Staying busy...

Today I just had to stop! I have been in "full speed ahead" mode for weeks now. This morning my little one, Maddy asked for me to have lunch with her today. Knowing I had a kazillon things to do I said "sure honey". Sometimes you just have to slow down and see what matters. The look on her little face when I walked into her lunchroom, priceless! We ate our grilled cheese and shared a few chips. That was just enough to make her day, mine too! So what if evrything on my list is not done... Im sure it will wait. Time wont.

In the counrty....

My sister Missy and her husband just bought a new place in the country. It's their little get-away for the weekends. Im sure the guys will do alot of hunting in the fall. It has around 65 acres, house, and a barn for horses. Marc and I and the three kids went to see it. It's very nice and I could see myself getting many books read. All you hear are birds and yes all of our children..... It was just fun family time. We hope to go again soon. Oh and to top it all off ... We boiled two sacks of crawfish with many mushrooms, onions, corn and we even boiled a pickle!!! Susie

One room down ,one to go...

Hold on to your hats ladies! I told you this was gonna be cute. I think it's so cute Im doing something like it in Kaylee's room too. She is going to have one a bit larger and then a smaller one. Im keeping them white but wouldnt they be just sweet in maybe a hot pink? Oh you could do so much with these babies. The girlie girl in me wants one in my room but I have man husband that is next to me. Dont think he would love it as much. I say that but he never says a word to anything I do in this house. I ask him "do you like this" and he say's "do you" .... Thats what Im talking about, trust. He trust my taste. Thank you honey..... Well tell me what you think. I will be working on Kaylee's today. Susie

Another idea....

Im working on a cute idea for my girls rooms. Wooden chandelier's??? Sounds cute doesnt it. Hope to share more about it real soon. It's gonna be too too cute! Manys hugs your way, Susie

Caught in the act...

These two little darlings are giving me a helping hand in my garden. Just dont know what I would do without their help! Drake is doing much better . I thought you would enjoy! Have a great one! Susie

ha,forgot the picture's....

Madison's headboard and tassel.....

Here are the pictures that I wanted to share with all of you. Yes,they are taken with my daughters camera. Need I say more, (smile). I feel like a little blurred is better than nothing. The headboard was made with just wood that I bought from Lowes and cut to size. I wrapped it in a few layers of "fluff stuff" that I stapled on. Then came the fabric... $2.00 a yard at Wally World. It took me a little over a yard to cover the board. I then stapled down where I wanted my buttons to be. Then I strung a small ribbon through the button holes and tied a knot. Took out "Miss GG" ,my trustie glue gun and glued those babies down. Waaalaaaa. There you go, so easy! I also wanted to share a few shots of Madison's tassel. I made one for her and didnt stop... they are so much fun to make. Not sure on the one I will keep and others to bring for the show.If Miss Nester flys by my blog I hope she finds my tassels worthy. Her's are to die for, honest! She has been making them for years and I only a couple. Maybe one day I will be as great as she, hehe. I keep dropping hints that I need a camera to survive in my blogland. My sweet hunny is not taking the bait. I will not charge a thing so I will just have to save till I get enough to buy one. Im trying hard to prove to the Lord that I can be responsible with his money. Not an easy task for me. Hope you enjoy the pictures - the blurrr. Have a great weekend! Many Smile's, Susie

Im such a duffus...

Ok, I will tell you this cause yall are my friends and wont judge me too hard. A while back I recieved a comment from someone that I didnt know. Sooo I just clicked on to see who she was. BIG mistake! She was a photographer and did alot of her work with nude clients. At first I thought it was maybe my friend Misty paying me back for a trick I played on her yrs ago. NOT! I took her comment off as fast as I could. I would have felt so bad if one of yall would have found it. I think she was from Spain. Anyway I thought it would be best if I would just check my comments first before putting them out for the world to see. The point Im getting at is... For days now I didnt see any comments. I started to worry. Did I say something wrong? Did I offend someone? Where were all of my sweet friends? Then it clicked. I had to proof read them because they just didnt pop up like they use to. Oh thank goodness. So Im just now getting to read all of my comments from days past. Thank you for sticking it out with me. I put my comments back up so if you should read a ick one please just let me know. Thanks... Susie

Mirror mirror on the wall...

Just a quick post to show yall the mirror that I found and repainted today. Please excuse the photo's I had to use my daughters camera. Susie

My friends...

Im sorry for being so greedy with my friends. I have been wanting to add all of my dear friends to my blog but just didnt want to stop and take the time. Now everyone can see where I visit everyday. Dont you just hate those trackers on peoples blogs!!! Now everyone can see how many times I check on them in one day. Yes, If you dont have a new post in the morning I think I have to keep checking in over and over. My goodness, I hope some of you dont think Im stalking. I know, I have one of those darn trackers too. I was just wanting to get an idea of who stops by to visit. I have had people from all over. So now you know... you are welcome to stop by as many times a day as you like. Not that Im all that but If your just like me(a bit nosey) Your always welcome! Oh I almost for got to tell you what I found this morning. I went to a garage sale nextdoor to my daughters school and found a huge mirror. It's UGLY and GOLD. I hope to sand and paint it this weekend. I know I still have to work on that sweet chair. Marc is going fishing so I may just have some time to work on it. Hope you have a blessed weekend..... Susie

Good news..bad news...

The good news first, Drake is doing much better. The Dr. put him on two med's 2X's a day. It's not easy giving him anything . He is up and about now. Now for the bad news... No pictures for a bit. My old camera died so my Dad let me use his for a while to see if I liked it. I did! The only thing is he now wants it back. What that means for me, no pictures. I have a hard time posting to all of you and not adding my pictures. I have a headboard that I made for Madison's bed(cute) and tons of new tassels to show you. I made a tassel to match Madison's bedroom and it came out sooo cute I had to make more. It has sweet little rose buds on it. Im so sorry I cant show all of you. Maybe after my next craft show I will have some fun money and I can purchase a new camera. Any suggestions on what kind? I would love to hear from you. So please hang in there with me and I will have pictures soon. Thanks for being so dear..... Susie

Here I am...

Guess you are wondering what happened to me and that chair. Well girlfriends, it's like this... Poor little darling, she is sitting all alone in my foyer. I have not cleaned her up or even shopped for her new outfit. I know.... What I can say is Im all over the place. Still trying to get ready for Canton and now I add another project to my list. Can you believe that! This weekend Marc and I bought Madison a new bed. She didnt like the headboard that came with it(what does a seven year old know). You know me, I will just make her one. I just may push the headboard before my sweet chair. I hate having a room undone.... Hope to get around to it starting on this today. Oh, to top it off, my sweet baby dog(Drake) is very sick. :( Susie

Ring Day......

Tonight was a big night for Jesse. He got his RING!!!!!I guess now you can call him a senior! Cant believe we have made it this far so fast. Oh where does the time go? He is off now to a ring day party. It's so scary... If I had my way he would be back at home. Guess this is where the worried parent kicks in. I just pray that he has a nice time and makes it home safe and sound. I dont even want to think about next year at this time. Senior trip.... I miss that little boy. Another sleepless night I guess.... Susie

before makeover....

Hi girls... Here are the pictures of that sweet little chair I was talking about. Isnt she cute!?.... I saved you the horror and took her cushion off. It was just too ugly to share. I havent started working on her just yet. I had to run get a much needed haircut today. Tommorow is jesse's ring day "night". I think I may have lost 3 pounds with all of the hair she cut.:) Anyway, I hope to give her a good sanding sometime today. Im not sure what style of fabric I want for her. Im kinda like Paula at Olivers... We both love damask. Im thinking of just going with a black stain or paint. I know anything will be an improvement. I will keep you posted. Oh, I think I may have forgotten to tell you how much I paid for the little darling. $6.00 what a bargin!!! Take care my sweet friends. I have some sanding to do:) Hugs,Susie

Just cant wait...

My dear sweet friends... I went shopping today for more ribbons and trims, oh my! Im in love with making tassels. It will be so hard to part with each of them soon. I will be taking my sweet babies to the Canton Mississippi Craft Show. It's so funny because I have grown attached to each one. Some I have even given names to :). After three hours of droooooling over devine trims and ribbons I headed for home. Of course I didnt make it straight home without stopping at this darling little shoppe. They always have something new everytime I visit. This time I found a chair! It looked pretty old and very icky... It even has its share of mildew. EWWWW .. I know the poor little darling was just about begging me to bring her home. I did just that. It's too late to take pictures so I will jump on it first thing in the morning. You have to see her. It wont be long I will have her all dressed up and ready to greet everyone. Hope to have picture's next time you visit. Sorry, If your like me you NEED picture's. Many hugs, Susie

Parents of prom night....

Just thought I would give you a peek behind the scenes. This is what the parents look like.... Jesse is dating our very good friends daughter, Meagen. As you can see our hair is not done and we are in warm up's. No it's not fresh makeup on our faces just smile's. Watching those two sweet babies going down that driveway, priceless. It's moments like these that I will forever remember. After they were out of sight we headed out to eat. Yes, dressed in our Momma attire. Im sure we will get very little sleep if any tonight. Lisa and I will call each other many times Im sure. Susie

Prom Night!

Just yesterday they placed that sweet rolly polly baby boy in my arms. He needed me to do everything for him. I was in heaven. At that moment my life changed forever. It was now complete. All of what I dreamed for when I was a little girl was right there in that room. Today my sweet boy is going to his prom. It was just that fast. One minute in my arms now leaving me for his prom. Im no longer that female that he runs to ... It's such a bittersweet moment, prom night. Just when I felt that my world had changed once again with my sweet little boy I heard him yell..... Mom, come here. I need you to dress me. Sweet words I needed to hear at that moment. Maybe he still needed me even if it's just a bit. I will hang on to every detail. I will cherish every second. I will try to let him grow up and enjoy it. I know that day is coming soon that he will no longer need me. Till that day Im just gonna love him up and be his Mom! Susie

Shhhh... I have a secret

My family thinks I have a problem. You see I love to change things in and around my house (daily). Because I live in the real world I have a budget. That limits what I can change and how much I can spend. Bummer I know but I do get creative. After changing some things up in the den and my dinning room my foyer was just bugging me. I love my yummy chocolate walls but they just didn't fit in with the new changes. PAINT... it's not the painting it's the chore of picking out the color. I know this little birdie that talks about her favorite color often. Tobacco Road.. Well I took her advice and went down that road. I cant believe that I chose a color that I have not seen, touched, and spent weeks on end with the paint chip in my purse. Yes ladies, I went out on a limb and trusted The Nester. Did she let me down ? Absolutely Not! I love it and yes it did make me smile. Just look how brighter my foyer looks now. It just flows right into my den. She said it would change my world and it did. It's a bit brighter thanks to Miss Nester. She has it going on ladies. I only wish I were half as nifty as she. Susie

What's In....

Last week I had the pleasure talking to a designer at a well known store in Baton Rouge. After strolling through and wanting one of everything she had I asked her the big question.... So what's the new big thing for this year? As you know Southern Ladies have their own style. It's not that we are behind the times or even ahead. We just know what we like and build around it. I of course have a house full of the ever so famous Fluer De Lis. I was in love with them long before they hit big. I have now moved on . My house cannot hold another. Dont get me wrong I still have a special love for them and they will remain a big part of my home BUT... New things are always welcome here. I have a long love for artichokes. Yes, I know isnt that crazy. You dont find many around but it's so much fun when you do. I think it's the thrill of the hunt. Getting back to what's new... Artichokes and Butterflys. Can you believe it! One other thing Im sure that yall have noticed already. Those sweet little nest are everywhere! Now with my brain full of knowledge (that I already knew and loved) I turned to my yummy Ballard Designs. Yes they had butterfly's flying all around their front cover. Gotta love it. Now to find my favorite artichokes. I still hold on to whats true in my heart. It's not what's in or out. It's what makes you smile. Now that you know artichokes are my love what's yours. I would love to know. Susie
