Susie,
ReplyDeleteWe, too, are preparing for the worst. :-(
Mom & husband, and brother & his family are in Penscola. Kevin and I are 3 hours straight north of there. Guess I better hit the grocery store tomorrow too.
Hey, you know those old hurricane lamps are worth big bucks, right?
:-)

I am so glad you posted today. I have been concerned about you and your family and I HAVE been praying and will continue to pray for you and the entire gulf coast.
ReplyDeleteThanks for keeping us informed Susie.
Glad you are all stocked up!
Take Care,
Robin~♥
I hope things bypass you. I just read an email from a friend in Daphne, AL and they're preparing too.
ReplyDelete~ Sarah
My mom had one of those lamps when we were little...she would fill the base with colored water to match the season. So 70's I think!!
ReplyDeleteI hope the storm misses you and you'll just have extra in your pantry "because." Keep us updated if you can!!
Hi Susie,
ReplyDeleteYes, I've been thinking about you and wondering how close you are to where Gustav is supposed to hit! I'm so sorry. We're ready too! If he turns to the west ~ we're outta here! I hate this time of year! Well, I hate the hurricanes and all the damage they can do. Be safe and know you're in my prayers.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Hi Susie,
ReplyDeleteYour shopping cart must have looked like mine!
Don't forget the batteries for the radio and flashlights.
Wishing you much safety,
Diane

ReplyDeleteYou & your family will be in my prayers. Keep us posted.
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
ReplyDeleteHey Susie,
ReplyDeleteI hope your doing well through the storm. I'll be praying for you.
Brandee :-)
I have already been praying for you, Susie. It's easy to pray a blanket prayer for "South Mississippi" or "Louisiana" or "The Gulf Coast" when you don't "know" anyone...but now that I do I have been lifting you and your family up!
ReplyDeleteWe have two hurricane lamps that were my grandmother's and they always come out when our power goes out (if it rains just a little too hard!).
Stay safe! Try to keep us posted when you can.
Oh Susie, I was watching the weather report just a little bit ago and they were talking about Hurricane Gustave. It sounds like it could get very serious! I'm so worrid about you and all my southern bloggy friends! Stay safe!
ReplyDeleteMiss Susie,
ReplyDeleteI have been thinking of you all day as I here the weather reports. You are in my prayers. I pray that all will be well. And that you truly will weather the storm.
I tried emailing you again. Hopefully I did it right this time. I will understand if it takes you a while to answer.
Take care, my friend!
You would definitely make a good Boy Scout! My prayers are with you all!!
ReplyDeleteI see the Girl Scout in you! I must confess I had not been paying that much attention to where & how big Gustav was until yesterday when chatting with new neighbors who moved up here from New Orleans last year. They still own property down there and are beside themselves with worry for friends and family. I will keep them and you in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteI cant believe this may all be heading your way again. I am praying for you and the entire gulf coast. We are on the edge of the projected path in Texas......we have a place for you if you need to head to Texas.
ReplyDeleteWe are definitely keeping you in our prayers.
ReplyDeleteSusie,
ReplyDeleteYour family, as well as your entire part of the country, is in our family's prayers. It was so good to see that you had posted. Stay safe.
Kim
Susie,
ReplyDeleteLittle breath prayers are going up about every 30 minutes for your family and all those along the gulf, every time I walk through the den and see the weather update on TV. This is such dejavu for me, very similar to Katrina. Please stay safe and update when you can. Don't forget to fill up your tubs :)
-Hayley
I just found your blog and love it! We, too, always seem to lose power, though hopefully this one will be east of us.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you are well prepared. Hopefully, it will be a miss for your household.
Susie, I am praying for you and your family and friends. I hope this storm packs up and goes home. I am glad to see you posted, it lets us all know you are well. Hugs, Paula

-- Brandi
Glad that your prepared and ready. Take care!
ReplyDeleteHere via BATW...stay safe in your evacuation travels or tacking down...keeping my fingers crossed that some miracle occurs that makes Gustav dissapate!!
ReplyDeleteWhy is it that we buy more junk food than anything else for hurricane supplies? Our pantry is full of chips, cookies, cokes, etc! I guess we have to be happy in any small way during this time! Stay safe!
ReplyDeleteSusie, hoping for the best for all of you down nearer the coast. Hang in there!
ReplyDeleteRhoda
We're praying for you....my son and his family are on their way up here. They were without power for three weeks after Katrina. I hope all weather reports are wrong about this one.

ReplyDeleteJody
Susie, I tried to post before the storm hit, but our electricity went out before the storm. We just got ours back on Wednesday night, but lost all our food---just minor damage---my picket fence took a beating and the city is filled with tree branches on every block. I hear it may take a while for your electricity to come back on, so hope all went okay. My sister in Gramercy said it may take 2 weeks---so glad I moved back. Take care and will check daily to see if you are back. Prayers that it didn't do much to ya'll, but ya'll got hit pretty hard. Love and Hugs, Pat
ReplyDeleteGoodness - to watch the weather almost looks like someone is shooting storm balls at both Florida and the Gulf of Mexico! Hope you are well.
