Evacuate.... you dont need to tell me twice. We loaded what we could and followed my sister and her family to Southern Mississippi where they have a camp. I dont think we made it north enough because we ended up huddled together in the center of the house praying like crazy. Tornado's... just what we needed. Thanks Gus! We made it through that night with a lot of prayers and tears and some laughter believe it or not. I fell deeper in love with my husband my children. I saw a strength in my sisters eyes I had never seen before. I looked at her two kids and knew I loved them like my own. Her husband no longer felt like an in law but a brother. The mother came out in me and I just wanted to look into my kids eyes and tell them it would be ok and really mean it.... Thank you Lord... for your grace
The morning after we headed for home and passed this all the way
It only got worse the closer we got to our home
We passed a convoy of these. Some where all the way from Maryland
Our old church lost it's steeple
When we made it home this is what we saw... Maddy's playhouse was still standing
This was in our backyard... Where do you start?
My poor trees... We went ahead and just cut them on down....
Now after the storm we have to watch the back water.... It's getting closer and closer. I think we will be fine because it is going to crest this evening.
On to the fun part... Remember that tub? I use to fill it with bubbles and surround myself with candles and relax. Now I use it for washing our clothes.
What? No dryer?.....Nothing a broom and two chairs cant fix.
We lost all of our food but that's ok. I need to clean out my fridge anyway.
I hung sheets to help keep the cool in... not that it was cool by all means, smile
This is a house behind me through the woods. look at how that tree just snapped in two.
Here is another behind me... See the pretty blue tarp. They are all the rage this year. I thought I was cool with a blue ceiling, smile.
Humor... It's all I have left. All kidding aside... Im so very blessed! My family is all safe and had a home to come home to. So many people in my area were not as lucky. We were one of the hardest hit areas. It has made me look at life in a whole new way. I love my family even more and I can say that those pioneer ladies years ago... Had it going on. As we now have power we can watch the news... another headed our way? I dont know how much more we can take. Please, once again... pray. I cant wait till all of this is over and I can show yall some neat stuff I was up to before the storm. I miss all of you so very much and Im so touched by each and everyone of you. You are my true friends...in "real life"....smile!
