Planting grass 101

I have had this metal tray for sometime now and wanted to fill it with something...
Why not grass?

I wanted it to look natural and fill the tray so I cut the grass in half

I placed each blade one by one... I know Im crazy but I wanted it to look even

I think it looks good up here. Now just to fill the inside of the cabinet.

I did find this little cutie at the Goodwill today for a sweet 3.99. I think she will fit in just right.

Love the grass! What is in the tray to hold the grass? That's a great idea for on top of your hutch! Mind if I borrow it? The idea. Not the tray, of course.

And I found something very similar at Goodwill a few weeks ago. Just love it!

Wow. That's a great idea and it looks awesome. I loved your hutch so much I had to check out my local Kmart for the same thing. No such luck! It's just as well... I have no where to put it!

Great Goodwill find too!

I, too, am interested in what you used to hold the grass up. It looks white, but I can't quite make it out :) Love the look!

Well, I guess the grass is always greener on the other blog! I love your arrangement, and what a deal from Goodwill!

Hey! What a great idea to plant your own grass container. I should have thought of it....wait! I did!
It's the best way to get exactly what you want AND have a one of a kind.
Love the new white ceramic addition.

Hey ladies... so you want to know what's holding up the grass. It's the styrofoam that the cabinet came in. Free.. the idea from Joy... priceless! Thanks Joy, you rock!

Thanks for stopping by! :) I love the grass--nice touch!! Cool Goodwill find, too--gotta love that! They're having half-price Saturday in my neck of the woods--you know I'm there!

Your grass bowl looks perfect perched up on top of your new armoire! Like it has always just belonged there. :) We don't have a Kmart anywhere nearby. I wish we did purely so i could check out some of the Martha Stewart wares.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you visit again.

I don't know why I haven't thought of cutting the stem off of grass before and planting it one by one. I'm sure that took you awhile, but it's so worth it! You're right...it does look so much better when it's even (and natural) looking. What a great idea!

Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a sweet comment. I am really enjoying getting to know you!

I'll be back soon!
