National Lampoons Christmas at our house...

If you ever wanted to know one of my favorite actors of all times... here he is! Chevy Chase. I know what you must be thinking. I met him in real life and he is very nice. Not all goofy funny like you would think. He is very educated and tall I might add. Im only 5' so that makes him a giant to me. Anyway... thought you might want to see what we did last night.

I had some of my family over for some home cooking and to watch the Christmas Vacation movie.

Feeding our young ones...

My sister and Miss Madison

My sister and I in our jammies....That's how we like to watch movies.

Before we watched the movie I had a pop quiz to see how well everyone knew the movie

Nothing like a good game!

Nick answered almost all of the questions right.. Madison did well too!

One of my favorite parts in the movie...

It was a fun night~

  2. Awwww, I want to come next time! I love that movie. Dh and I have a tradition that just involves us. On Christmas Eve (after Indy has gone to bed) we turn off the lights, except those on the tree and in the windows, light some candles and snuggle down to watch my absolute favorite holiday movie of all time, Holiday Inn. Talk about peace on earth. :)

  7. That sounds like so much fun, Susie. We love that movie too!

My friend JoAnn and her hubby were vacationing in Colorado, at the time the movie was shot. She said they came through, just after that car/truck scene was shot. They saw the truck with the car underneath. If they had been a little quicker, perhaps they would have seen the shoot.

  12. Watching this movie has been a Christmas tradition for me since I saw it in the theatre. My husband loves it too, and we watch it atleast 2x a year. Glad to know someone else out there loves it besides us. It doesn't look like you have a Cousin Eddy, unless he is parked outside emptying sewage in your yard without you knowing it! By the way I LOVE your blog!

  28. How fun!

The first time that move came up and Hubby told my family he had never even seen it, you would have thought he said, "I kick puppies for laughs!"

    They've since forgiven him... mostly.

  31. We love that too! OK,I am a lurking fan, but something finally prompted me to comment - your kitchen cabinets. Did you paint them? I have plain builder basic oak with a cathedral arch that I have been toying with painting for years. I have researched like mad but have yet to find ones that look like mine, but painted. If you don't think I am a crazy stalker, please shoot me an email at mmsimpson(at)cox(dot)net. Thanks so much!!!

  34. What a fun evening! My former neighbor of 18 years and I one night went out in our pajamas to buy ice cream and came home to watch a movie together. We always thought it gave us an extra sisterhood. Since that holiday excursion we have been giving each other different flannel pajamas at Christmas.

As for Christmas Vacation - it is hard to pick a favorite part of that movie. The squirrels were terrific but the explosion was great too. I think the pop quiz is a really great idea!

  37. Our family watches this movie every Thanksgiving weekend. It's tradition! We love it. Anything that goes wrong with our holiday doesn't measure up to everything that goes wrong with the Griswolds. Mimi

  40. I'm getting caught up on my blog reading, I can't believe I missed this post! We love this movie and always watch it during the holiday season but you've given me an idea for starting a new tradition to go with the movie watching, a quiz! LOL Thanks for sharing, looks like y'all were having some fun! Wish I could have joined in! I want to take the quiz, you should post it!

  41. Ad me to the list of those who want the quiz questions! I love that movie and what a great idea to have a movie night! "The B.L.E.S.S.I.N.G!" - one of my favorite parts :)
