You wouldn't find this room showcased on HGTV. Nope. Only in my house would you find such a beauty to behold. If you have an 18 year old son still living in your home you know where Im coming from.
They do this to the window so they can sleep on into the day...

Luckily, my boy is 2 1/2 and has no opinion about decorating. The odots, however, he is guilty of...still in diapers!

I could have written this post! I have a 17 year old stepson and a 12year old son. I keep deodorant in my car for them. LOL.
ReplyDeleteMy 12 year old shoes ALWAYS REEK. It is mandatory that he keep them in his room for fear they'll scare away any company!
And the boys have all their blankets hanging on the windows. It is like a cave up there so they can stay up late and then sleep in late...Of course most of the time I can't even enter the room for the clothes piles they have....I think they are trying to keep me out....and guess what?
Its working! I'd rather not know!!

LOL! I have girls, but the way things are starting off, we might be like that in 14 years...it amazes me the mess that can be made against all of my efforts of having a clean house!
ReplyDeleteI learned something over here yesterday...corbels! I never knew what they were called and I was watching HGTV, and a lady asked what those fancy things were called...I stuck my nose in the air, and thought, "Corbels of course ~ doesn't everyone know that?!" LOL...expanding my vocabulary!
I've got a 10 year old boy . . . I can see where we're headed. It's already beginning!

Yes, yes....YES!! I can relate totally! My "boy" turns 22 yrs. old tomorrow..I cannot even believe it. However, sorry to say-the size 14 boots left right in our entryway where they are a safety hazard to all who enter our home, starting his night at 10:00 PM (I've already been asleep for hours), the laundry.. etc. STILL ever present. He is away at college now, heading to law school in the fall... so I can only get to experience these joyous things when he is home on break. There are such JOYS that come along with "boys" too! Makes you appreciate your hubby that much more-we know the road they traveled.

Yesterday after he left to go to work, (in Kansas, from Ut) I found his electric blanket still on....and his boots looks identical to your sons.....LOL I do love my sons! ReplyDeleteMy 17 year old likes to sleep all day too, when she can. Her room stays a mess most of the time and she hates to clean...LOL... But I have learned to pick my battles as she brings home her report card with a 4.12 GPA. But eventually I have to say, "you need help with your room?" and she cleans it so I won't. She hates me to mess with her things...LOL

Yeah, that is keeping it real. I have an eleven year old boy who does the sheet thing over the window for darkness. We also have lots of boots right outside the back door. Isn't it lovely? I just keep reminding myself that one day I will miss seeing all those boots out there.LOL

ReplyDeleteI have a 19 year old boy and a 16 year old boy. The 19 year old is the worst! I was laughing at his window treatment, because my 19 year old tacks blankets over his wood blinds in the summer. Drives me crazy! I won't even show a picture of his bedroom. I have to say that my 16 year old always has a neat room. Amazing they are related!

ReplyDeleteI can't believe you didn't believe me about a kitten....lol! You will soon be blogging about all new things after your kitty tears everything up. Yep, they look cute and innocent but WATCH OUT!! Midnight has not been happy cause she has had to stay in the back bedroom (so our Lucy poodle doesn't hurt her after her spay and de-claw). She is wild enough though that she opened up one of her paws and now has had to be confined to a kennel. She is not happy at all about that. She will be able to be back out in the room starting on Saturday. At least after she gets to come back out in the house she won't be shredding anything anymore!!!!!

ReplyDeleteI won't stop dreaming...I'm a pisces after all. That's the sign of the dreamer! Anyway, I felt better today after getting the proceed check from the sale of our 1 1/2 acre lot. LOL On the drive home from closing I was thinking of a sign I saw that said, "If your lucky enough to live on the lake, then your lucky enough" and I am! Even though our home is small & not my 4100 sq ft dream home it is on the lake and we are lucky! Bigger isn't always better, right?!

This is so familiar. My son is now 22 and has his own place. Believe it or not, I miss all the quirky things he does. Even the dryer sheets in the shoes. The blanket clothespinned to the curtain is a new one. Gotta love it

ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! This so reminds me of my son and his days at home. It is soooooooo strange that now, in his own home, he is Mr. Neatness. Isn't it amazing?
ReplyDeleteMy son's 17, and I can totally relate. While his arched windows have white, 2", wood blind on them, they don't darken the room enough. That's why one is covered with a black Hefty bag, and the other is covered with a black, fleece throw. LOL
