Jesse's Bedroom...

Before I show you Jesse's room I thought I would give you a sneak peek what's in store for our next room...

This is a peek of what you will find in Kaylee's room... No dead animals, promise... Also if you are still with me after you see his room.... When the tour is over and you have seen every inch of my little home I have a suprise for you... Yes.. it's gonna be BIG! Ok now on to Jess's room.

When I told yall that I would give a tour of our home... I guess that meant every room. My oldest , Jesse is almost 18. His room was nice and sweet and a little boys heaven.... Now please be aware... We do love animals! but My son hunts and has a few in his room. This sign is what greets you when you enter... Are you still with me?

He has 3 of these but I figured you got the point after one... He is very proud of his hunting skills. He does eat what he shoots... I dont....

We do not eat these... It's a coon... They are terrible when they get into your garbage.. The joys of living by the woods!

His room use to be toys and games.....

Now he brings things home like this from biology class. This was a science project...

I loved this stainglass picture. Im still waiting for sweet husband to hang it for me..

He does still have a few toys about. This one is about as old as he is... Dont tell but he still keeps it on his bed.. How sweet , I know....

After the hurricane we did get some water damage in Jesse's room. Out went the carpet...

I stained his concrete a cola color. I liked the way it turned out... I promise no more dead animals on the tour... I hope yall come back! Smile...

  1. You're too funny Miz Susie! Nothing to be afraid of in your son's room! I have a son in college living at home and his room IS scary! You couldn't pay me to show it! Love the stained concrete floor. You're going to have to share your secrets with us on how you did that. Still on the edge of my seat for the rest of the tour, you have a beautiful home, simply beautiful!

  3. Morning Susie! I'm so enjoying the tour of your home! The floor in your son's room - the stained concrete looks great and I can't think of a bette flooring for a guy! Good for him being a hunter and so young! Well, I'm anxiously awaiting tomorrow's tour!

Oh, my little sweet chickie tassel has certainly caused an uproar in the kitchen among all the roosters. She is a hit!!
    Be a sweetie,
    Shelia ;)

  4. Most moms wouldn't show that age of a son's room at all. Looks like a very nice room for a young man. The concrete floor is neat. At my 15 hour a week paid job they have stained concrete floors and I just think they are beautiful.

  5. I am impressed that you would show your son's room! I 'might' show the middle child's room - if I were selective about the shots - but no way would I go upstairs and show you where the oldest is living! (I rarely go up there at all) Someday maybe I'll get really brave and show the garage - that is where most of #1 son's first apartment is at the moment. (he moved out for 2 1/2 years, then came back!)
Hope your hydrangeas do well. Mine has had to have a lot of water too - right now we are watering it at least every other day but I suspect on into August we will have to do it every day. I hope when it is more established it won't take so much. You didn't plant yours in the full sun did you? That was my first mistake and I lost one of the two before I moved this one to the shade.
Loving the home tour - looking forward to the rest of it!

  6. I am used to seeing animals adorning the walls! We have fish on ours here in the family room. My brothers house, well they have deer heads, ducks and the like!

We have concrete floors and I always threaten to pull Kayla's up because it's such a stained up mess from her taking drinks in there and spilling things, plus writing on them with markers! Yea, I know!! : ) I would have never thought to stain them. Turned out wonderful!!

  9. Having his "stuff" in his room is what makes your house his home. I like the stained floor too. Thanks for showing us around.

  11. I'm still with you. I'm sure we will be at that stage sometime in the future. Being that my husband likes to hunt and has taken my boys with him on his last trip. They won't admit it to their momma but I think they like it. We have mounted deer that made it as far as the garage because it freightens my little Daisy. And since she is the princess of the house it will not becoming any further.

    Love the Lion King!

  12. I would love to know how you did your floor? Did you hire a professional or did you do it yourself? With 3 dogs and 2 cats we need to be rid of carpet! :)

    Thanks for the tour!

  13. Hi, Susie, I'm really enjoying your home tour. So pretty! Love that black/white fabric & can't wait to see where you've used it.

Oh, I'd love to pull up my carpets in the lower level & stain the concrete. Love that look. Lots of new builders around here are doing that instead of carpet.

  14. To all of my great, wonderful, adorable friends...Thanks for all of the nice comments. You know Im loving this! I did stain the concrete. Will I ever do it again? Maybe not.. It's not for me. I love the look but it was very time consuming and worked with chemicals that had weird smells... If you still think you want to do it... Maybe I will do a post on it.. I should have taken pictures during the process but that was before I knew about the joys of bloggin'... Hugs... Susie

  22. How did you do that floor??? We have gross floors that need to be ripped up and I would love to stain the concrete. Does the color come off on his socks? I have a friend who stained hers after ripping up carpet and she said it stained their socks.

And living in the South, I have resigned myself to having either dead animals or the remains of such (like antlers) in some room of my house. I don't like it, but it is what it is. : )

  23. Susie, I'm so glad I found your blog. I love your home, it has so much personality. Great pictures too.
I used to hate going into my oldest sons room when he lived at home. He had a really bad habit of leaving food encrusted dishes in there and I rarely saw the floor thru the piles of crap. I'll bet the stained concrete is easy to keep clean.
My (almost) 16 yr old still keeps stuffies on his bed too. I think it's cute.
    Have a great weekend! :)

  26. Oh, Susie, you are too funny. It must be a Southern thing because my 40 year old husband would still love to have that kind of room. My son has now inherited the love of camo bedding and all his hunting apparel around. He hasn't gotten anything big enough yet to have stuffed but it wont be long. I love those floors!!
    Blessings~~

  27. I must bow to you my friend. You were not only brave to show your teenage son's room, but also to show his dead animals. Hopefully there won't be any PETA protests. But, I'm sure your blogging friends will stand by you---I know I will!
I'm loving the tour (dead animals & all)
    Have a great weekend.

  28. Hi Susie, how funny, I have son's who also enjoy hunting. Living on a farm you always have your run in with a dead animal, or coyote, or something. You learn to just pick them up and throw them in the trash. My sweet daughter always yells for me to do the dirty work though! Glad to see your a true feisty female who does not faint in the face of...a deer head on the wall!!!! Hahaha.
    Enjoyed your post today.

  30. Susie,

I'm loving that floor too. Staining concrete floors really big in AZ right now. It makes walking on it cooler.

Can't wait to see what you do with the fabric!

  31. Ooooh, not a fan of dead animals...but I totally understand that they can't stay little boys forever. Still, you are a stronger woman than I am--no way could I have the dead animals and the fetal pig in my house!! Eeep! :)

My daughter has stained concrete floors all through her house...they look great!

I love the black and white fabric...looking forward to seeing where it will end up!

  35. Could you please give a post sometime about how you stained the concrete in his room? It looks terrific! But I'm domestically challenged and wouldn't for the life of me know where to begin to do that.

  36. Well Suzie-Q, I am impressed! Just found your blog from the lettered cottage. I have 4 teens right now, 3 of them boys...Kudos to showing a clean room. It may take a dump truck and act of congress to get the boys rooms clean enough to shoot! Appreciated the floor (and your honesty about the weird, smelly process)We stained our Living room and library floor. About 5 years ago...starting to fade a bit now. Not sure what we'll do next.

Enjoyed your blog...and if you don't mind...will add you to my list of faves!

  39. I swear, I can not tell in that picture on your side bar which one of you is the daughter and which one of you is the mother. Wow, beautiful!

I am about to purchase one of your tassels! This is my new addiction. I just bought one from The Nester yesterday!

Your son's room with all of the animals is too funny! That is why God gave me four girls! If I saw a pig in a jar I would have a freakin heart attack!
