No sew project for the 4th of July...

I needed something for my mantel and it had to be fast and cheap! Clearance fabric here I come....I made this pattern out of card stock

Cut out all of my pieces.....

Hot glued them on a strip of binding (I think thats what you call it). No sew Baby!

Hot glued ribbons on teach end to hang it by and...

Here you go!

One sweet Fourth Of July Banner. Wait till you see what's on the mantel.....

  7. Oh Susie, how clever of you! I love it, your banner is stinkin' cute and how easy was that?!?! I've been wanting to make one myself for quite some time but was on the fence, fabric vs paper And I work in fabric so I should have it made already, lol, no excuses! I guess I'm just a lazy dreamer! But I'm so loving your combination of fabrics. And I agree with Connie who posted that you have such great and REASONABLE ideas, lol Yeah we'd definitely get into some real crafting fun if we lived near each other!

  11. Cute. I need to fluff some for the fourth. I am not looking very patriotic around here. Started an ottoman project yesterday, and it is gonna be red. Does that count? Love your creative inspiration. Keep it up and have a wonderful day!

  33. Adorable! And with hot glue! Got to love that hot glue gun!

    And... we are neighbors!

I also saw your conversatory that you got so cheap at the Red Door in BR!

I love that place! Have you seen the "sale room" in the Royal Standard? Its in the back and full of great stuff too!

  37. Glue Gun projects are the best! Your instructions were so simple and the finished banner light your mantel up with 4th of July sparkle!I hot glue everything...almost...contrary to the rumor spread by my hubby I didn't really hem his pants that way!!

Susie thank you for the note at my blog. It truly was a "Sweet Surprise"!!I really appreciate your kind words.I wished others would follow your example of thoughtfulness...Sara Suprise Sucre'

  39. Yes - the Hooked on Houses information I was asking about was the one with the blue ceilings. I would love to see it if you remember the web sight. I am always thrilled to find new inspiration.

  40. How cute is that!? Now I feel like crud because in my frugal state of mind I just let the boys put mini flags I got on clearance at Target for $3.00 in the flower beds.

I need to step up my game I think!

  41. Can't wait!!! Can't wait, either, to get internet access and cable at the apartment!!

  42. That is too funny that you made that. I bought some fabric just the other day to do the exact same thing on my porch. I love yours, it looks awesome. Now, if I can get mine done before the 4th. I'm lucky, here in Utah we celebrate the 24th too, so most people keep their decorations up for a month.

  43. Those flags are great! I saw the one at Joys of Home and also Lipstick and Laundry and that is the first thing I wanted to do. Bought some fabric at Wal-Mart to make a banner like the one on the fireplace. I'm just a little late don't ya think?

  44. I'm so envious that you have a mantel. We have a very ugly, but-oh-so functional woodstove. No beautiful mantel to hang decorations from..sigh. Your patriotic banner is fabulous!

  45. I love your banner....and so easy to do....who woulda thought?

  46. That is an awesome banner. I am stopping by from K and K's! Hope you have a lot of visitors. Love how you whipped out that flag board. Talented people are cool!

  48. I made one of these for Amelia's birthday party back in May, and I did it the same way you did. I love them! Now I want to keep making more for every occasion...hahaha! They are cute. And I call that stuff binding, too.
