A Little Louis Vuitton and a clean closet....

Ok...so I cleaned my closet and a few others. What I got was bags of stuff for the Goodwill..

Some of the clothes are really good but I just hate to mess with ebay and a garage sale... So off to Goodwill I go... BUT..

I just couldnt put this in the give a way bag...

I know..I know.. it's just a purse right?

But it's a sweet louie....

So I thought I would show yall my sweet dear friend. He has seen his days.. I just couldnt drop him off to a stranger so I thought why not see if he is worth anything to one of yall..

His straps look good on the outside but on the inside where he hugged me so tight is a bit worn...still love him

See his little number

Ahhh Louie Louie

He has spent his days well and his insides show it. A few holes and some ink spots... but He can still be loved...

His little bottom got bumped but he is still sweet Louie..
So what do you think... Should I put him in the bag and look away or is there someone out there that wants to bid on louie? If you think he looks too bad and just needs to go straight to the ((trash)) let me know..but shhh I dont want him to know. So just leave me a comment. I have never sold my old stuff before but you just never know. Some of my favorite treasures were others peoples junk...
I do have some errands to run today so if you have a question about Louie I may be a couple hours getting back to ya. Have fun!

  1. Good Morning Susie,

Well I don't need Louis....but I'm sure it feels great to get your closet cleaned out. I have GOT to get into some of mine and get them manageable again!

  2. LOL Just this morning I was in my closet and had to kick entirely too many things out of the way just to walk in it. That's not good. I realllly need to clean mine out but I can't muster the will. lol

And LOUIS! DO NOT THROW HIM AWAY! I have a Coach (so low on the scale of purses next to a Louis!) that I can't bear to throw away... it's so old and I'll never carry it again, but still! :o)

    Have a great day!

  4. I have done cleaning closets in stages. The big cleaning will come when my daughter is able to move all of her stuff.

As for the purse, one person's trash may be another person's treasure. Have a great day. Jackie

  10. Came out of lurking .. Louis just does that to me! :)
Don't throw it away! I am sure you will get some bids. (including me)

You didn't ask me, but make sure you tally what you are giving to Goodwill. If you want to, you can write it off at the end of the year. Have you ever heard of "it's deductible"? Great software to show you what the IRS is willing to give for a deduction.

All part of being a good steward, for me anyway.

  11. It's the one thing I always have wanted! Your "trash" is definately another bloggers "treasure". I know it would be mine. So if you decide to give a Louis a "bidding" chance, let me know, I would be in the running!! Also thanks for all of your great inspirations. I love your ideas and thoughts! Have a blessed day and "Happy Cleaning"!!!

  12. Too, too funny. I'm glad you got all cleaned out. I hope you find a great home for Louie. At the present I am carrying a Black Toile purse that I got on clearance from Belk's this summer. It was $6.99 and I love it!!!

  14. I just spent all day Sat. and most of Sun. cleaning out my closet. I don't have enough room for both summer and winter so it's a chore. I like to iron and refesh every piece so I was ironing for HOURS and HOURS but my closet looks WONDERFUL!! I feel like taking a picture to show it off but...I won't :o)

  16. Cleaning closets, shhh..Don't say that too loud, the hubby might want me to do that. Our closet is unbearable at the moment. I am starting to hide away Christmas in there.

I will bid on it. I love purses and I don't have a Louis...

Just an idea, since there are people saying they would want him. You can hold a silent auction. Have everybody email you there bid (over the weekend say) and then Monday announce the highest bidder. It was just a thought! : )

  17. is the Louis real or is it a knock off? that will help with the bidding price.

  18. are you selling it on this page specifically? I will never own a new louis vitton, but I really love them, so maybe used is the way to go. I'd be interested if the price is reasonable.

  21. All these bloggers cleaning out closets is starting to make me feel guilty. I know that half the clothes in my closet need to go, but I just can't get started. I'm a citizen of Procrastination!

  23. Louis has become part of ur fam...you can't give him away! ok, that's not true, i guess, but someone else may be totally thrilled to have him as a new friend. :)

  24. A good friend of mine, Melanie, had a nice leather coach bag from a guy she used to date a few years ago...it was a bit worn, but she also felt guilty for taking the gift in the first place, but I LOVE what she decided to do with it.

There is a lady she works with out of state who loves nice purses, a purse freak if you will, and she was going through a hard time, so Mel just mailed her the purse. It really brightened that day, week, year for the lady who recieved it.

I would suggest if there is a woman at your church, or if you adopt a family at christmas time, you find someone who normally would not be able to afford an LV and let them have it, even if it isn't in the nicest condition, it may really make a woman feel lucky, and maybe just brigten her day.

  25. Don't even get me started on closets! Mine is such a disaster. I've got to find time to do something about it!

Don't you just love Louis! Can't say that I need another purse though since I just bought a new one for myself yesterday! My daughter said, "Did you buy ANOTHER purse mom?" Purses are almost as much fun as shoes!

  28. I just got mine last year from Louis Vuitton at South Park Mall in Charlotte, NC and anytime your purse tears, or the straps break, the company (not the store) will replace your bag for a brand new one. Call the company. I know what my husband spent on mine, so don't even think about the trash. That is a sin:)

  29. Ebay it! Last week I posted my first items. It was easy and now I have more money to buy more goodwill and garage sale stuff. I am getting ready for a garage sale right now and I have two piles. Ebay and Garage sale.

  30. OK, you get WAAAY too many comments! It's insane! :) LOL! I have no idea who claimed him or what anyone said in here, but my 2 cents: Take him to a leather shop and have him restored! Seriously! There are places taht restore purses and shoes... do it!! :)

  31. I would be VERY willing to purchase Louis. I would give him a wonderful home as I have always wanted one yet couldn't afford full price. Please let me know if you sell him. Thank you :)

  33. Susie, I met a young woman(you can read about it on my blog) and she and her family lost Everything with Ike. I know she would be so happy to have something like that or even a cheap purse for that matter. I am looking for things for her and I am cleaning my closet out also, because we are close in size. I have Bass shoes and others that have never been worn, so if you read my blog, let me know if you have more clothes to get rid of. She is in need of maternity clothes. Al and I are adopting them, even though we have a ton of medical bills. I think God brought her and me together today for a reason. Love and Hugs, Pat

  34. I would give him a good home! Are you going to list him on Ebay???

  35. Just a quick comment from a lurker who has worked at Louis Vuitton... don't take your Louis to a Louis Vuitton store or sell it as a real Vuitton on Ebay. It's a fake. The Bucket bags have a leather interior, that inside material on yours never came in any Vuitton bag, the leather in the straps should not crack that way and the glue around the straps should be bright red. I'm not writing to be rude or anything but I've seen some people come into the Vuitton store with fakes and they didn't know and they left completely embarrassed ready to take a hit out on the person who gave it to them and told them it was real. Take care!

  36. I would love a Louis. OMG! I have wanted one of these my whole life but just could not justify the cost.
    Maybe have a giveaway?

I would love to be included!

    Love your blog!

  37. Girl, I do hope you know that sucker's a fake! If you paid around $3,000 for it, then I feel sorry for you! You got taken!

  38. Keep it! I just read in the marie clare that one day your grand daughter will think you are a Rock Star if you can hand down a vintage LV!

  39. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but your Louis Vuitton is a fake. I hope you knew!

    ReplyDelete
  40. I bought a fake in China town and it is exactly the same....I knew it was fake though. I do have a real one, but I got the fake for a friend's teenager. The red on the edges of the handles shouldn't be like that if it's real. Also, the leather won't crack like that. You can tell by the inside as well. Sorry.
