we just finished up on my 11 year old's room (you can see it on my blog!). I was glad to see that another mom out there did her daughter's room in zebra stripes! My daughter had definite ideas about how she wanted her room done, and I was just happy to help! ( I think she needs one of those "chandis"!)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the most amazing blogs and your website was outstanding. it seems you use fresh content i really like it.

First and foremost, let’s get one thing straight: Herve Leger Dresses“There’s an incorrect assumption about Herve that it’s only for evening,”Herve Leger sale Lubov told me up on the 18th floor of her Oktoberfest Costumes Times Square showroom and headquarters. “It can be worn anytime! People also assume that it should fit really tight, but personally I wear it one size bigger because I like the comfort of it while still getting the silhouette.”Herve Leger Replica These are the dresses that are coming into our stores and online now, and these are the dresses that are going to show up come Saturday, because as we pointed out in our runway report last season, an Herve Leger show is full of Herve Leger dresses.
